  2. Ok that's nice How about general buildings? Do they have destruction models? I've also tried asking this on Orbx Discord, but that platform is soo awful (I can't even find back my own question in between all the constant chatting there.. Let alone being able to find if it has been answered somewhere..)

  4. Sorry if this was asked/answered before. I've been checking out various YT videos, but so far haven't seen damaged building footage yet. Orbx know how to create scenery, but I assume damage models are new to them. Anyone knows about this? (Are we talking "Syria map", or rather "Caucasus map" destruction model details?)

  8. Not sure if the OP is still present (welcome btw), but just in case you didn't know: In order to fly the Apache together with another person, both players will have to own (purchase) the module.

Welcome to the forum @avery Sorry if I misunderstood the exact problem you're describing, but just in case: When in the controls assignment panel, did you make sure to switch to the "Axis Commands" setup? (top left side) You should be able to select the VKB axis to throttle there (also double check that you don't have any unwanted axis bound to anything. E.g.; by default, rudder paddle axis are often bound to pitch and roll) (also make sure that you have the correct module selected)
  13. Yes I know Hiob (and let me emphasize that I'm in the "no thank you" camp), but it was/is just the tone of some of the reactions that surprised me. (I'll just leave it at me probably being naïve, when it comes to my expectations on the level of maturity on this forum)

Perhaps I'm unaware of some kind of history about the OP, or maybe I'm just naïve, but I'm a bit surprised on the amount or toxicity in this thread (especially as I've never seen this kind of behaviour from some of the people that responded to this thread). Admittedly, the whole "I got fat" part was weird and unnecessary, but it seems the guy is pretty green/new here, yet presumably posted his/her idea with good intentions (even though, like everyone here, I don't agree at all with this idea). I expect he has never seen any of the other discussions about this topic, or else I assume he wouldn't have gone through the trouble of posting this essay. So, even though pretty much nobody wants a monthly subscription model for DCS, why is there so much hostility in all these reactions? Have I missed some sort of trolling history with this guy or something?

  17. All very personal of course, but fwiw: I have all maps (except for the ww2 ones) and Syria is my favorite, due to all its details (I like helo ops, so for me ground details are important). Also, I like Syria's diversity (water/sea, forests, desert, large cities) and its potential for historically accurate scenarios. In terms of scenery detail, I'd say Sinai is on par with Syria (the Nile area is also quite green), but imo Syria is just a more interesting map for either accurate, or fictional full blown war type of scenarios SA is also quite beautiful. It just completely lacks content.. PG is nice, but not as detailed as Syria and Sinai. NTTR (imho) is just far too outdated, scenery detail wise. Although it looks good from 10k+ft
  18. Not to mention that in DCS all scenery also need a damage model (preferably even a few damage model variants). I can imagine all these extra variables can add to performance strain. (That other civvy sim has it easy, compared to what's needed for DCS )
  19. I love helo ops, so I probably end up buying the Hook anyways, but it is current state of ground units and lack of an interactive logistics system that hold me back at the moment. Moving static cargo (troops/mortar units) around is fun for a short while, but if that cargo can actually join in a battle after I've dropped them, now that would add endless fun to the endeavor. This screenshot, showing new infantry units, get my hopes up!
  20. Isn't that only applicable to MP missions? I mean, I'm sure I was rejected to play certain SP missions in the past because I didn't download some mod. Or has this recently changed?
  21. Hi @markturner1960, Adding a sound file (such as radio chatter) is actually very simple. No need for to add a zone (also no need for the readme ) You can just add an action "Sound to all" (or any of the variants, like sound to coalition ...): If you don't add any conditions, the sound file will play as soon as the mission starts. But you can also add a "time is more" condition, like in this example: You can make it as complex (realistic) as you want. For instance, you can transmit the sound file on a certain frequency, so that clients/players need to actively tune their radios to that freq, to be able to hear the sound file. Like in this example: You can also transmit on a frequency directly from a unit (without creating a zone). Like in this example: As far as I know, the sound file should either be .wav or .ogg format If you're interested, you can open this mission of mine, in the ME and see how I used sound files. I mostly used ground units to transmit from. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331796/ EDIT: @razo+r sniped me (I type too slow ) I haven't tested with playing more than one sound file simultaneously. If you use the "transmit on frequncy" option, I suppose it's possible. But if you use "Sound to all" I don't think you can play more than one sound file at the same time.
  22. I'm afraid there's not enough fuselage space for mine Kidding aside; I'm not against your wish (why would I), but I have hundreds of AA kills in several of my modules when I check my logbook. What was your idea on how to add them all as kill marks? Although it looks cool irl, I have my doubts for DCS. How about maybe first add customizable pilot names on the canopy?

Our current amazing clouds imo are much MUCH more important than this, but some nice water effect would indeed be nice (helo downwash effect over water too) And, with Afghanistan incoming, we need more dust, in order to be able to do this: My poor old trusty gtx1080ti will probably not like this though
