At mission 7 and still asked to SEAD
petritis replied to mporlier's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey, strike tasks are optional in mission since they are suggested by your XO. You have the freedom to do whatever you want. For example, if you have managed to gain air superiority you can fly CAS missions using JTAC. In this way the enemy will suffer many loses and you will manage to boost your morale. The same applies for your wingman, load him with GBUS or dumb bombs and order him to strike ground targets. The more losses the enemy suffers the more you are able to lower his morale. The same of course applies for you and your squadron. Now as for SEAD, your squadron might have suffered many loses and for this reason the enemy is acitvating more SAM site. There is major update coming based on players feedback that will change many things. Especially in strike targets. -

Confusion regarding strike coords & campaign progression
petritis replied to theIRIEone's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey! Once you land on the carrier your XO will debrief you and give the coordinates for the suggested target. Before you exit the mission you can use the F10 map and locate the suggested target building marked with a red circle. Like in the picture below. Now, regarding your strategy, it is up to you on how you want to proceed. It is very important to gain air superiority first -
Thanks we are running some tests for the upcoming update, we will check this also.

Hey, during a mission you should encounter different SAMs, like SA6s, SA8s and SA15s. Unless of course you did a great a job and you managed to suppress all air defenses. Could you please provide me the codes you inserted. Thanks Petritis
-
Hey, in the beginning of every mission and before you enter the code, you have to assign tasks to the AI flights through the F10 menu. First for Fish, then with Hooters, Pickles and finally Trimmer. For example, if you assign SEAD task to Trimmer this will be his task for the rest of this mission. Now, once you are airborne you have the option to order your AIs to establish CAP. For example, during a mission you see that the enemy has more planes in the air than you believed. Though CAP option you can order other units with different roles to change their task CAP. All AIs are available in the next missions even if they have ejected. Combat Search and Rescue guys are doing a great job

Hey, did you order your wingman to return to carrier. It seems that there is a problem with SC comms when you give that order. This is issue has been reported to ED.

Carrier hits another ship, and yaws constantly
petritis replied to =Panther='s topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey, thanks for the heads up, will check it out and let you know. -
Hey, there will be an update within the next days that fixes this issue. Thanks Petritis

Hey, thanks for your feedback. Your main mission in Operation Pontus campaign is not to hit the optional targets suggested by your XO but to win the war. Like every other war, your goals are to a) to gain air superiority, b) Suppress any air defenses c) Destroy enemy ground forces, d)Provide CAS, e) Destroy key enemy infrastructures and finally locate and terminate high asset targets. Since you are the CO it is really up to you on how you plan to win this war. Your XO only makes suggestions. Also keep in mind that we are the offence as we are trying to regain territories captured by the instigators.

No optional strike target object under red cricle on F10 map
petritis replied to zildac's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey, red circle appears only during debriefing. In case you miss to take a screenshot no worries you can still proceed with your mission since these strike tasks are optional. Since this will be your first sortie after mission 1 i would suggest you to focus on Air to Air and SEAD tasks. -
Hey, At the end of every mission, you receive coordinates and after a while a red circle appears designating you the target building. Once you find the target take a scrnshot. You can still continue with your missions since striking suggested targets is optional. Hope the picture helps

Hey, for an unknown reason, wrong files were included to a previous update. We notified ED in order to include only the correct documents. Until it is fixed, the correct files are the ones without version numbers. ex. "Operation_Pontus_Manual.pdf"

Hey, could you please let us know which AIs are still problematic and their given role/task. Thanks Petritis

No optional strike target object under red cricle on F10 map
petritis replied to zildac's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey, after your XOs debriefing you have to wait a while until the red circle containing the target appears. If you click on it should say something like "strike". Also do the coordinates match the ones of the red circle? -
Hey, this issue never occurred to us during testing. Could you please provide a track file so we can a have a look.

Hey, new files were send to ED in the previous week that solves this issue. They should be up int the next update. Thanks for your patience

Operation Pontus: general information
petritis replied to baltic_dragon's topic in Operation Pontus Campaign
Hey, no you only get the coordinates of the target once you land on the carrier. For this reason it is crucial to take a screenshot of the target and the coordinates on F10 map. -
JTAC doesn't give you info about the target suggested by your XO but for ground troops. Depending on the type of the target and your payload they will tell you what weapons they want you to deliver. A small tip, GBU10s works best for target buildings suggested by your XO.

Hey, thanks for the heads up. This issue has already been taken care off and should be fixed in the next update.

Is it to be expected by squadron always dies?
petritis replied to brodie4598's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hey, thanks for your feedback. From our part, we constantly try to improve the AI behavior. Even though you are not able to change the waypoints for the rest of the squadron, you can set there area of operations though F10 menu when you assign their tasks. This applies at the moment only for CAP roles. For more tips you can have a look here: Hope that helps. -
