  1. @BIGNEWY can you clarify? Thanks
  2. I attached here a page from the official manual as found in the docs folder. If you read it you will notice it doesn't go into any detail as to what the "EW mode / Display type" selector does. I suppose it is used to display only aerial threats, or SAMs or else in order to de-clutter the display. But since there is no description, I can't know for sure. Certainly, in DCS, changing the mode to any position N, I, A, U or F produces no effect whatsoever on the RWR symbols being displayed. All of that said, the question that follows is: is the function implemented in the F/A-18C Lot 20 simulated in the current public version of DCS? Possible answers might be: - Yes it's implemented and working correctly (in which case could you please explain what is it supposed to do?) - No, it's not implemented yet - No it's not implemented because the particular version of F-18 we are simulating doesn't have the function in real life Thanks
  3. Using the RWR filter knob to filter AAA, SAMs etc doesn't seem to do anything, is it sill not implemented? Seems pretty basic..
  4. There's one more learning point though: my page file was set with a minimum size of 12 Gb and a maximum of 32, so it should have used more than 12 before crashing. Now I set it for min. 32 and max 32 and it stopped crashing.
  5. Looks like that did the trick, thanks a lot for the help!
  6. Thanks, will give this a try!
  7. I have 32Gb RAM and page file enabled. Keeps crashing in MP missions, tried different modules and maps. Vanilla install, no mods. Vanilla windows 10 install where DCS is the only software installed apart from TM Target, VPC configurator and Track IR. dcs.log-20230804-192528.zip dcs.log-20230731-161453.zip dcs.log-20230731-161457.zip dcs.log-20230731-145924.zip
  8. Ok, I reinstalled all drivers and now it works. Thanks
  9. I tried all scripts, and it doesn't work with any of them, this is weird indeed..
  10. No i didn't forget. I am remapping everything, so I choose the command, double click in the "Thrustmaster combined" controller, and press the button on the stick. All buttons are recognized, but when I press the stick hat, nothing happens.
  11. If I use the joystick without script, the hat is recognized normally in-game
  12. Hi, trying to use use you script but in game the POV hat on the stick is not recognized (using the Run_simple.tmc).
  13. Unless you have a truly terrible joystick, I guess you just need practice..
  14. Ok, so is it "normal" even with this error that at 20kts and 40kts, with no wind, I have crab angle as shown below (centered ball and level)? This looks very far from the numbers you mentioned
  15. Has this been fixed? trying the Apache and also noticed a big crab angle. Also what I don't get is, with a centered ball, the AoA probes on the side of the engines are not aligned with the fuselage (as they would be if the aircraft was flying straight), is this to be expected with a centered ball and "aerodynamic" trim? Thanks
  16. Exactly, that's why I stopped flying helicopters in DCS (and the A-10 doesn't fare much better for the same reason). You are right, it's not an Apache problem, it's a DCS problem, but the Apache lives in DCS. The environment in which it operates should match the level of realism and immersion, but it does the opposite.
  17. I'm giving the Apache a go and really enjoying so far. System-wise it's a little daunting but a nice challenge. Flying NOE in Syria is great. The big issue for me is the stupid all-seeing ground AI, as usual it means a BTR or ZSU emplacement can aim with laser-accuracy and destroy you depsite your best efforts at terrain masking or surprise attacks. Their MK1 eyeball INSTANTLY acquires a target no matter what, and they have a perfetc firing solution at the first try. I'm really hesitant to buy even with a 50% discount because of this...
  18. never wrote the word "heresy", but heresay, and I actually meant hearsay (spelling mistake, my bad)... Which well known public performance chart are you talking about? Hopefully not the one from Northrop, because there is a big difference between that and the DCS performance.
  19. Yep I just noticed, it is what it is. I'm not going to buy an asset pack the price of a full module, that should be part of the base game. I have plenty of ED products paid for in full and waiting to be finished, won't be adding more to the list. That said, the server looked fun and a great way to get into DCS WW2, I wish them continued success!
  20. That must be it, I don't have the asset pack and not planning to buy it tbh
  21. The fact in 2023 this is still the only sim or game in the history of flight sims that has no start-up smoke effects is mind-boggling.
  22. I just tired the server and it seems very nice! Thank you! I have one question: twice, while overflying friendly territory, my airplane was instantly and fatally damaged (basically exploding mid air). I didn't see any flak or enemy planes shooting at me, just a loud bang out of the blue, fire and big holes everywhere in the wings, just before exploding. Can you explain what it was? I checked the tacview but it only shows my airplane and no other units. Using the multi-thread exe. Thanks!
  23. oh..ok. to be honest I am sorry to read this, it is something I was looking forward to being correct as part of the controls check. I hope you reconsider it.
  24. @IronMike tertiary air hatch still not working according to the manual now it closes when AB is >zone 2, while it should be closed <zone 2.
