Saitek X55 - Hornet Speed Brake - SBK Switch
noisy_lightning replied to VJS161_Hawk's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Legend! Will this break the integrity check though? -
We all have different modules and terrains, the patch size is not just the Hornet, its multiple modules. Easier to read this. https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ He can have his terrain folder on another drive but DCS wouldnt know its moved for example.

Mine is 12gb so you're lucky!

In the cruise you can back the thottle off to 650~700rpm which makes minimal impact to the airspeed but a huge improvement to fuel consumption.

Saitek X55 - Hornet Speed Brake - SBK Switch
noisy_lightning replied to VJS161_Hawk's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
This is also how I did it, but I set the time to run at 3 sec to make sure the brake had fully deployed or retracted. Just make sure you dont press any buttons whilst its running the macro else it gets interrupted and stops the brake moving in/out fully which can be a pain on the next deployment. I made a thread about this last week requesting a fully deploy/retract option in game and they said they would look into it. -
[UPDATE YOUR GAME] Rearming not recognized
noisy_lightning replied to N19's topic in Bugs and Problems
Its a known bug, think there is a post about it in the bug section of these forums somewhere. -
On the harrier I programmed in the saitek software the mode dial to the aircraft master mode (vstol, AG, nav), works flawlessly. Tired to do the same with the Hornet for AA and AG but so far not had much luck (though not tried that hard yet in fairness)
-
Fair enough, I myself have programmed the mouse stick to slew with a banding macro but to be honest have no need to make up three modes worth of profile if that makes sense. Was just curious if there was some other advantages I were not aware of.
-
Is used incrementally.
-
Is there a reason why you guys are profiling this in the Saitek software rather than just binding in game?

Around 40 to 50 fps. Nvidia GTX 970 4gb (OC) Intel i5 6600K (OC 4.50ghz) 32gb RAM All running on an SSD Cant remember my game settings though, but I only run at 1080p and have low AA settings (2x)

F/18C - Set up your controls first
noisy_lightning replied to Blade196712's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I concur, I spent the first 40 minutes building a control setup before I even "sat" in the jet. I doubt that you have a lemon as you put it, just that you jumped into the deep end before being able to swim. -
I did and there is one for toggle but it won't allow me to assign a keystroke to it in game. A keyboard binding is required for how I need to macro the command in the X55 software due to how that air brake button works on the X55 (have to macro a release command as well as a trigger) in game it does not detect the release, only the press. Let me know if you have any luck.

Is there a way we can set the air brake to fully deploy and fully retract at a single press of a button from in game. I am using an X55 and the natural switch on the throttle for the air brake is a single position switch, on other modules (Harrier, Mirage etc) I have a profile setup for it to press the keyboard command (B) in game on both press and release of the HOTAS switch which works great. On the A10 and FA18 though, because of the way the brake operates I have to build a macro to hold that key-press for 3 seconds to fully deploy or retract the brake, the only problem is that its just not reliable and flakes out half way some times because if I press another key whilst the macro is part way through running it cancels the air brake macro which then doesnt finish its deployment. Can we please have an additional bind available to fully retract or deploy the air brake, or can someone let me know how to script this please? Thanks

English Training Missions (localization issue?)
noisy_lightning replied to b1n4ry's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
On the Cold and Dark mission I had some portions switch to Japanese I think it was on the voice with English words in the top right. Then after I clicked the switch and pressed space it jumped back to English. I can't remember the exact sentence which did it. -
The Hornet Release Day Anticipation Thread

Same here, I think we all effectively DDOS the servers with all the attempted downloads. -
MPA was post war by a number of years. The RAF operated from Stanley Airport initially.

This is what I have done with the X55 too. Don't think I have ever touched the STO stop.

Thanks for the answers folks, greatly appreciated. @mule, think I best stick to my day job ;-)

I have been looking in the NATOPS manual but have not been able to find anything. The image I have attached shows a circled element which I have tried as best I can on my phone to recreate in green. Can someone tell me what it is indicating please as no matter how many videos I watch I cannot fathom it. Thanks

It's the method I use with every TGP in DCS, not sure if it's how they do in real life but if the outcome is what you want and it's not a bug (thinking about how it does it it's designed to work like this) then it's not just a work round. It's a valid method.

With it boresighted instead of tdc action Just use any direction of slew quickly. It will then have the effect you are seeking.
-
What camera are you using with it? I have a PS Eye with a bit of Camera Film Negative stuck over the lens as a IR filter and its works fine with Opentrack. That said the latest version of OT is broken and doesnt work so I am using a version a couple back. Give me a few minutes and I will dig out my settings from an older post I made on here for you to have a go with. ** EDIT ** https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2999899 This is my settings. Don't think the photos will load though as the host is not active any longer.

thanker track on EHSD eventually implemented?

Think he meant a link16 style flight plan. -
Using the trim hat does work when AFC is enabled as I use that quite a bit when searching for targets to control my orbit. But you are correct that moving the stick does not work yet.
