question on which target you suppose to hit
petritis replied to pete_auau's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey, on the bottom of this message you will see the coordinates of the target. Then press F10 and in the given coordinates you will see a red circle. Zoom in in order to see the correct building and its elevation. Printscreen will help you even more. In the next mission open mission planner and set a WP to the building. Hope this helps. -
Are a strike targets always available?
petritis replied to mporlier's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey theoritically yes... but, it will not affect the progress of the campaign, unless you take them out when your XO suggests it. -
question on which target you suppose to hit
petritis replied to pete_auau's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey once you get the coordinates you can jump to F10 map and see the target inside a red circle. You can then go to the next mission and through mission planner you can find the target and its elevation. So you have to go for the given coordinates one. Hope it helps. -
Feedback for hitting Strike Target.
petritis replied to Hotstepper's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey, you are right when you hit the assigned target the message you refer appears. Even though it is not shown in the debriefing, it affects the course of the campaign. Every decision counts -
Hey , the most accurate and easy way in order to find the target is though the mission planner. Once your XO gives you the coordinates of the target use F10 map in order to locate the red circle. Zoom in and you will see the target building. The in the next mission, through mission planner locate that building and put on top of it the waypoint. Don't forget to change the elevation of the target!!!! Also have a look at this.

Hey, thank you for your purchase, we are really glad that you enjoying the campaign. About coordinates, once you finish the mission, your XO will give your the coordinates both in Lat Long and Grid format. You can then use the F10 map zoom in and find the target marked with the red circle. Then in mission planner you can use the coordinates to the locate the target, then assign the waypoint and input the elevation. You can check here for more details. In real life targets are ple-planed before the mission, something like the mission planner. Of course there is the case that they manually input coordinates they receive on route, for example from ground forces located few hundred meters from the enemy,

Hey, once you destroy the target you will receive a message saying that your strike task is complete. In the specific target i would go in the middle with really big bombs. Hope that helps.
-
Hey, could you please some more info regarding AI packages, such as loadout, tasks assigned, area of operations etc.
-
That's your target, the H shaped building. Feel free to demolish it.
-
Hey, do you face the same problem in mission 1 (Show Force mission) only or in the other ones also?
-
Can you please post the coordinates that the XO gives you during debriefing.
-
Hey once you get the coordinates after a few seconds in F10 map you will see a red circle matches the given coordinates, you will need to zoom in, in order to see the target. Printscreen and use the image in next mission's mission planner in order to edit your waypoint according the given coordinates. It is really useful also to edit the elevation of the target. This might help you.

Operation Pontus: general information
petritis replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Once you choose the option that want want refuel a message will appear telling you that you can order your wingman to hit the tanker. Of course this option is a DCS built in option, you can order him to do various staff such as, go to tanker, return to base or resume mission. For this mission you need to order him to go to tanker. Also in order to get fuel you need to tune to tanker's Freq and ask for refueling. -

[Solved - Tasks assignment process updated] How to play ?
petritis replied to neyz's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey, in mission planner you are able to change yours and wingman's payload, Squadron's payload and edit your waypoints. With the new update you don't have to assign tasks for your squadron in mission planner. You have now the ability to do this through F10 radio menu once you are in mission. There is a dialogue that will guide you. Please check the new manual. Let us know how it is working for you. -
[Solved - Tasks assignment process updated] How to play ?

Hey, please check here you are still able to plan your strategy. -
Hey please check here regarding the issue you are mentioning and here are a few tips on how to proceed

UPDATED !!! Phase 1: The Mission. Since we had some good results on the previous mission, I decided to focus more on strike and let my squadron do all the dirty work in the air. In this way i would find the correct time window in order to hit the suggested by my XO target building. Phase 2: Mission Planner. Once i entered the mission planner, I selected my package in order to change my payload and set a WP to the designated by my XO coordinates. After that it was time to change the payload for my squadron. Keeping in mind the following tasks. -Fish: SEAD -Hooters: CAP -Pickles: CAP -Trimmer: CAP Selected Payload: - Fish: 2x AGM-88, 2xGBU12s, 2x AIM-9x one centerline.. - Hooters: 4x AIM120C, 2x AIM-9x one centerline. - Pickles: 4x AIM120C, 2x AIM-9x one centerline. - Trimmer: 4x AIM120C, 2x AIM-9x one centerline. And for my package: 2xAIM9x, once centerline, 2xGBU10s,2xGBU12s. Phase 3: Start up and take off. Once I was in the cockpit, I was ready to assign tasks to my squadron. Though the F10 menu, I assigned the following: -Fish: SEAD -Hooters: CAP to BRAVO -Pickles: CAP to BRAVO -Trimmer: CAP to CHARLIE I then started start up procedures. While waiting for the INS to align i inserted the five field code though F10 menu. Once I was ready, I asked the ground crew to remove the wheel chocks, unfolded my winds and quickly started taxing to take CATI. It was then that I submitted the code. Phase 4: On route to fight. While heading to check in with AWACS area, it was a good time to set my armament in order to be ready for my strike, after turning on my FLIR, setting Code to the GBUs i was more than ready to wait for the right moment to strike. Phase 5: The fight. After checking i quickly switched to my target waypoint, it was about 40nm to the NE from check in area. Unfortunately, enemy fighters were already airborne and heading my way. Luckily Hooters and Pickles started engaging them and I was able to fly that sweet window of opportunity to release my bombs. I double checked that my bombs were good to go, waited and pickle!! A few seconds later i was looking through my TGP two beautiful GBU-10s hitting the roof top of the target building. I then decided to redraw in order to wait for my squadron to perform their tasks. A few minutes later i got the message that the sky is clear. I quickly ordered Fish, Hooters and Pickles to RTB. Since i didn't have any AA missiles except my AIM-9s i order Trimmer to form up with me..I didn't want to left alone out there with no air cover. While waiting him and his no2 to join i contacted JTAC, it would be a shame to return to mother with 2xGBU-12 hanging from my wing... i got my target coordinates and i was on my way to hit those tanks. A couple of explosions later i was on my way back to mother. Victorious and with no casualties. TIP: Throughout the whole mission it is always a good idea to order your wingman to cover you/engage air defenses of bandits. This way you can focus more on your mission. Of course he must carry and the according payload.

Hey, the reason that you are not getting the refuel message, is probably because you are not fly low over Senaki Runway. You have to make a really low high speed pass over the RW, RW heading in 270. Please try this and you should be fine. After that you will receive the option to refuel or not. Hope that helped.
