  1. I wanted to keep things simple however, I should have also pointed out that in similar fashion you can adjust the tankers radio frequency, have them orbit or run a racetrack formation, Set weapon ROF to hold so they wont attack, Set them invisible to the enemy so they wont be attacked, ect. through those advanced way point actions... Not to overly confuse the subject, once you are familiar with the items in that menu and the editor, you can start creating more elaborate mission by using the triggered events tab and setting the perform commands there. Whats the diff between the advanced waypoint actions and triggered actions? I'm glad you asked! Advanced waypoint actions are actions that can occur along the flight path at specific waypoints. For example you can have a flight fly a particular flight path and then when it gets to a certain way point, lets say waypoint 3, you can have it start to orbit to essentially stay on station. A triggered event is one that is used to to trigger that command on the unit such as changing waypoints for the above flight to then go land. You would do this by setting up triggers in the editor such that for example red coalition is dead set flag 1 on, once > flag 1 true >AI task switch waypoint to waypoint 4. You would of course set this up under the triggered actions menu and not the advanced waypoint menu. Sorry if all this confuses you, but I hope the info contained gets the creative juices flowing!
  2. Search the forums, there are lots of tweaks and guides out there. My suggestion would be to turn civ traffic off. MSAA no higher than X4. On that end, there are many factors during certain missions that can cause significant slow down. For instance, sunset sierra is like a slide show to most right now. Cause? unknown. Could be the AI, or any number of factors. Anywho, to sum this up before this becomes another major FPS vent thread, check the forums for lots of hints, tweaks, and guides to increase FPS.
  3. Wild Bill, you can add a tanker into the mission as previously described. Under advanced waypoint actions, choose perform command. From the action drop down, you should see an "ActivateTACAN" option. When you select that, you should be able to set the frequency of the TACAN channel. As far as using the TACAN to locate the tanker, I would recommend the a10 landing tutorials using the TACAN. Its the same procedures. I'm sorry I don't have them in front of me at the moment. Hope that answered your questions.
  4. Well, the training missions can not control your aircraft directly. I do remember a bug that I have not heard much of lately that was still related to a problem with the arrow keys. I had also personally experienced this one. I would be flying along and then suddenly, the aircraft would roll. I really only noticed that bug while playing A10 1.1.1.1 and before. It seems that occasionally, there is random command being sent to the game for the arrow keys but I don't know what causes it and cant reproduce it. My advice would be to just disable the arrow keys in the options menu if you experience these kinds of random uncontrollable rolls.
  5. I had this happen to me once when I did not unbind the arrow keys on the keyboard. I was reaching for the num keys to adjust my zoom and hit the right arrow key which caused the aircraft to double over on its side. No matter how much input I gave to the stick I could not get it to right itself. Is it possible that you experienced this? I would check in the options and unbind the arrow keys for flight. I cant see any other reason that the aircraft would roll on its own.
  6. I deleted my previous message because it was incomplete. But, yes you are correct, its DMS long to turn on the spi broadcasting. I know that the AI and the methods used in multiplayer are different. Things that work in multiplayer don't work in SP ect. I will see if I can find the link to the guide I found. Here it is. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=76254
  7. While in the radio menu, press the corresponding F key for the correct radio menu option like you did with F10. So, while in the the F10 menu, you would then press the correct F key for whatever flight component you are trying to talk to. Keep in mind that there may or may not be something in that menu all the time. While designing the mission, the developer may have added the radio command for once you pass a certain waypoint, or entered a specific area, killed a certain unit, ect. Once the condition is met, then you will see something in the radio menu.
  8. No issues with the door. Just the standard "clunk-click"
  9. I posted the training video fix in my first post. "This might fix the video crash"
  10. They have not been quiet about this issue. They just dont have the time to post in the vast number of these similar connection problem threads. But, one of the guys on the ED Team had stated they tracked down the bug causing the CTD's and other multiplayer problems to the 3rd party library. They have done some tweaking to the master server to prevent some of the CTD's. They can not fix the problem until they can release a patch. I cant find the source at the moment... Needless to say, they know about it are going to fix it. Be patient.
  11. It sounds to me like the OP wants to have the tankers join up with the group hazmat. I don't see how that is possible if they are from different sides (enemy/friendly). The only way around that is to basically, despawn the enemy group, and then spawn a new escort group that has the tanker and anything else you want to keep in the group that is not an enemy. Another option would be to set the ROF under set options/ or command (I forget wich) to weapon hold. That will prevent them from firing at the hazmat team.
  12. You get the wind direction from the ATC when requesting start up I believe. They do not have an option beyond that point, aka after taxiing ect to get the wind data from them. It would be nice to have though. I also believe that when the ATC gives you the data, its the data at ground levels. You still have to to input the wind corrections for the 6k MSL range ect.
  13. I too used an x52 non pro version and all of the contorls you could want can be mapped to it.. However that being said, once I got my warthog HOTAS, I will never go back. Its a fantastic thing to save up for.
  14. I have not played those missions but sometimes when I mission is being designed, the designer will use triggers to add radio command options to your radio menu when certain conditions are met. For example a radio command to talk to HQ after passing waypoint 2 to perform some task ect. All I can really say is read the mission briefings, follow the flight plan, perform the tasks. If I find the time, I will take a look at the missions.
  15. Not to my knowledge. I personally have just always created my own profiles and reassigned my own keys without porting the config files as needed. From what I have read around the forums, its easier and less headache to just assign them yourself. But, some folks have created profiles to work in dcs world for the BS. Ask around or poke around the user files section and you i'm sure you will find some.
  16. You have the numbers mixed up. Patch from 1.1.2.0 to 1.1.2.1 for DCS: World (English) DCS world 1.2.0 is a newer version than this. The patch you speak of, was a patch for 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.2.0 then to 1.1.2.1
  17. Marcos, I am glad to see your getting up to speed quickly with the shark. Its a tough beast to fly but a rewarding one. Legion, I will keep the briefing notes in mind for future revisions. Its a good idea.
  18. It is a nice idea and good wish. But, I doubt it will come to anything to be honest. Perhaps at some point in the future. Please note though, to install BS2 into DCS world, you ONLY need to have BS1 installed and activated on your machine. You do not need to have BS2 installed as a standalone.
  19. That is pretty much all there is say on any new news. You have seen as much as the rest of us :P Things I do know: 1. FC3 has been announced 2. They have found a possible fix for the CTD errors with multiplayer that will be released in the next patch. Nothing else has been announced or any other details released.
  20. The lighting problem I believe is a known issue. I believe I heard they were working on a fix.
  21. ED is aware of the issues and has formulated a fix they are hoping to distribute in the next patch(info from Wags). We just need to be patient.
  22. I have not done extensive testing on the standalone version since the game is moving toward world. I have updated the missions already with DCS world to iron out some bugs that had popped up. Since its a newer version I cant imagine them working very well on the later installs. I might still have an older version of the training files someplace... As far as "MSR" Its my secret. Its a good guess though :)
  23. It works fine for me in the eshop. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en
  24. brydling, do you still have these boards available?
  25. Personally, I found Vista to be total crap. However, win 7 is a very stable platform (Yes I know its vista-esque). I have had NO problems with it since I installed a long time ago. Most games run on it, except of course the ones that have not been updated past xp. But, thats a mute point. I too am tired of the the XP 4 lifers. Times are changing, developers need the better tech, time to move on.
