Ok, so reading my original post it seemed to me like I sounded like, "I don't know how to fly, can someone teach me?" That wasn't the intention. So here is my plan when I return home. A - Program my X52 based off of the BS actual set up. B - Crank up, taxi, hover, hover, hover, takeoff, fly a pattern, RTB, rolling landing, rolling take off, land at nearby FARP. Repeat. C - I found some prerequisite training from the 104th to expand my training further. Continue to do the training until all of the tasks are second nature. D - Find a cool and active community that is willing to let me hang out and answer questions that I cannot find the answers to myself. Hang out, meet the people. Goal is to reach a level of proficiency so pilots are not saying, "Ok we will be leaving at 1800hrs, Bravo4 wait 5 minutes and then attempt to takeoff." E - Find a flight school to further advance my solid basic skills. F - HAVE FUN!
So if any of you fine pilots have thoughts or suggestions, I would love to here it. Thanks all!

Ok, so I'm not completely new. I've been flying sims since Falcon 4.0 as a kid. Currently on my computer I have Il2 1946, Falcon 4.0 AF, LOMAC and DCS: Black Shark. By far I have enjoyed Black Shark the most. The extreme level of simulation has given me new life into flight sims. While I intend to upgrade to FC2 and purchase A10, Black Shark has my attention.
As of right now, I can fire the thing up, taxi, takeoff and land (somewhat). I miss a few things, don't have my joystick programmed right and lack serious skill. While I am aware that fancy equipment does not make the pilot, I love sims enough to have purchased an X52, Saitek rudder pedals and TrackIR.
The problem that I have run into is that Black Shark feels VERY lonely and I would love to get out into the multiplayer community. I have played multi in other games like Arma2 so I am familiar with Vent, TS3, raidcall, etc.
I would like to join a squadron based in the US (to keep the ping down) that is not necessarily large, but is active. Also, I would appreciate but not require assistance almost like training or a flight school.
As far as me, I'm 32 years old. Work in the oilfield. I have a wife and 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. I spent 9 years in the US Army as an Infantry Sniper. Trust me, I understand and appreciate the value of CAS. Other than the whine of the Devil's Cross flying overhead, the best sound was that of Marine Cobras screaming by. They never did a lot of hovering.
As far as the community, I have a 9 year old and 6 year old boy that love sims. My 9 year old already had his own copy if Il2 1946 when he was 7. He loves that P40. There is a future for the community.
