  1. I'm not sure how ED and the other developers work together, that's up to them. All that I am saying is that the SMLE was used in both World Wars and the Kar98 is a G98 that was cut down by 7 inches/18 CM, and that the brodie helmet was used in both World Wars though the m1916 stalhelm vs m1935 stall helm and uniforms differed. Here the two helmets are side by side the guy with the mustache is in the m1916 helmet. As stated before I don't know nor do I really care how ED and the other developers work together I'm just stating what I think the bare minimum you would need to do. I could be wrong again I just know it will take a lot of work
  2. I understand that, which is why World War I isn't high on my list but I think it would be nice to have. Some of the changes you have brought up- mainly trenches I have requested already. The next question I have is how hard would it be to convert WWII infantry into World War I infantry? The Germans used the G98 in the first World War and the K98 in the second- so that would need to be lengthened. The helmet and uniform would need to be changed The Commonwealth used the SMLE in both wars as well as the same helmet the uniform would need to be changed. They would have to add period correct tanks. It would be awesome if someone took up the challenge I know the Great War vehicle I'd want to see first would be the FT-17 as they were the only combat vehicles which I know were used in both World Wars and I believe they were used in the Spanish civil war so they would go along nicely with the I-16
  3. World War I aircraft would be awesome, there is the question of how much data is available. As stated before there are 1:1 replicas so we might be able to get that information. The second question is who should do it? One of the problems with DCS is it covers a wide area with an uneven depth. As I have stated before, there is almost nothing Soviet in the second World War and Korean War. It is important to work on an eco system for the modules. This is at least two opposing fighters, assets and a map. I'm not shooting the idea down I am though saying if we get them I'd rather see a new developer who plans to focus their time on developing an great war eco system so we can dog fight over the trenches with proper ground and naval assets fighting.
  4. The MiG-21 does but it doesn't work in vr
  5. I think I should change my vote on the Lynx, but the helicopters I am the most interested in are attack, scouts and weapons capable utility helicopters.
  6. I didn't mention that module as the MiG-19 entered service after Korea so I consider them to be more of a mid cold war aircraft and I think the state of DCS covering the late 1950s to early 1960s deserves it's own thread. we have enough in the WWII asset pack to build a reasonable blue for Korean war brigade but we have nothing for Red For. I consider the early cold war as ending with the end of the Korean war and Stalin's death. I didn't mention the La-7 as that fits in nicely in between the I-16 and MiG-15, it would be rare to find something that served along side the LA-7 but not the MiG-15 or I-16. I know there are no plans which is why I'm always complaining about the lack of early cold war assets
  7. I've been asking for this repetitively. We have the I-16 and the MiG-15 and both need proper supporting air, sea and ground assets
  8. While I figure Vietnam will melt CPUs for a bit- I do think the early and mid cold war eras need to be built up. I'd really like a interor German border map that covers the 1950s through the 80s. I'd like to see the trees get a damage model before Vietnam. Just saying When I'm dropping a load of bombs from my Phantom, Hun or Spad I want don't want Charly to survive becuse the trees are made of Ho Chi Minium.
  9. I have a few modules in mind. If possible the Eurocopter Tiger and Mi-28. I know the Mi-28 probably isn't going to happen unless there is some stripped down export model or early prototype that won't violate Russian laws. The Tiger might be possible. Then the Cobra I think could be two modules. The first would be a single engine cobra the second the super cobra. The UH-60 would be a good companion for the AH-64
  10. The Desalt might be possible Unless it is a WWII Map I don't see how we'll get Taiwan
  11. I have been saying for the longest time ED needs to work on the early to mid Cold War assets. Right now all we have from the early period are the F-51, F-86, MiG-15 and the Blue For assets in the World War II asset pack. I would start to rectify the situation with some Red Army assets in the WWII asset pack. I know a lot of people hate the idea of more asset packs- which is why I would like to see ED work on some land and naval modules.
  12. Yes this should be the default
  13. I brought up WINE as well. As I have stated my desire to see a Linux version is inversely proportional to the amount of work it would take to support it. If DCS works just fine on WINE then Linux support would simply be a matter of mentioning that DCS runs on WINE. If not then I can see why they aren't doing it. I'd rather see ED focus on improving DCS core. I said Linux support would be nice to have but it isn't a high priority for me. As pointed out earlier there are ways to write middleware which can run on multiple platforms so as I said earlier if DCS basically is middleware after the introduction of vulcan and Linux support is simply a matter of menitioning it runs on WINE it would be one thing, but if it actually takes rewriting a large chunk of DCS then I'd hate to see Linux support
  14. I'm with you on that. I wouldn't mind a later version, but a Vietnam era fishbed or Fishcan just as long as we get a variant used in Vietnam. I would love it if it could be done. I am skeptical Though I do want the latest MiGs and Sus as AI assets.
  15. The more stuff getting rendered the worse it would be for FPS. This was half serios half joking but anyway no thanks
  16. Vulkan is a cross platform graphic api. So these aren't exactly counterproductive wishes. However my desire to see a Linux or Mac version is inversely proportional to the amount of extra work it would take Eagle to support them.
  17. And I expect it would effect my frame rates
  18. I know ED has said they have no plans to do so. However I would love it if they wrote for wine so that they could write once and run on both windows and Linux
  19. That would require improving the damage model but it would be awesome especially flying turrets
  20. I think this is what we got in Blackshark III I know when I turn on the helmet mounted sight is is night vison
