I mean, it's not just datalink, the AWG-9 can and will detect missiles on it's own. Often I've not had DL, then see the launch on radar of hostile missiles, whether it be air to air, SSM and on rare occasions even SAMs. I've watched phoenixes from other tomcats, there were not DL tracks, but TWS tracks from my own radar. I don't see that as a problem. EDIT: Also, if the Tomcat is so OP in SATAL, which I can't believe it is, lobby the organisers of the event to remove it from the roster of permitted airframes.

Tomcat sliding on the deck is a rather annoying problem you will see in MP too, when the carrier turns. The Tomcat will then slide away from the turn, since the carrier seems to be moving underneath it. Maybe chocks could be a brute force fix for this. I've noticed Hornets spawn with chocks on the carrier and when the carrier turns they stay in place. It doesn't seem like you can put chocks on the Tomcat.

The issue that always comes up regarding the Phoenix with people, that have problem with it, is its size. For some reason, too many people think their aircraft, a 1000 times more massive than the missile should be able to out maneuver the missile. It's a simple equation in the end. If the missile has more EM in the bank than you do, you will not out maneuver it. Do you think you can out turn a missile from an SA-6, SA-11 or SA-10? Of course you can't. Why do you think you'll have a chance against the AIM-54, R-33, R-27 or AIM-120? You don't out maneuver modern missiles. (By modern I mean missiles with solid state electronics.) You have to defeat the guidance or get your EM state greater than the missile's EM state. This translates simply to either you notch it, or you drive it into the ground or bleed it dry. If you want to get a better understanding in the parity between EM states of missiles and their targets, get Tacview setup, and enable EM metrics, then start testing.

I mean... Turn perpendicular, pop 4-5 chaff bundles. It can't be that hard. I've had enough of my phoenix shots ruined by both players and AI doing exactly that to know the missile isn't OP.

I've only killed an MBT once with the gun and it was by accident. I mistook it for a BMP-2. (Yea, I know, incredibly brave to do a gun run on 360-noscope-BMP-monster.) I fired the standard 2nd burst, then recognised it was an MBT, and was rather annoyed because I thought I'd wasted 200 odd rounds. Then it died. <insert surprised pikachu>

RIO can jump in and out of the aircraft at any point. No problem there. As long as the RIO leaves the aircraft, by switching to spectator first, then Jester will come back fine. The problem with Jester not coming back is when the RIO leaves the server, or loses connection, before switching to spectator or other slot.

Was at about 4500pph, 17 000 fuel, 4x 54's, 2x7's, 2x9's at 24 000ft, doing 350KIAS. It's better.

There's a binding to tell Jester to unlock. So what you can do is, lock up in STT so that the TCS bugs the contact, then immediately unlock, which should keep the TCS locked to the target.

Dunno what Tomcat you're flying, but in mine if I take anything bigger than an AA-8 my flight's over.

To be frank, current Jester would have to come a very-very long way before he's even on par with a brand new human that basically just gets how the HCU works, let alone to being supernatural.

Thought Tunguska can shoot down missiles with it's guns, it's often too late and the Tunguska will still take some damage from the explosion. If you want more success with your HARMs, get closer. Fire from within 20nmi, that the missiles themselves carry much more speed towards the target. It gives the target far less time to react.

Personally, I felt much the same as the OP, when initially it was suggested that the update to the cockpit and external model was going to be a paid upgrade. I voiced my concern and displeasure in some other threads. However I also pointed out if there were to be an expansion in the avionics and/or capabilities of the platform, I would be more willing to pay for the expanded version. In this case I'm very happy that you guys are providing the visual overhauls and bug fixes free to current Ka-50 owners, but also provide a paid upgrade to the module for additional capability. I can't wait to put the money down now for the expanded Ka-50. Thanks ED.

None of what happened with BS2 was fair. It was shameful. Saying it was a "choice" is just being dishonest and borderline blind fanboyism. But now, MWS, DIRCM, Iglas. I'm 100% okay paying for that, and I can't wait to throw my wallet at ED.

Well, based on the model pics, this doesn't look like simply a cosmetic update... Last time, and recently in the A-10C suub forum, I expressed my opinion that paying for a cosmetic update is unacceptable. (I mean a lot of people were forced to pay twice for the Ka-50 to be able to keep using it.) That being said, If there is an expansion in capability, which the model does hint at (MWS, DIRCM) I would gladly put money down. That, imo, is fair.
