  1. Activations on all modules were so often replenished that I don't have any module lower than 7 on them (I think). Also one per month means 12 per year... Considering originally they are 10 and they are suppose to keep you in shape for life... (considering you change the PC every 2 years or so) We have to take into account that these protections try to protect the developer from something... having activations given for any silly mistake more often it will just invite to some sort of "sharing" of the license... something clearly not wanted in the first place for obvious reasons.
  2. Yeah... lets wait for the next tune. I have a FFB joystick and definitely the feel is not FBW... the plane feels extremely unstable at low speeds... take off is a pain for me and used to be a breeze. I can't yank the nose up and keep it there. It tends to fall or over pitch and after lift off it feels very very light like a leaf. However at high speeds I kind of like it, I used to have very big problems in keeping a turn - keeping the AoA in yellow was a bitch. I hope M3 keeps multiplayer in mind. The plane should not behave unrealistic or give advantage for people that tune up their response curves. The plane should be tuned for linear controls first, curves should simply add dampening but no real input or at leas the FM should respond badly to such "tweaks". Think of a car sim that simply is undrivable if you control it with keyboard and use maximum response.
  3. If you don't know how a thing works... don't make extraordinary claims that will make you look ridiculous. Is this how you act when something breaks under warranty? You go to the shop and claim it ruined the economy of the country? This is all that reg file contains: Let me explain what that file does with that text: First line is just a description... does nothing... it just says what the file is and with what it was build. "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" Second line tells to YOUR windows registry editor... this guy: to go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Leatherneck Simulations\DCS:MiG-21 BiS\Keys that means here (look at the arrows and the status bar of that window and the text above picture and recognize the "folders": And then replace whatever is in the final "folder" and only that "folder"!!!! with NOTHING. So if you had anything... like me now the things on the right and the "sub-folder" called "License0" it will simply delete them. Anything else id did to you it can only be your own fault. Got that? Deleting the key info for your DCS Mig21 Module has no effect on DCS World!!! NONE! It will just prompt you to reactivate Mig21. PS. In windows registry editor those "folders" are called actually "hives" but is not of any importance the name.
  4. I have for several years 3 encoders connected to a bodnar board and they work without any issues, especially the bush buttons. The rotaries are a bit twitchy and I had to tweak them with a small software for them downloaded from Leo Bodnar site. However, I would like to mod my G940 with hall sensors but I'm afraid I don't kow how to wire them :).
  5. How many DCS versions are you running? Did you deactivate at least in one then update all of them? Have you used the reg file provided to delete registry keys? Or you simply tried to activate in all versions one after the other? Think of you activations like an ammo clip for a sniper rille, if your first shots missed... don't keep firing. Stop and try figuring out what is wrong with the rifle... or the shooter or you will remain without ammo and it can be frustrating. Most of us are through this without issues so maybe you need to check if you have done the little things correctly. Do you by any chance use USB connected hardware that you connect and disconnect often? Do you use virtualisation software?

    Hellcat or Corsair?

But this year there is a chance for another plane/module from Magnitude 3? :)
  7. I secretly (oops, not anymore) hope for a public release of that Corsica Map... With maybe part of Côte d'Azur... all with civil stuff... mostly. :D
  8. You want the throttle to act similar to TDC cue axes, right? Sometimes it happens that TDC axes on some modules get screwed ad act like normal axes. This means the throttle might be mod-able to act like you want. I am not a lua expert but in clickabledata.lua and device_init.lua there are the commands defined and you can try to figure out how to change the behavior of the throttle by looking at t=different planes TDC and normal axes settings.
  9. What is EEC? Also when are some reviews or presentation videos to be expected?
  10. I think the message from first post should have stated clearly three things 1. The 3 versions of DCS (alpha, beta and Stable) WILL DESYNC after next update and will be again in sync when all versions will be patched. So playing all versions will be impossible after next patch. 2. The first patch to enter the public use will be for BETA version. So not playing beta will save you a week or so of headache. 3. All you can lose are activations... most probably One if you don't start to activate in all versions like a headless chicken. If you did... mail M3 and ask kindly for more. So best course of action are: A. If you play Beta deactivate Mig21 and either play only beta or don't play Mig21 at all untill all versions are Patched. B. If you don't play beta deactivate next week before Patch to Alpha or Stable and stop playing Mig21 until all remaining versions (Alpha and Stable) are patched.
  11. I think the time for this polemic has passed but I'd say a blind man has nothing to do with competitive gaming, especially where there is a problem with representing the perfect human vision. Fact is the imposters are gone and it wasn't me who disabled them. I am just glad, maybe a new tech can be used, a lighting trick rather than a geometric formula. Indeed they were not the problem just the wrong fix maybe.
  12. Good luck and may you have enough success so you can make a FFB version too. I will wait some reviews and some "salaries" and I think I will replace my G940 stick. Don't delay the throttles too much also!
  13. Now it's a bit unclear. Is this procedure intended for a beta patch that is due to release today or for a Stable patch for today? I use only Stable version, if is not patched then do I still need to deactivate etc? Also. Is this the only fix for Mig21 that comes with the patch? Thank you Dolphin and Rudel for heads up!
  14. I have 4k monitor (I use native 3840x2160) and I don't feel at all favored. My team mates see faster the contacts (Online on Burning Skies servers, dot on or off) and they use 1080p or less. Imposters are gone... hopefully for good. A failed experiment as expected by many.
  15. What is important is to make it work without having to use software to program a button to do keyboard combos. If the game supports 128 buttons then it might be just enough. If Directinput supports now more than 8 axis then is again good... but if it doesn't... my hotas has 14 axis I think.
  16. @ Dudikoff For Axis I think DirectInput has a limitation to 8 and iirc for buttons is 32. If you have multiple 8 way Hats you will hit that limit pretty fast. That's why for example G940 is split in 3 controllers (sure the pedals have no buttons but you get the idea). If you are using a true mode switcher that only enables new stand alone directinput buttons that need no software to reprogram is a better idea to move them to different controllers if is to keep it as open to evolution as possible and also as simple as possible. For the user it will be a very small difference and no issues normally. Just the name of the button will be different. As for Saitek's rotaries. They are not placed in an ergonomic fashion and they will take precious space. A slider or a sunk rotary is much easier to operate and place somewhere without creating problems for Hats or other buttons.. Sure... this is only my opinion.
  17. I hope you take the best of all HOTASes and make a robust and useful one. I had X52s, Cougar and now G940. In the throttles quadrant I (would) like the following. - let the pots die and go for HAL or other magnetic sensors. - make it from start easy to service by user. Don't create complicated wiring and bends. Create smart access holes. Ideally the buttons should come out as a unit and you should be able to swap them even with a Hat. - make it from start with possibility of modding. Don't be afraid. Modding might give you a boost in sales and take away some costs in details that can be added by user at his own expenses (it's good for everybody actually) - make it modular from start. Create the possibility to add new modules later or interchange them. Not only buttons could be upgraded or swaped from plain buttons to Hats but even the base should have place for extensions or replacements. - if possible put a mode switch like G940 and X52 have BUT!! Make that mode switch go to different directx buttons not some driver mombo-jombo that is only useful if you lose your life creating profiles for some intricate keyboard combos. What I mean by that is if you have 32 switches on the Throttles and they are called VPCThrottle00 Btn1, 2, 3 ,4... ,31, 32. Make it that when you switch that mode switch go to VPCThrottle01 Btn1, 2, 3 ,4... ,31, 32. I know there is a limit on how many buttons/axes you can have on a directinput device. Make the "mode switch" switch to a different device at least on buttons if the axes might get complicated (they need to be active, etc) - put at least two axis ergonomically placed but 3 could be even better. One like G940 has and it seems you also have in plan for your throttle. The one between the two levers. One horizontal axis like X52 (this one has it as a slider) and G940 has. These axes are good for Zoom, target span etc. The third axis would be nice to be at the pinkie finger. here are some illustrations I wouldn't mind for a Russian design of the throttles, the roundiness and the fact that they slide on the wall rather than turning on the console. but... maybe is too complicated and not good for start.
  18. I thought that it's a bug the other way around that it isn't working until you move the volume slider a bit. I keep the volume slider on 5% and usually in multiplayer I heard nothing until I moved it a bit to 6% then back to 5%. I wanted to hear a bit of noise from the plane but not too much so that's why I lowered the volume so much although I am using the "hear like in helmet" option.

    [REQ] Romanian L-39

OK... I have made two of them. One with those emblems (No145) and one clean. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2467090/

  20. Could we have some subsections in DCS Mods section for Utils/Tools and for Arcade mods? We have a collection of tools and utils for DCS and they are spread all over the place... some in main section some in DCS Mods section. Also, sometimes the subforum gets cluttered with all sorts of quick imports of GTA style arcade mods... These quick exercises should have a place of their own imho.
  21. I think Mig21 is still an excellent selling aircraft. With minimum investments in finishing the remaining problems and polishes it could sell for years to come. Ad little new stuff now and then to the plane. Make all circuit breakers work. Put pilot inside. Animate some ground operations (dunno... add ground crew around the plane when connecting power and rearming... stuff to make Mig21 more awesome and attractive). Make campaigns and sell them! Don't run from making promotional actions. Sponsor events, sell T-Shirts (seriously), Participate in ED sales more often, etc. Stay in the loop! You have a gem and an icon. And maybe Radu could ask an approval/info from ROAF to build a LANCER... even as separate module. Then... Bam! F16! :D
  22. Most of cockpits now have MIP maps. Can you give examples of planes with problem and if it's about cockpit view or external? For grass you can use Staway's mod for Caucasus map and alsi it might help to activate MSAA 2x at least in Option and use same Supersampling value (2x) in nvidia driver options for DCS in transparency antialiasing.
  23. From many of us I am sure. I am glad Dolphin887 is back on the forums even if not under great moments. Maybe a good example to follow in this direction is Zeus from Razbam.
