Is there any point to selecting delays for Mavericks when attacking armor? I would imagine it's more for buildings.

Interesting thread. It got me to do some science. I put an E-3A up in the sky to see how many 7.62 bullets were needed to bring it down. In one attempt, 1400+ rounds and it was still flying. It tends to go down after around 1200ish usually. If you aim for the engines, it will drop faster.

ED were reluctant at first, but I think they see the benefits. It opens the game up to a whole other player base who would never touch it if it wasn't on Steam. I'm glad it's available on Steam and will happily keep buying things that way in the future. Steam and standalone are good for different people.

Steam for download speeds and auto updating. I have over 300 games...

If only there were an option to add a background text box to multiplayer chat so I could read the blue text.

A few weeks back I was struggling to climb to 15k after an awful take off. I later noticed I hadn't flipped the ignition on. I was pretty shocked I could start and run the engine that way. Could you do this in real life?

Try with full power? Ahh, you did say. Make sure ignition is on. I was flying without it the other day, surprised I could, and struggled to gain significant altitude.

I bought a 34" ultrawide (low res) especially for DCS. With TrackIR, it is so much better than my old 24" screen. I can actually see what I'm doing now.

Which sections from this? The metashaders subdirectory? Specific files in that? My shaders folder is around 61mb and metashaders is just under 2mb right now. Is there any good reason this is not done automatically by the game? It seems that a lot of players are going to be taking massive frame rate hits for no good reason.

I wouldn't suggest A2A combat until you know what you are doing. It's too easy to shoot down friendlies at the start.

Don't underestimate the importance of setting this up correctly. You should keep multiple configurations and play with the settings often as small changes can make a big difference.
