  1. Don't forget about the BS training missions that some crazy guy created(link found in sig):music_whistling:
  2. Not a lot of time to get the poll out to the people.
  3. congrats on this working out well for you! This game was customized for 64 bit and required several tweaks to get to run properly on 32bit.
  4. No. Due to a bug with not being able to load a couple units such as armed buildings, the default campaigns are bugged. People have posted on the forums updates to the campaigns that remove or change these affected units. This will be fixed in a later update. You can do a search in the user files section on the main ED site, or here in the forums to find the updated mission files to replace so you can play the campaigns. With these units in the mission, it will always cause a crash or never ending loading screens.
  5. Download the appropriate module from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=136&scr=products&lang=en. Then use the key you got from steam to activate if it asks for it. It will detect your current a-10 standalone install and activate automatically.
  6. Read the post above yours from Cubpilot. He talked about on-off-on switches. On-on switches I would assume you could just manually set in the controls page since both positions make contact and send info to the game. I'm a noob with this stuff though. But, either way, the principals that Cubpilot said should essentially work for all switch types. I have no idea about the potentiometers though.
  7. Serial #: 12828 Location: San Diego, CA, USA
  8. You need to edit a .lua file to tell the sim about the other "position" and perform correctly.. I'm looking for the link that explains this. You need to do this for the switches like the cicu and what not.. EDIT: Here, read this thread. It contains pretty much all the information you need on how to set it all up properly. More specifically, watch the video on how to setup the board in DCS. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=65998
  9. I appologize.. I did not pay enough attention to how many posts were in this one. You found a good thread for it. :P But, I hope we have answered the question any how.
  10. Nobody has these answers, or cant say about the overall area that the map will cover. But this should have gone in the thread about this subject instead of creating a new one. The map will support all currently flyable aircraft and future ones under development including the su-25.
  11. It sounds like your just have an error on the hud. First make sure that you can see the pitch angle ladder on the hud. Basically make sure you are not in the menu system of the HUD. Then look at the very bottom of the HUD as you type in your numbers on the scratch pad. If it says something about an "input error" you can press "CLR" to clear the hud and then try typing in the number again. If this does not help, please provided a short track of this behavior. As far as the no speed issue, it could be an overweight issue. Make sure if you are changing the load out "lalt + ' " you are not overweight with fuel ect.
  12. Thanks mustang. I was looking for that post :P
  13. The training missions will only work for DCS world. The BS version on steam is the origional BS1. DCS World will only work with BS2. I highly recommend upgrading to to BS2. The AI is better, the graphics are more crisp and streamlined, and it supports the trigger system that is needed for these missions to work properly. BS2 is available on ED's main page. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/index.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en The BS2 upgrade will not be available on steam.
  14. Yurgon pretty much got it right. When auto hover is activated, the helicopter will attempt to fly backwards to the point that the auto hover was activated. Its recomended to have as little foward momentum as possible when you activate it. You would certainly want the shark well trimmed at all times. "When in doubt, trim, trim, and trim again" - Cant remember the source.
  15. First make sure you are in the right aircraft setup from the drop down menu "P-51" for example. Then make sure you are in the correct column "saitek rudder pedals". You can just double click in the box to assign the axis.
  16. If I had to guess... mind you I am no expert in this matter, I would say no. The reason being is that it does not have USB input or another similar format. It used VGA connectors. You would need to have a vga output on your computer. Most of the information I have read is that you need usb inputs to do most of the exports of the game. However, again, I am not an expert on this subject. Only what little information I have read about this subject.
  17. PeterP, don't fret over the crashing thing. I'm sure it was just a fluke. I was just writing out my experiences as they were happening. I'm not sure what to do with the flicker, but since I use a trackIR and usually the default FOV, i am not concerned about the flickering too much. The sun still looks MUCH better than the default.
  18. I'm sure you can read through this thread and find some solutions that others have tried that fixed their individual problem, but no "real" (I use the term lightly) has been found. At this point, I am sure ED is aware of the issue. My suggestion would be quit completely out of the program, both client and server, and restart them. This fixed MY problem. Only real suggestion I can give you would be to just keep trying till it works and pray there is a fix for it in the next build :)
  19. Yes Corrigan. I am experiencing the same flickering problem that you showed in your videos.
  20. I am aware of the issues people are having with the connection problem. I will point out however, I have NEVER had a connection issue or crash until I installed this mod. That being said, as part of my testing, I did revert to the original DCS files which connected just fine and also connected fine when I reinstalled the mod. I'm going to have to chalk this one up as a coincidence. BTW: Test 1 results (restore original sun files and test for flicker) No flicker found. (I previously was not using HDR effects to notice if the problem was pre-existing or not) A random thought. I have not had a reason yet to check out what exactly SoftTH does and how its used. Is it possible that Helios/ SoftTH could be affecting this somehow? Have you tried testing this with SoftTH and helios off?
  21. While I would love to say this "muddy windshield" is limited to corrigan, alas, I too have one... In game settings as follows: Everything on HIGH, 1920x1080, 16:9, 1 screen, 512 c.pit res, MSAA 8x, HDR normal, aero disabled, vsync off, full screen, c.pit shadows on, TSSAA (not sure what this is to be honest) Running world 1.2.0. I am using PeterP's stock Sun mod, latest version. Computer Settings: Win 7 pro 64bit, i7 960 quad core 3.2ghz, 24gb of ram, GTX 480 fermi driver 301.42 (latest nvidia driver), 2TB HDD space. As a side note, I was unable to run this mod in the multi-player client. The game crashes on me while trying to connect to the master server. Not multi-player safe? I will be running some tests and what not to see if I can find something that works, anything you would like me to try PeterP just ask. Test 2 (Try vsync on) Problem persists. Test 3 (try with disable aero interface on Vsync off) Problem persists. I did not actually think those would work, but I gave them a shot anyways. Provided you are using the default FOV, no flickering occurs. Any point behind that, and you can see some flickering. *Just my own thoughts* The flickering is caused by the layer that "blinds" you. rays.tga? It will momentarily blink on and off again. This effect in some instances can be seen rounded at the lower edges of the screen and corners. Possibly a problem with "iris" effect of the sun? All speculation mind you. Will look at other things to try tomorrow. Its past 1am for me Flicker_Test.trk
  22. *Attempts to add a splash of humor* Personally, it looks to me like you have some mud on your windshield and are seeing the occlusion from the mud particles :P
  23. Heh, well said. Another superior aspect of this game is its endless modding capabilities. If you want to build yourself your own cockpit with real toggle switches ect, it is completely doable. In this case, the sky is the limit. Welcome to the sim :)
  24. Well, the first thing I would do is make sure that the wing-man is actually equipped to target and destroy said static structures. ie, they wont attack a bunker with a maverick. or GBU 12. Aside from this, I would actually have to play with the commands. I have not tried this myself.
  25. You could setup the failures to happen in the mission editor to give you even better practice :) A true "Flame out" experience.
