Hi there from a fellow r3v user! Nice setup you got there! I have solved the storage of my Warthog mounts by adding additional pipes (leftovers from my previous oZone pit) to the left side and to the left rear (not level!) so I can just stow stich and throttle there when doing something other than flying with the pit. Enjoy your setup, it is a lovely piece of kit!

Good thinking, especially from a marketing perspective. DCS is one of the most impressive VR experiences at the moment but has a steep learning curve.

Have my CV1 already, awaiting delivery of my Leap. I'll let you know folks.

The anticipation is killing me!

How to guide Laser guided bombs for other planes ?
mhe replied to Dragonares76's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
1.) Agree with buddy on lasing code (default is 1688 for all bombs and all TGPs on all aircraft) 2.) Lasing party sets code in the TGP config via the scratchpad 3.) Bombing party sets agreed code for the selected LGB in the corresponding weapons profile 4.) Lase! 5.) Pickle! 6.) Profit! -
As previously in the Beta, my menu is distorted, the right third of the screen is black and the menu is compressed to the left 2/3rds of the screen. Clickspots for the UI elements are where they are supposed to be though. Windows DPI scaling is off/100%, display arrangement is vertical. Resolution in the options menu is 3840x3240, aspect ratio is set to 16:9. No problems in the game itself, only in menu and loading screen. And mission editor suffers from the same issue, makes it completely unusable. Running the following display config (with and for Helios): _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('Helios Vertical 4K Complex'); Description = '4K Main Screen + HELIOS vertical arrangement' -- This file controls how which GUI element gets displayed where. -- Check for consistency with monitor config, instrument exports and Export.lua -- Contains config for A-10C, Ka-50, F-15C, Su-25T -- Config assumes vertical arrangement on screen with touchscreen aligned on bottom and left of the main screen -- Touchscreen resolution assumed as 1920x1080 with 16:9 aspect ratio Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 3840; height = 2160; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 1.777778; } } -- Viewport to place GUI and menu on GUI = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 3140; height = 2160; } -- Bind GUI and tactical map to main screen only UIMainView = GUI -- Export config for A10C A10C_RIGHT_MFCD = { x = 1406; y = 2280; width = 445; height = 445; } A10C_LEFT_MFCD = { x = 67; y = 2280; width = 445; height = 445; } A10C_UHF_PRESET_CHANNEL = { x = 748; y = 2637; width = 30; height = 30; } A10C_UHF_FREQUENCY_STATUS = { x = 635; y = 2725; width = 120; height = 30; } A10C_UHF_REPEATER = { x = 656; y = 2855; width = 110; height = 30; } A10C_DIGIT_CLOCK = { x = 480; y = 2988; width = 122; height = 122; } A10C_CMSP_SCREEN = { x = 1075; y = 2350; width = 270; height = 70; } A10C_CMSC_SCREEN = { x = 864; y = 2301; width = 211; height = 50; } A10C_RWR_SCREEN = { x = 594; y = 2316; width = 186; height = 185; } -- END A10C -- Export config for KA-50 -- END KA-50

Even happens to me with 2 monitors vertically (upper one is 4K). Scaling is disabled (Upper is 40 inch, so not needed, lower is 22 inch, so the DPI are almost the same). Assigned the UIMainviewPort to the upper screen only in the Monitor Config and it still doesn't work. Neither out of the box nor tweaked. Since I use Helios a lot, disabling the lower screen is not an option.
-
Same problem here. 4K screen at the top, 1080p touchscreen below it for Helios. Flying works brilliantly, but the menu is compressed horizontally on the main screen. Have defined a viewport for the main screen only and bound the UIMainView to it in the display config, still it compresses the screen horizontally. Very weird. Clickspots are almost where they should be though, so I have to offset clicks to the right and see if the desired GUI element lights up. Now tried a second time and have the same effect, only vertically. It is kinda odd. I can live with it in the menus, but it makes the Mission Editor completely unusable.

You, good sir, just made my day. :)

hegykc, since you'll be getting a TrackIR for comparison anyway, could you design your IR clip with the same LED positions as the TrackIR clip? You would give customers more choice - a lot of people already have TrackIR and the added option of being able to use your far superior clip with existing TrackIR systems would be a great feature. Just like I can use a DelanClip with my TrackIR 5 without any issues.

Day 1 purchase for me. For pretty everything you release, hegykc. If that stuff is even half as good as it looks it will be insanely awesome.
-
You read my mind. And everybody else's, apparently.

Warthog slew control replacement part
mhe replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I want one, are they available? -
This is very welcome news. Can't wait to get my hands on all of that stuff. 125 USD for a good grip is a steal! Do you already have preliminary approximate prices for the base gimbal made of metal?
-
Grips this year? Hell yeah! Money in hand, eagerly awaiting the release of your products. Would pre-order if you let us!
-
Not really, don't own that setup. But if you have already mounting plates, all you have to do is to cut them to size, drill some holes and you're done. There is a drill plan available on the Thrustmaster homepage in the support section, that should help you a bit.
-
Did I hear Obutto compatible? Once I get my hands on this bad boy (when can I throw money at you?), I will make it my mission to mount it to my Obutto r3v in the best way possible. If I have to design and 3d-print a prototype mount to make it happen (to share the design with hegeykc of course), so be it! The Obutto Warthog mount was originally a mod I made before Chris Dunagan took the idea into mass production (he was even kind enough to ask beforehand!), so I think I'll be able to come up with something for that. Hegeykc, if you need some measurements of an Obutto r3v, let me know!
-
If he also does a new base with superior gimbals, I'm definitely getting that. But yes, given the sticks he makes are compatible with the warthog, the warthog stick must also be compatible with the base he intends to make. Good catch there, thanks. ;)

Just read through this whole thread. My puny warthog now somewhat seems less awesome in comparison to what's coming. I'll happily put down the money for full A10, F-18 and Typhoon setups, stick base and everything. Will you be doing a modular throttle base as well (if you said yes, I missed it)? Given the speed at which you can design stuff and also produce it, it might be a good idea for you to keep an eye on the Star Citizen developments, there is a huuuge market emerging for spaceship input devices right now. I'd love to have a space HOTAS on top of the stuff you already announced. And please make the stick base round like the Warthog, the Obutto folks will appreciate that... Can't wait for you to start taking pre-orders! :)

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
mhe replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I came. I saw. I came. -
It is a pretty hard thing to currently find a 4K that is decent for gaming. As you said, you want 4k, HDMI 2.0 and/or DisplayPort to get that tasty 4k/60p and on top you want very low input lag. It is not that extreme for DCS, but if you also play other games on that screen, it becomes very important. Lucky you, you are in the US. Have a look at the Vizio P-Series. Very good value for the money and reportedly also really great for gaming. I wish Vizio would export these outside the US/Canada. It doesn't have DisplayPort, mind you, but all the HDMI 2.0 goodness a guy could want. You might run into video memory issues though, there is a reason why the GTX 9xx series is 4GB. And it does much more efficient memory management than the previous Kepler-based cards (GTX 6xx and 7xx series), so it is not an apples-to-apples comparison between the older 4GB models of the GTX 680/770 and the 4GB of the Maxwell 9xx. Anti-Aliasing and other memory-heavy postprocessing things could be off the table, but at these resolutions chances are you won't be needing them anyway. So since your graphics card doesn't do proper 4k/60p an upgrade would be in order, but there is a workaround. Since a very recent driver version, you can do 4k/60p oder HDMI 1.4 but you lose a bit of color accuracy which might result on color banding and overall a bit shitty colors. So in the end it's up to you whether you want to upgrade your graphics card as well while you're at it.

Capt Zeen SU25T Helios Profile ! ! !
mhe replied to Capt Zeen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks a lot, well made Helios profiles are always appreciated! -
Not that I know of. But perhaps the next patch will be compiled with at least Rift SDK 0.4.1. One can hope.

I'd go with Thrustmaster customer service, they are very helpful. Trying to fix it yourself might make things worse. If you have a stable indication on the respective axis but it simply does not center perfectly, you might be able to work around that issue by using a bit of deadzone.
