  1. Unless I missed it someplace, there has not been a release date for FC3. Only speculation. FC3 will be supported by world. There has been no announcement (unless I missed it) if ED will do the same discount deal with FC2 as with FC3.
  2. I am currently building my first Panel compilation of sorts using the groovy game gear gpwiz40max. Its a great board. The switches I am using are GCElectronic heavy and medium duty toggle switches, Single Pole Double Throw (SPDT). Its all you really need. Double Pole Double Throw just means that the switch position will operate two separate circuits at one time. In our case, that is unnecessary. A single pole will do the trick nicely. As far as good place to get them, I don't have any idea. A lot of folks have recommended digikey. One recommendation I do have with the GPwiz from groovy game gear, Don't buy the wiring kit. I thought it would save me a lot of time and effort but the wires are much too thin to make contact. The inside of the hole you stick the wire through on the board has a plastic backing so it only make contact on the part that clamps onto the wire.
  3. Its not a weird texture on your pilot... He just ejected without his clothes. This orange mesh appears on objects when the game cant find the right texture. Why its doing it I cant tell... What mission? What version of the game? What country was the aircraft you ejected from assigned too? In other words, specifics are needed to help diagnose the problem, not just a picture. That being said, I vaguely recall this being an issue addressed else where and should hopefully be fixed in the next patch.
  4. Have you tried making a simple mission in 1.2.0 Cichlidfan? I too have noticed this behavior when I was trying to create a mission. Is it a possible bug?
  5. Close, but you do not need to have the BS2 standalone. Install BS 1.02 (your current version install will work for this. It only needs to detect the key on your HDD) Install DCS World purchase and download the upgrade module for World. Install BS2 module to world. (it will scan and locate the correct spot for install.) Thanks again for the kind words Legion :)
  6. My apologies should have been more clear :)
  7. The spacebar works just fine. The problem is once you move on to the next trigger or the next set of commands, there is no way to stop the old message from playing and start the new one. So, the trainer puts in stops or timers into the training that are usually just long enough to finish the speech so that you don't have the run over. Wait until the instructor is finished speaking then press the spacebar. An example of this behavior would be a step where you have to flip a set of switches. If your fast enough, you will notice that you have to wait a few seconds until the speech is done before it highlights the next set of switches.
  8. When you create a new mission, a screen pops up allowing you to change the allies of the map. You can not change it after the new map has been created.
  9. Ah, glad to see you got that worked out WildBill.. I was wondering what happened with that. You never responded.
  10. I understand why they went to origins.. but it makes me cringe to think about it... I ABSOLUTELY hate origins.
  11. You will also need to post your crash logs from your saved games folder. Since the game is designed to run on 64bit, I believe there is another step you must take to try and get it to run properly... I will see if I can find them. Looking at your specs though, Im not sure this game will run all that smoothly on this system. You can try this 32bit switch here http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1084420&postcount=8 It should help with the 32 bit problem.
  12. What mission? Georgian hammer? Anyhow, this is a known bug with older missions that are using the armed buildings. Whenever you try and load a map with them in there, it will never load. There are some work arounds for it on the forums someplace. Somebody has actually edited all the mission files and deleted those units. Try searching the forums or the user files section and search for the name of the campaign.
  13. Ah, gotcha. Thanks for the clarification on that.
  14. Can you post a track of the issue? Its hard to figure out when we cant see what your doing.
  15. I have not seen anything that would conclude this to be a false statement. All of the modules that ED has released have been at an incredibly high detail or study SIM quality. ED is multi-sided. They do have both a civilian version and a military version of DCS, yes. Is there something that has lead you to believe this statement on the wiki is untrue? Keep in mind though that because some things are classified systems, they may not be included in the versions of the aircraft that we are flying on the consumer side. You may find some discrepancies to that regard. For what they can model, they model to the extreme. So, you may find the A-10C is missing a particular component, or the KA-50 is missing an updated system(but that's whole nother can of worms with all the variants). That is why ED did not make say the A-10D or E versions.
  16. I would search out PeterP's export all luas. Using Helios I believe. My apologies to PeterP if that is incorrect. He has posted some amazing works about exports and getting multiple displays working. Seek out his guidance and you will not be disappointed.
  17. World will ONLY work with BS2. If you have BS1 you can purchase the upgrade to BS2. I highly recommend BS2 for so many reason I cant list here. BS 1.0.2 is the highest BS1 ever got and is no longer going to be updated. Only BS2 in World will be supported moving forward. As far as patches, the best answer would be, there are none.... DCS world 1.2.0 is the full version download. You would then need to download your appropriate aircraft module also version 1.2.0 and install that into world. Pay close attention to the verison numbers. 1.2.0 (1.2.0.0) is the latest verison.
  18. Thanks Bignewy. I did a bunch of research before jumping into this. I watched a bunch of videos and read through several threads of various pits that people are building. I have compiled a list of several websites for various components. Its a slow work in progress.
  19. Ok, so its not much of a cockpit... I am however building a box containing a bunch of different switches ect to sort of test the waters and expand from there. (I'm not that great with wood working :/ yet.) This concept box is just quick and dirty. So far, I have purchased a bunch of different types of switches. Mostly just On-On, a couple ON-OFF-ON. I am using a http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=82_81&products_id=235 to control all of the switches. So far, construction is going well, I need to mount the GPWIZ40 inside the box and drill a hole in the side for the usb cable. I was looking at acquiring a push button for the weapon jettison button. The tricky part is, I ran across a thread a couple weeks ago somebody had pointed out a website for a bush button. The push button had the option of being ordered with a large cup surrounding it that appeared to be perfect for the jettison button shroud. I forgot to save the link to the site and can not find that thread. Does anybody know if it sounds familiar? I don't have access to a cnc or machinery really to manufacture it myself. Any other ideas would be most appreciated. I would also be interested in a link for some grey rocker switches that are used in the CDU control panel. The only ones I can find are on/off rocker type and most are lighted.
  20. Welcome to the shark! The above posts describe how to download it. If you are new to the shark or need some refresher then check out my training missions http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612.
  21. You are correct. Currently the set failure triggers do not work in the multiplayer environment. Which is a real shame mind you. It would be nice to have sometimes.
  22. One thing that you need to make sure you are doing when you are connecting and disconnecting is resetting the fuel funnel by pressing the pink switch(same as nose wheel steering button) on your HOTAS.
  23. If you had taken a quick look around forums you would have noticed in the bug sections (where this should have been posted) a lot of different threads all relating to this problem. However, to keep this brief and not go into another long winded discussion on this matter, ED is aware of the problem, and has a solution in the works. It will not be out till the next patch so you must be patient. Keep trying to log in. Sometimes it will let you, other times not so much. It comes in spurts.
  24. I guess the question is what is the behavior of the units after they have passed the enemy? Do they just go and land? do they eventually circle back? To my knowledge, there is no option to force the AI to expend all of its stores but in my past experiences, the SEAD flights will fly off a little ways and then come back until the threats have been neutralized. Sometimes this can be a bit lengthy in time though.
