KA-50 Black Shark 2 Training missions
BigfootMSR replied to BigfootMSR's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Yes. Read the materials PeterP has suggested. It explains in better details about how the trimmer works. But, suffice it to say, When you use the trimmer button, it tells the autopilot to keep these new settings and not try and return to the helicopter to its original state. This explanation is way overly simplified however. SO, get into the habbit of trimming the aircraft a lot. It is also important to have the trimmer reset easily mapped to your hotas. Trimmer reset basically cancels all the trim. -
KA-50 Black Shark 2 Training missions
BigfootMSR replied to BigfootMSR's topic in Missions and Campaigns
No, not more missions at the moment. I'm not sure what else to really teach. I covered most of the systems. I am redoing the Weapon's training mission. I wanted to change the order in which the weapons were being talked about because rockets are such a pain. However, I have decided to keep the order of the training the same. I am however, recording the voice overs again at a higher level for better clarity and fixed a few typos. -
KA-50 Black Shark 2 Training missions
BigfootMSR replied to BigfootMSR's topic in Missions and Campaigns
Its because of the autopilot dampening. You need to trim the helicopter A LOT. "when in doubt, trim, trim and trim again" When you are adjusting heading, altitude whatever maneuver, trim, then trim some more. It takes a while to get used to. Its not like the a10 where you have to use minimal trim inputs. -
DCS: Black Shark 2, Version 1.2.0 Available
BigfootMSR replied to Wags's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Just make sure when you navigated back to the 1.2.0 module download page that you are downloading the appropriate module. There are two of them. If you bought the upgrade, then you need to make sure you download the upgrade module. If you bought the full, then download the full version. The only difference is if you bought the upgrade module, then you need to have the original BS1 installed on your machine prior to you installing the BS2 upgrade module. Other than that, you should be fine. The 1.1.1.1 is the standalone version of the software that will no longer be updated by ED. Only the versions in DCS world will be updated in the future. -
Perhaps this should be un-stickied since this has been released?

This will fix the no audio bug... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91666 This might fix the training video crash... http://files.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/206863/ The A10 familiarization training is bugged. They know about it and its not an important mission. Just move on to the next one. If you would rather have some in-cockpit training for the BS2 like in the A10, you can check out these missions that I have created. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=84612 Hope all this helps!

KA-50 Black Shark 2 Training missions
BigfootMSR replied to BigfootMSR's topic in Missions and Campaigns
I left them in case somebody wanted a particular file instead of the entire thing. For example: I am working on the weapon employment mission. When its done, I will update both the pack and the individual file. That way, you don't have to download and install all of them again. -
"Random thought here... I really hope the SU-25T comes into the D.C.S world." the SU-25T is already included for free in DCS world

On the far left and back side of the cockpit is a large dial. Turn it to say "INT" for intercom then press "\". You should be able to talk to your ground crew. Be sure to move it back to where it was so you can talk to other items such as the ATC. You may need to have your radios on for that though. Middle radio left knob should be to main, top and bottom radio right knobs should be set to "TR". You could also try opening the cockpit and pressing "\" without the radios and should be able to talk to the ground crew. When the radio menu pops up, press the corresponding "f" key to select that option. So, if the radio menu says "8. Ground crew" Then press "F8" to select that option. As far as the landing lights, Its the same switch as your taxi light, located next to the anti-skid switch on the front left dash above the gear handle. Moving the elongated Taxi/Landing light switch to the middle position will turn off your landing lights. Cheers!

Crashing on connect to Master Server
BigfootMSR replied to 112th_Rossi's topic in Multiplayer Issues
I know its frustrating. Wags has already stated elsewhere that they are very aware of this problem and they are working on it. They will post something when they have more information. -
^^^^^^^ LOL, that would solve peoples complaints about multiplayer base raping haha.

Here is the link to fix the sound issues. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91666 You need to make sure that you set up the a-10 to have some Aim9's or they wont do anything. Also, the a-10 is not designed as a fighter. While the aim9's expand the envelope in which it can operate, the a-10 is better off running or getting out of there. For mission building questions, ask them here. http://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=210

Yes. But the links to the manual that others have posted can inform you as well.

elcid, I can not reproduce your error in 1.2.0. I would suggest writing down the step by step I wrote earlier in this thread. I can only assume that you are hitting the APU generator switch and not the inverter switch. I tried hitting the inverter switch before the battery switch and also the inverter switch after the battery switch. Neither one cause the MCL to go off. Either way, if you are getting the MCL to go off during your startup sequence, its due to do doing the start up out of sequence in 1.2.0.

In the future, please post these in the bugs section located at the top of the correct module. In the bugs forum, there is a separate thread specifically for crashes. Edit: Please have a look here as well. This one crash log only tells part of the story. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=64928 Use these guidelines when reporting crashes.

DCS World + Windows 8: Worked fine
BigfootMSR replied to ARM505's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I too will be sticking to win 7. I have seen the screens of win8 and everything they have changed. I see NO reason to upgrade. -
Fresh Windoze instal, what must I save?
BigfootMSR replied to Vlerkies's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I have not tried to do this, but as far as I can remember from reading things about importing settings here and there, is that you have to import them in the controls screen. Click on load profile and then select your old profile from someplace on your drive. Beyond that, I have no idea. Hope it helps. -
Aircraft stress and failure, cause and effects.
BigfootMSR replied to sam777777's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87410 Current list of systems under development. Keep in mind, this aircraft is still in its beta form and not all systems and failures are properly implemented. All in due time though. Then you can test away. Edit: Upon doing a bit more reading around the p51 sub forums, It would appear this list is a bit out of date. But, it IS still a beta and not everything is implemented yet. -
Soulres, what bank issued you the MC out of curiousity? I have used MC, visa, and paypal here with no problems. You could also find out what type of prepaid, cards ED accepts and then get one of those. It wont be issued by your bank which is declining the transaction because it would be through a different bank and the funds pre-transferd from your current (non working) account. IF in the unlikely event that it does not work, you can easily get rid of the pre paid card. Just use it for your purchases, until its all used up :P

PeterP is macGyver with random electronic components LOL Give him some solder, a couple wires, a few springs, and some scrap metal, and you would be amazed at would he could come up with Haha.

freelance, what version are you using? The standalone? If so, then yes, you will get the error when turning on the battery switch and then the inverter. This has been fixed in the world release 1.2.0.

If you had read the stickies in this forum before you posted, you would have had the fix :)

(Directed at OP) It sounds like the OP is using an older version of the game. This issue has been fixed in world. (Directed to d.burnette) you are probably hitting the apu generator switch before the apu is fully spooled up. That does cause the master caution light to come on. you did mention that it goes off after a few moments on its own, which sounds to me like the APU gen kicking in once the APU is at full power. To prevent this, watch the APU gauge on the instrument panel and listen for the change in the APU sound when it hits full power. Then turn on the APU generator switch. freelance, make sure you don't turn on the left/right ac generators before the engines are powered. The caution light will turn on when you switch from the apu generator to the left/right AC gens. Start up: 1. Battery switch to on 2. All 4 fuel boost pumps 3. APU start to on (located by the throttles) 4. ***IMPORTANT*** Let APU completely spool up and listen for sound change 5. Turn on APU Generator 6. Turn on Inverter switch 7. Move left throttle to idle to start the engine and wait till the engine cycle light goes out. 8. Repeat for right throttle/engine 9. Turn on left/right AC gennies NOTE *Master caution will sound* 10. Turn off APU Gen NOTE *Master caution will stop alerting* 11. Turn off APU start switch (by throttles)

I read the first post (dated back in 2010) and was really disappointed. It talked a lot about grass, but made no mention of trees :( But, looks like a lot of work has happened since then and the screen shots do look amazing. I might have to have a look at this product.
