  1. That might be accurate for a tank. I have heard of tanks surviving a phantom load of bombs. However there softer vehicles are a bigger issue.
  2. The Navy Phantoms use a bridal system. Next there is a debate in the real world Phantom Community about whether or not a USAF Phanotm's landing gear could take a landing. But I would like to see the USAF Phantoms have a working wire and an arrestor wire as an asset for land bases
  3. This would be awesome. The mod community is great
  4. I figure there should be a few variatants of the Cobra.
  5. I'd rather have better trees than either. Right now they are indestructible bunkers
  6. In the case of the Cobra the TOW is a must have system. anyway I was thinking our Huey was a late 1970s early 1980s version and the best counter part would be the Q or S. The Q was the earliest version to have the TOW missile and may have seen service in the Vietnam war. I know the US Army deployed a handful of TOW equiped helicopters to counter the Easter offensive in 1972 I am not sure if those were the prototypes of the Q or UH-1s. The AH-1Q was declared officially operational in 1973 / 1974 and the S was an upgraded q.
  7. Your post is kind of confusing- you quote me when I suggested that we should have a Cobra that's contemporary to our Huey or have 2 modules for each the UH-1H and the contemporary Cobra and the Venom and Viper ) and say wrong choice and suggest we should get a 1980s version, and then state our Huey is 1980s which would mean a 1980s Cobra would be a good match
  8. my bad I was thinking of the La-9. Anyway IMHO the only solution would be more modules and assets why not toss vulcan on that list too- it would be a cool AI asset at least
  9. I'll be blunt if we only get one AH-1, then I want an early version to go along with our Huey. So I would welcome the Ah-1Z if we also get an older version and a newer version of the UH-1.
  10. I am looking forward to it I believe the La-7 was used in the Korean war so more targets for my sabre. Now we need some ground assets and we'll have a nice 1950s battle brewing
  11. I'd have to agree with that. I'd also like to place pre built squads, platoons and companies on the map. I've posted threads about trenches in the past. Along with the ability to garrison buildings I would also include the ability to storm buildings- basically an enemy unit enters a building then the game rolls some dice and factors in skill and numbers to determine casualties and success. If / when we get Iow Jima as a map, I'd love it if they included the Alaska as an asset. I've posted about the Iowas as well. I'm not a 3D modeler but I don't think the Korea and Vietnam configurations would be that hard to do if you have the WW and 1980s. Korea they were basically the WWII configuration with a helicopter flight deck, New Jersey had her dedicated AA guns removed during Vietnam and the ECM T and antenna on the bow added. The Iowa and New Jersey and both North Carolina-class battleships were in the Mariana's campaign. I figure the Iowas are the only battleships which should go in DCS core. The I-16 and Mig-15 make this mandatory. Right now I'd also add the Nevada I've asked for the invasion fleet multiple times I've asked for a better system as well. I figure the best system would be the following <category>-cruiser, destroyer, battle cruiser, battleship. (ECT) -for cruisers this might be heavy, light, guided missile, for battleships it might be dreadnought and fast battleship <class> <subclass> <fitting>- for example if we are looking at the New Jersey we might have WWII, 1950s, 1960, 1980s for the Iowa-class battleships <ship> I don't care if the ships are the same livery/ different model or different model we might have an option like <any> which assigns a differnt ship in each class then in the payload editor we would have a livery menu. I have to disagree with these being AI- I think these would be awesome as modules
  12. Can we get the charles de gaul carrier battle group too
  13. Better/more naval assets (ships, submarines, shore based missiles, and maritime aircraft) would be awesome.
  14. A FF su-25 is on the top of my list of soviet cold war modules especially with the Afghanistan theater I want to see the WWII and Korean war era aircraft more to go with the I-16 and MiG-15.
  15. I left a few things out and this is one of them. We might not have all the right versons but we do have all the sandies covered. The A-10 is out already, the A-7 and A-1 are in the pipe The dynamic campaign will be awesome I think that could use it's own wishlist
  16. I've posted threads about that one, I've always wanted to preload troops and cargo on vehicles. I'm hoping we'll get that with vulkan and multicore.
  17. Here is my list game mechanics Cargo editor- we should be able to preload troops and equipment on transport vehicles. Airdrop waypoint- the ability to launch/spawn troops and vehicles from amphibious assault ships fast rope repel and hover waypoint for helicopters give artillery the ability to fire multiple shell types and work with a forward observer and spotter plane the ability to load multiple weapon types on ships A generic control template for planes and helicopters, I'm not saying get rid of the vehicle specific ones just give us the ability to set default controls which DCS will use to populate a new module. waypoints for SAR operations bring back the mission classification from Flanker 1 Assets More Naval assets especially WWII naval assets, we have 2 Normandy maps and there is a WWII Marianas map in the pipe so I would like the overlord invasion fleet and some Japanese and American ships for the Marianas. I'd also like more cold war and modern ships. Korean war era assets- we have the F-51, F-86, MiG-15 now we need ground targets. So add some Red army assets to the WWII asset pack as well as some period aircraft to the core Vietnam war era- there are some aircraft in the pipe to flesh out the Vietnam era but anything will be welcome Maps- I'd love to see the fulda gap, Korea and something East front for the I-16 perhaps Kursk modules- Red AF WWII - the IL-2 and 10 are a must. I don't care which Yaks we get as long as they overlap with the I-16 and MiG-15 Red cold war- if possible Su-24, su-25 and MiG-27. Yak-38, su-7 and 9, I'm not too picky really France Super Entendard, Mirage III and V, and jagurar US F-84, F-884F, F-105, F-80, A-26, F-102/6, F-104 and F-111 F2h, FJ, F9F, F6F, SBD, TBF- anything naval from WWII and Korea more Phantoms British- anything really but the following are top on my list Tornado, Sea Harrier, Canberra, Seafire, bucaneer, ( Japan- WWII carrier airwing edited to add more
  18. You are more likely to get the documents with a retired aircraft. Right now we have a nice line up for the Red Cold war aircraft. We have the MiG-15, 19, and 21 Bis. We're have the MiG-23 and possibly the 17 on the way. We have a Su-22 on the way. We also have the Mi-8 and 24. I'd love to have the Su-24, 25 and MiG-27 I don't care who does them. I'd love to see the Su-24 and 25, I don't expect we'll ever get them though I would expect if we did they would be early models. I expect the best way to solve the problem would be better mod support and to add the modern ref for as AI assets. I expect the best we'll get with the Su-35 is some sort of Frankenstein job with a bit here and there. My next wishlish would be to see Eagle to add more to the Korean war era
  19. True the MiG-29 is technically cold war as they started entering service at the end of the cold war, however I'm thinking more 1950s-1970s
  20. I think it would be fine provided we also get built in voice coms and commands
