Matters of value are subjective really. I might think that there is no need to pay more 800$ for a bycicle (MTB) as the return past that price point is moot, but there are plenty enthusiasts that will pay several times that for their bike. Same with our pedals, slaw's feel so much different to me after Saitek combat ones. Is that difference to the better? Is it worth several hundred $ over saitek? Different answers possible from different people. In my opinion yes and Yes, every penny.

Not "all pilots" fly like that. models with all-foot-peals do exist, the BF109 for example Slaw's are quite realistic too if by realistic you mean heels on the floor.

Those decals are there for that specific event - parade . As far as the failure i suspect its not related to parking brake but to some specifics or shortcomings of the powertrain - tank stalled earlier and driver couldn't restart it.as seen in video It couldn't be towed due to something being locked. However when factory test driver showed up, he started the machine right up and was able to drive away under its own power. Something tells me someone will get quite a scolding for this :)

Если человек закрылся по голову в снег естественно что его не найдёт тепловизор - излучает только "морда лица". Динамический диапазон этих устройств совсем не большой, поэтому и человек в одежде и дерево могут светиться примерно одинаково если соответствующе настроить контраст. Танк (автомобиль, постройка, любой искуственный обьектт)и в реале будет достаточно отличаться по температуре и соответственно будет яркой точкой при любой температуре песка - разница температур. Вообщем я к чему, и в снегу, и в пустыне с горячим песком обнаружить тепловизором танк будет ровно одинаково.

Тепловизонный прибор работает не совсем так как вы представляете. Самое главное там - разница температур. У разных предметов она не может быть одинакова. Как пример даже грунтовая дорога видна на фоне ландшафта так нагревается и остывает по разному. В зависимости от груна иногда на какоето время отлично видны даже следы танковых траков . Люди и техника вообще не проблема . тёплый песок не светится так как оператор (или автоматика) настроил правильный контраст. Иначе светилось бы все, Даже то что вам кажется холодным все равно теплее чем -40С до которых охлаждается матрица. Подозреваю что с тех пор когда мне приходилось таращиться ночи напролет в тепловизор (уже тогда неважнецкий) техника серьёзно улучшилась.

As far as non matrix display I think this will be easy enough to emulate with "dot matrix" font that already exists in game. (Unless you already seen this - I with lots of help from Ian messed with it here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2314907#post2314907) If I was able to do it you surely will too. Perhaps I don't see the entire picture of what you want to accomplish with dual RDUs, but I don't see why they absolutely have to communicate to each other. Each will display freq info taken directly from game export and each will send control signals independently back to game. Or are you building up something on tip of that?

I'm not going to argue about how true your statement outside of DCS world. This app however is quite specific. Being single threaded and CPU heavy the playing field leans heavily in Intel favor who is the stronger player as it is. On video front , while not as crusual nvidia handles things better still due to DCS being dx9, no level playing field here either. So no, I don't believe you will get more performance for your dollar here going with amd. Budget is indeed a serious thing, but shopping carefully 700$ still can make a i5 + gtx960 which will be very decent system for dcs (and provide little bit upgrade room).

For now Intel + nvidia are strongly preferred for this application (if maximum performance is deaired). when 2.0 comes out, hopefully this year, bringing dx11 support ATI cards will be able to battle it out with the green guys on somewhat equal terms. Intel preference will stay however since it is still going to be pretty much single threaded.

DCS is a single thread , with audio offloaded to another thread. This is not planned to be changed with 2.0

The reason buttons are moved closer in is to not make them happen right above the mounting rails. I wasn't sure I could make them with such shallow footprint (worked on a prototype experimenring with tiny SMT tacts with integrated leds) and decided to make the compromise. If jrsteensen pulls it of in 100% precise matter I'll cheer for him. As to your signature, having precise plans is awesome, hard to argue with that. But It is even more awesome when one builds something using those .

значит у вас и у меня разное понимание что такое "отлично". попробовав и то и то( моя старая полетная установка: http://media.fotki.com/1_p,skwsqssqqbqsggbxtwfrdwbfqktt,vi/bstdstbstxwstbrdkqb/6/733156/10200088/DSC_1361-vi.jpg) я не вижу каким образом работать на 1080р телевизоре любого размера может быть лучше чем на 30" 2560х1600 мониторе (CAD). и дело не в мантрах дизайнеров и маркетологах а в плотности пикселей коей у 1080р ТВ нет (размер в этом случае как раз вредит), и в нагрузке на глаза от устройства ращитаного на просмотр с дистанции дивана. установка как на фотографии выше для работы не пригодна совсем, ни для какой. ваше мнение нащет того что клавиатура на коленях это более эргономично чем работа за нормальным комп столом тоже очень , хммм, странное.

I can make panels for you,but If you have budget and space for laser GO FOR IT. Having the tool to make your own stuff can't be beat and you will find more and more uses for it as you go. Besides panels simple mechanics can be made. I started my laser journey with small k40 cheap laser and DSP upgrade. While it made some good parts , if I to do it over again I would skip it completely and go directly to the machine I have now. But 2500K$ is not always very easy to budget . also think of entilation , this crusial aspect is easily overlooked .

I was also planning to build my own pedals. Started with similar cam force load, but was exploring the entire centering assembly being movable by a linear actuator to have adjustable center point. "Hardware trim" so to say. But given I still yet to start on the frame I figured I will not get to pedals this year and in meanwhile I'll get something Slaws pedals are already designed with mounts to add a motorcycle steering dumper and were tested it with a china-fantastic cheapo one. While I wouldn't trust that 50$ thingy on my bike , for these pedals it will be just fine.

Slaws thread is here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=118006 Lucas, the spring tension for the breaks probably could be even more stiffer, but I would say sufficient . world of difference between the floppy brakes on saitek . as far as travel can't tell yet, seems ok. All in all I'm very very happy. Construction is solid, the action is amazingly crisp. I can't spot any freeplay at all, nothing rattles nor squeaks. Transition from saitek combat pedals to this feels very similar to when I upgraded to TMWH from x-52 joystick. I still need to get the hydraulic dampener, was going to skip it but now i think it will really add to the feel, especially near the center.
