G3 replied to Python1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
go back to 1camera in options menu then in options.lua try these settings ["aspect"] = 4.8, ["width"] = 5040, ["height"] = 1050, ["resolution"] = "5040x1050", -
you are most welcome

for the hud give this a shot  the hud position in the "alt-f1" view can be adjusted by editing the settings in the config/view in the file named view scroll down and find "hud displacement for hud only view" below that find your plane of choice and edit the coordinates to suit (makes me think there might be a way to get seperate hud using this method.) for the view position try edit the coordinates in your config/monitor config eg: 1camera and edit the viewdx and viewdy settings making only slight adjustments makes big view position changes if standard = 0-0 then try say 0.2 and i think negative values are ok too like -0.2

Nvidia SLI performance for DCS and LO comparision
G3 replied to G3's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
with that beta driver 258.69 i managed a 3way sli 3072x1280 portrait mode simply disabled sli and extended and rotated all 3 screens then switched back to sli surround mode and it loves it unfortunately as others report it seems to lock up the pc now and then but it is a beta and i look forward to the next whql release impressed it also offered to add resolution width for bezel compensation individually adjustable between each screen -
Nvidia SLI performance for DCS and LO comparision
G3 replied to G3's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
finally all together, and not a moment to soon :) here's a brief summary of the action so far. ended up with an antec 1200w quattro psu to feed the beast installed win7 x64 4gig of corsair 1600 dominator ram the motherboards own auto overclocking features along with some ram settings got it running at a rock solid 3.8Ghz (that's the e8500 with a fsb of 400, default is 333 so not to shabby i thought) took it up to 4Ghz but it eventually locked up so back to 3.8 it was. hooked it up to the projector and ran it in a single output tri sli config then i added a 17" screen to the same card and disabled sli so i could just run the small monitor for messing about instead of racking up lamp time for no reason while testing stuff out. so then i found 2 more 17" screens and set them up 3 across i could run all 3 individually as in have something open on all 3 but the 177.xx series drivers had no options to span the desktop like good old xp could. yes sure i could make all 3 screens enabled and lined up horizontally but the actual desktop was still only the middle screen and games just did not want a bar of using all the real estate. (i actually did get it to span 2 but not 3 screens.) now wouldn't it be nice to be able to get all 3 working together in sli enter the beta driver 258.69 after some wrestling with install i got it all sorted and went to see what new options were available well i found the settings i had hoped long and hard for, 3 way sli spanned this is wicked, finally it becomes a reality and maybe makes those crazy sli setups no so crazy any more tried it out on a few (which is 3 in this case :) ) 17" and sure enough, well you would think its a th2go/eyefinity/softTH yet it's 3 cards, 3 screens, 1 big view in game in either portrait or landscape mode and up to full HD resolutions and from what i can gather it's using the power of all 3 cards, or you can dedicate some gpu time to physics processing currently it flickers around a bit changing from in game to desktop etc but we must understand it doesn't say beta driver for nothing :D really looking forward to messing around some more, so far so good -
just a heads up, this is amazing news for nvidia fans the previous beta clearly said it was not for the 200 series only the 400. current beta driver allows for multi display sli on 200 series cards. you can check out my SLI thread if interested in more info http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=51240 about time nvidia is all i can say :D

G3 replied to S77th-RYKE's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
you have been busy, great work, zclear sounds good and the new config sure looks friendly  -
adding grass could lower your performance to be below an "average pilot" just like this post :music_whistling::megalol: edit: doh, i swear this post was after the one from user named average pilot, fail :( kind of lost it's funny.

after reading thru 531ghosts' nice tutorial on this matter the mud is finally clearer. firstly let me say this software to the new recruit it's scary i was getting lost (and had lost all hope) when i saw all my ch controllers were showing up as the same thing in game in the DCS controller options. the author explains it's the order they are in when you map it, thankyou. i had missed this vital piece of info. here's a link: http://www.simhq.com/_air12/air_393a.html thanks 531Ghost now i am going to try this again.

just had a quick look and for reference my win7 64 ult install has 40 processes running with nothing more than A/V, firewall and firefox as additionally installed items. in msconfig you can tick the check box in "services" that says hide all microsoft services, unless it is the ms services you wish to reduce ticking this option should leave you with a list of 3rd party apps that may or may not be safe to disable, it's still best to tread carefully and do your best to understand what you are disabling. slayer, that user account idea sounds pretty good, are the settings for msconfig individual for each account?

that's a bummer about xfire bumfire  note: take nothing i say seriously

the old suncom gear was good, i like the no mid clunk as you go thru the centre of the axis', this was a good design, let down by cheap feeling buttons and not the most accurate of mechanical linkage to the pots. it does have a keyboard emulator built in where you could simply press a button on the stick, then press the keys you wanted it to operate which is a pretty sweet idea even today. i converted an sfs split throttle to use usb for the pots and left the k/b emulator intact and that worked quite nicely, just hacked off the gameport cable and used a cheap usb attack 3 joystick pcb. as for the ch software i would have said, not exactly essential but it has great features for programming macros and added functionality. now after reading ghost-531 comments i may retract this line of thinking, the hardware itself is in my mind second to none, maybe i am biased :) and i will be trying out that shark profile in the above post. a few of the guys here have profiles available to download and try out, with features such as "air brake close when after burner on" and so on. even if it's just to get your head around how the profiles are made as i believe it's a little dawnting for the uninitiated including myself. i tried to load up a downloaded profile the other day myself but was unsure of exactly what to do. as with most software you open up for the first time, you are instantly overwelmed with options and settings which at the time make little sense, it would be great if someone would be kind enough to give a brief explanation of how to put someones profile into your own equipment for those less familiar like this little duck. in the mean time check out the FAQ's http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?44-FAQ i would like to ask also is it easy to remove a profile and have your CH equipment return to default/original settings. congrats to the OP on your purchase, many hours of enjoyment to be had

sounds like an incorrect patch version?
-
Ramstein, watching it in the first place has me puzzled.

and you mention a reinstall of the game so maybe your settings are to HIGH :)

manually edit the config/producer file set ffb = false as for the "very squirrely" feel try edit the ingame axis "curves" to suit your liking.

Nvidia SLI performance for DCS and LO comparision
G3 replied to G3's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
well still no SLI review as yet, the final parts are slowly arriving all i need now is some ram and a hdd so anyway, i see some discussion in the russian forums on the same topic and my roughly translated impression of what is being said there is very similar to what Cesthree mentioned above. it was asked if a third card could be used for physics, if that helped and the answer seemed to be no. lucky it's winter because the new room heater is nearly ready :) stay tuned. -
flatlander i like it, the frame is an awesome design, same with the bars, it is a very good looking bike. the contrasting colour scheme is nice, and black is the new black
-
sounds like the bottom of the screen is being cut off, is this the case? if so then is it possible the in game resolution is set higher than your actual screen resolution, (the vertical part) check in the options menu and confirm your resolution settings is the same as desktop res in windows

running win7 64 and adobe reader 9.1 would fail to open the FC2 manual, i simply reverted back to version 6 and it works a treat ?

TRIPLE MONITORS with Softh , Flaming Cliffs 2
G3 replied to S77th-RYKE's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
good to see some focus on the old zoom issue  great to see Kegetys drop in and assist on this. the fixed image in the pit with the clouds looks stretched on the sides, but the fix sounds like it allows you to zoom more without pc locking up small steps -
similar to eyefinity it appears nvidia is looking to release some new drivers, backwards compatible with the 200 series that will allow the connection of 3x full hd @ 1920x1080 monitors in either landscape or portrait mode. the requirement is 2x the new 400 or the older 200 series cards. this spells the end for matrox th2go in my eyes interesting news and about time  gtx 480's are the latest offering from nvidia and not a moment too soon
-
very good idea, i want to acheive the same kind of thing. so only the top camera view changes, leaving the bottom like a snapview. best of luck with this.
-
we can only hope so to see fc2vp, yes please.
