  1. This is how you do it, and its relatively simple: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121373 Caveat, make sure you have deleted any Japanese units or objects form your mission before you do this. Los
  2. We have a fair amount of experience with Gazelle Multicrew online. One guy flies one guy is the gunner. In fact, in our experience, most of the switches are not even accessible by the gunner even if you can access them with your mouse, same with the pilot. There are occasionally some minor control hinkyness in multicrew particularly around features like autohover, but for now multicrew more or less gets the job done. Cant wait for more AC w this feature. (We fly the L39 as well) YES EVERYONE NEEDS THEIR OWN VERSION OF THE SA342 MODULE.
  3. After landing when I taxing to my final stopping area and go through my engine shutdown routine, I switch to BER mode and have not had any problem. Does it say in the checklists to switch to BER mode right after complete stop or engine shutdown? I dont remember.
  4. Just as a quick Caveat, I too have a komodo collective with the UH1 head. (It arrived last August), I flew around about 30 mins with it, in arma and dcs, then ultimately affixed it to my son's cockpit as it needs to be affixed in somewhere. (Hes a big helo fan) The screw connector that attaches the collective to its base snapped and broke after about another 20 minutes use. Obviously this is alarming given that it took about 8 months to arrive. I contacted Komodo and Richard offered to take it back and repair it, that of course being the one key component that holds the whole device together, a spare part could not be sent out an affixed. I was not very enthusiastic about sending this thing back for another six months. I had my friend MilesD (he makes various parts here on the DCS forum) take a look at it. The part that snapped is 3d printed. Miles is a gifted basement manufacturer, designer, 3d printer and all around mechanical wiz. He pointed out to me that the part had obvious "voids" in it which is why it snapped. (Also the two three position type switches only work as one button press, but those a re minor issues compared to the snapped connector). Ultimately Miles found a compound/glue that we were able to use to fuze the whole thing back together then after a few days of curing, we used a hose clamp as added reinforcement. It has held up since then. The thing is cool looking but the friction knob to hold it in place is less than ideal. Like I said I ended up giving it to my son, and have found that for now, the Warthog throttle remains a superior substitute for a collective in axis range of motion feel, utility and reliability, not the least because this Komodo costs about £600 and takes 6-8 months. For that much money I could buy another Vive or Oculus! However, my son does like using the collective (he didnt have to pay for it.) Anyway, point is...YMMV. I see from the website they are working on a version 2, hopefully they have made some improvements. I have attached my fix in case anyone else ever encounters the problem. Los
  5. I get 45 on DCS 2 and pixel density 1.4. This can drop up to ten fps with an AC like the Mig21. 980ti here. Los
  6. It gets bright the second you move pixel density above 1.4...keep it there or below for now. Los
  7. Sorry was afk for a few. Multi crew works well over the Internet as well not just lan. Be advised that you can get some hinkiness in multi crew that porks autohover, other times it works fine. We have had good success even with one gazelle in multi crew while other flyers are in ka50s. It helps to have the observer coordinating the tactical situation. Good stuff. Los
  8. Yes I understand it is very easy to start...that is what I am dong now. (I am not asking for a tutorial on how to hotwire a viggen :) ). Its not difficult to start and the plane is a pleasure to fly. (Made even more so by the tape player!) I'm just asking if this is a function that's left out for good or not. But I think you answered my question that it may be something added by full release. Thanks. Los
  9. Thanks for the great sim. My more specific question... in just about all the other DCS AC, even the Mig21b there is a start engine or start procedure such as RWIN Home that gets everything ready for mission taxi, including radios and what not. I am missing this here. I notice that even if I set in the editor "start from parking hot", the plane is not completely ready to fly, with comms and even preflight take off trim not set, etc. Is this meant to be like this or a bug. Other DCS aircraft with takeoff from parking hot typically are fully ready for take off.
  10. Ensure that all ogg files are renamed so they are called Song1.ogg song2.ogg, song3.ogg etc etc. Hopefully that helps...
  11. We have done LAN multicrew gazelle and L39c at my place. You just need two copies of DCS and the modules. The LAN game shows up in the standard multiplayer list so dont get confused. Have Fun! Los
  12. That's odd, I just ran that training mission and it worked. I did get the multiplayer join screen but otherwise, got the instructors narrative and dropped the bombs. In the Miz file the trainee aircraft must be set to client instead of player.
  13. Is there a simple start engines command ala rwim HOME in the Viggen or only full start available? Thanks. Los
  14. Another point, it seems to me that every time there is a vive update it resets these settings and you have to redo them... Los

  16. Guys I am running a vive on a 980ti continuously since August and we have a group of six of us that fly together in multiplayer and sometimes fairly large ground battles, and there are AI aircraft, (your usual coop stuff) I have not experienced this issue with stuttering when the enemy drops bombs. The Vive has performed great for me. What do you mean by endless bombings? Is this some kind of WW2 carpet bombing mission? If you give me an idea I can set up a test mission and try and replicate the problem on my end. This is in 1.5 and 2.0. Here's my specs: i7 6700k 4.0 ghz, 32gb DDr4, 500mb SSd, 1TB HDD 980ti6gb card MSIz170a gaming atx. Hope that helps.
  17. BTW have multiple PCs with DCS on my house and on my most powerful machine the tracks cash, on a different one I get farther along before crash, then I rebooted and was able to watch the tracks all the way through. SO try a reboot. Its like every attempt is a crap shoot and sometimes it works.
  18. I too have good performance in Nevada w a 980ti i7 ssd 32gbddr4 and a vive. 45 fps, using pd of 1.4 (brightness bug w anything above 1.4 last I checked)
  19. Los

    Sa2

    Agree!
  20. I can only talk about the pc configurations that my buddy and I are using, of course you have a different rig than us and we are both running 980ti. Point is the vive is a perfectly fine vr experience in DCS and that comes from someone using it regularly since August and has plenty of hours in the rift as well. Los
  21. Guys, My friend (MilesD) and I bought a RIFT and a VIVE at the exact same time, we built the exact same computers together to run VR. (I7, 32gb ram, 980ti, ssd, full warthogs, yada yada) We have both flown in each others rigs multiple times. There is no appreciable difference between the Vive vs RIFT performance that we have noticed while running it on the exact same machines. The "seated" experience in a vive is no less hassle free and effective as a rift. The Vive headset is a little heavier, but unless you are some sort of pencil necked geek, (Sorry Millennials if this causes you to run to your safe space!s) the feeling of either headset is comfortable. We also both purchased 4k 43" monitors as well and have TrackIR,. Frankly I have minimal interest in flying anything other than VR any more its that awesome. (That said I still fly BMS on my regular monitor :( ) The only advantage the vive has over the Rift and it is a BIG one, is roomscale, which in its own right is quite awesome. (but that means the vive costs about in extra $200.) Roomscale is fun, good if you have kids, and more or less gets the Wife on board, if you know what I mean. (I mostly just fly DCS and AH3 beta...also an incredible experience) I am glad we have done this. After almost 30 years of sim flying and having an awesome time of it, our most incredible flying experiences have come in the past six months. It is easier to fly in vr, esp things like very close formation flying and air to air refueling. (Dont eget me wrong I'll be HD Vive when it comes out) The loss of resolution, itself mostly a non-issue in our modern air combat regime, is immensely and by far outweighed by the experience in flying in vr. So if you can afford it...by the F'ing thing (either one). Then get back to me and we'll start talking about setting up vr cockpits as we have done. Just sayin'.... Los
  22. Thanks for this great script. I have a question as well. in our small group, we would like to implement an ejection beacon in game for our multiplayer missions. In Vietnam when a pilot ejected a warbling beacon was automatically activated that the rest of the package could hear on the freq. I have isolated this tone from an actual mission recording (attached). I'm wondering about this piece of script: local _spawnedGroup = csar.spawnGroup(_unit) csar.addSpecialParametersToGroup(_spawnedGroup) trigger.action.outTextForCoalition(_unit:getCoalition(), "MAYDAY MAYDAY! " .. _unit:getTypeName() .. " shot down. Chute Spotted!", 10) local _freq = csar.generateADFFrequency() Would inserting: trigger.action.outSoundForcoalition(_coalitionId, "l10n/DEFAULT/ejectionwarble.ogg") As a second lind here be the right spot? local _spawnedGroup = csar.spawnGroup(_unit) csar.addSpecialParametersToGroup(_spawnedGroup) trigger.action.outSoundForcoalition(_coalitionId, "l10n/DEFAULT/ejectionwarble.ogg") trigger.action.outTextForCoalition(_unit:getCoalition(), "MAYDAY MAYDAY! " .. _unit:getTypeName() .. " shot down. Chute Spotted!", 10) local _freq = csar.generateADFFrequency() Is there a better place or better piece of code to insert? Thanks! Los ejectionWarble.zip
  23. Awesome and thanks I'll give it a go! Los
  24. Howdy all, I was wondering if it was possible to play a sound upon player/client ejection. The sound I want to play is attached below in case anyone else wants it (Sounds of the ejection beacon from Vietnam). I was wondering what you all think is the best combination of triggers to figure this out. I tried Unit speed less than 50 but altitude above 100 and time more than X. I dont think you can hear sounds after ejection but maybe the rest of the coalition can. I didnt see anything in cockpit apartments referencing ejection parameter. barring that is there a way for a player to manually invoke a flag or trigger within game with a key stroke? Thanks. Los
  25. And being able to see footage as well, what with TRks being somewhat porked...
