1 month with SSD(Solid State Drive) - Great.
G3 replied to 815TooCooL's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
same as Kuky, but i got the smaller 60gig version of the vertex 2 sure stuff loads faster but i swear blind gameplay improved dramatically, and i am sure it's not just my imagination, someone pinch me :) for i must be dreaming, can a ssd upgrade alone make such a difference, it seems so. i split the 60gig into a partition for the OS win7 and another one for games note: the install of win7 seemed slower than usual which had me worried i honestly believe fc2 has never run smoother, and thats with the in game graphics pretty much cranked, as my rig is not lacking in vid power with tri sli gtx280, and c2d e8600 clocked to 4ghz looking around the cold pit when a mission loads i see no stuttering which in itself is amazing. a fresh OS always seems to fly but the software installed on the ssd is virtually identical to what is on the old hdd, just win7 x64, av, firewall, ts3 and flight sims will have to go fly some more to be sure :D -
make the planes a flying black dot for all i care, but surely anything would be better than an enemy that can cloak itself at such a critical time i think your zoom level can influence this too, sometimes i can be following a potential kill only to have it seemingly vanish leaving me scared and guessing. i would be very interested to hear if you find something that resembles a solution :) i know/pretty sure you can alter the lod's of the models in one of the files, see this thread for similar discussion: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=57139&highlight=lod

this is the correct answer :)

i was thinking your screens were fc2, admittedly just clanced the actual pit. so you too saw the graphics annomolies up the top in fc2, good to know. and it's not cheating, it's clever thinking.

you will get some stretch depending on your zoom level, the closer to the cockpit you get the less stretch you will see. i have run landscape 3 wide on the th2go, then portrait mode 3 wide using 3way sli and it is very good but the fact remains you tend to keep looking down to the instruments, this stacked landscape solution is great for that reason and looking up in a dogfight for example, but lacks peripheral view which from my experiments ruins the illusion even panning left and right using the trackir, you just can't see enough. once i manage to stack 2x th2go (3x2) in a six screen which was pretty impressive. when i played with vertical stacking in FC1 i had issues with the very top changing colour and getting some weird lines etc. that was only using 2x 5:4 screens vertical stacked. looks like that may have been resolved, so i may thanks to you revisit this idea. great work on the 3x vertical stack Burnerski, i like it

given up yet, if not then provide some more info if you want help a bit rusty but i try and get it working for you. what layout do you desire, eg: game on left, shkval and abris on right? how is your desktop configured in windows display properties? what windows are we talking about, xp, 7 from your options height is 1050, width is 3728 ??? alarm bells here resolution is 1680x1050, that's right "aspect" under visible range should be set to match the above game res and NOT the full area aspect of your width/height as your 3.5 seems to be other than that your options file at first glance looks ok as for the monitor setup i can see you have the center view x = 1024, moving the center view 1024 from the left. this is not making sense unless you intend to place the shkvla and abris to the left of your center view, but then why are you abris and shkval x coordinates set up to display them on the right??? the abris starts @ 2704 the shkval start @ 3216 you dont have that much real estate to start with ??? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- get back to basics - lets do a simple config set up windows to display you main screen on the left and your secondary screen to the right, extended or whatever it's called in your system in monitor config get rid of center x=1024, set it to = 0 this will place your center view starting top left on your 1680x1050 monitor then edit the x = values for both abris and shkval to line up with your second screen on the right. you say 1250x1040, lets assume thats 1280x1024 something like: shkval x = 1685 abris x = 2200 you can keep the rest of your setting for these items, (y position, height and width) in options.lua set it to height = 1050 and a width = (both screen x pixels added together) eg: 1650 + 1280 = 2930 also set the aspect to 1.6 and leave full screen set to false these figures should get you in the ball park, and can later be edited for accurate positioning give that a go and get back with your results and more info and we can customize a config that suits your layout, it is confusing @ 1st, just depends how bad you want it :D remember if all else fails start with fresh copies of both options and monitor config files, it's very easy to mess them up by leaving out a simple colon or comma, and they can be a show stopper. also ensure you are selecting the correct monitor config file (in the "in game" options options) :D just under where you usually select you resolution

best advice i can think of: run everything as admin and turn off UAC before installing ED sims

immediate denial, excellent, he is ready :D

you can already reposition the hud when in the Lalt+F1 view but i think it still moves when looking around with trackir seperate non moving hud view would be a nice addition

walk the dog, around the world and don't forget rock the craddle  -
thanks for the insight, it's beyond my knowledge so i see what you mean, it's a real pity as i love all the community built external apps usually just getting it all working is enough for me to celebrate :D update: now running leavu2 in client/host mode across the lan enabled exports and away it went, lovely.

Fun with iZ3D Anaglyphic Stereo + TrackIR + TouchScreen
G3 replied to ChromeWasp's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
you got stung on those glasses :D sound interesting -
i think you will find what your after in the "config" folder look in the file "server" or "view" and edit accordingly.

great idea and good luck, those sat dishes would make for a hell of a wrap around screen. can't wait to see your results, sim visual heaven i would imagine.

in "FC2 game options" check the throttle axis for the F-15 is mapped correctly to your input device and not mapped in multiple columns, sounds like a conflict there. if it's not that check it also in "game controllers" in windows, ensuring you get full travel of the input device axis of choice ,but you say other aircraft work ok so it's not likely to be this (from your post it sounds as though an axis in mid travel is mapped, like centered rudder pedals or something crazy like that.)

perfect thanks Yoda, editing the preset worked a treat, with some other handy options in there too found the frameless mfd's can reduce down to around 300x300 the adi can go lower like 150x150 which makes it fill the hole nicely the realtime speed and smooth operation of leavu2 instruments is impressive is it simply the online server IC that is holding back development of other instruments from the community, i would have thought this app was like a total dream come true for many users.

new 1.7 version with and and or option or is it or and and, will be much easier working with trigger zones now greatly reducing the amount of repeated entries even for my low tech mission building attempts, thankyou.

hello death, i knew we would meet one day, says i staring death in the eye  it depends on what you intend on using the extra screen for if you want another screen to run abris or shkval then i would say no good across the lan but it works with say a low end pci vid card in a spare slot in the same pc if you want another screen to run bsvp or tp then yes it's no problem across the lan to a second pc.
-
not an answer but i am glad you asked as i am wondering the same thing. what you are after is a "combined export.lua" that has both leavu2 and lovp edits working in harmony. for now just make a backup of your config/export that works with leavu2, overwrite with the lovp export to test out lovp, this will probably kill leavu2 have some patience and keep you eyes peeled, it will happen.

don't you just take off and leave em on :)

if you have UAC disabled when installing and you used "run as admin" when doing so then you should be trouble free:thumbup: as for editing moving the game folder and editing the reg, if you understand what you are doing then it shouldn't be a problem. i suggest backup the reg before edits and keep a copy of your game install where it is now, so that if you mess it up then you can restore it easily without a full re-install of the game. the issue most people have is installing with UAC enabled. where it then puts files in weird places. i always install software to my folder of choice, eg: operationg system on c: games on d: then if you copy your reg keys, and want to format the OS you can without messing up your games, restore the reg entries and fly.

the surface is all most of us have to go on :D so for myself and others not in the know it seems all too easy from here. if you ask me the modules/releases are coming out too quickly, i barely get to learn one and another comes out, slow down the releases :D would be nice to see fc2 remain compatible until the fast movers are in the dcs series but i understand that the future is where it's at.
-
i would have thought that since dcs-bs and fc2 were at this point compatible any future changes could be made for both products without too much problems but hey that's just my wishful thinking  one thing is for sure, time will tell.
