  1. Don’t worry about the aim 54 no one on the F14 side can figure out how to get Jester to shoot it....:joystick:
  2. Maybe you slept through the part where they announced this is still in Alpha?
  3. watch this to understand some of the basics
  4. I see a lot of assumptions about how easy people think they could spot aircraft w their mark one eyeballs in a real life dogfight. Even a simple general aviation flight in a traffic pattern would very rapidly disabuse you of that notion. You have to work at spotting aircraft in that big sky real life or sim. That’s part of the challenge.
  5. There is a key binding you can map for it.
  6. If you have a warthog there's no shortage of 4-way hat switches or buttons.(?) Mine's on the forward hat switch on my throttle. As it turns out in VR you dont really need anything other than the command that calls up the Jester as its very intuitive and simple to select commands by looking at them then pressing the button again.
  7. The landing pattern is one of the basic fundamentals of flying that every pilot learns from day one. Conforming to the pattern with precise altitudes, power settings, air speeds and positions, helps simplify and make landing safer and more consistent. I can see if you're only experience with flying is sims, this wouldn't be evident. Flying consistent traffic pattern helps/ensures that you land consistently regardless of the airport. Very important for newer and older pilots. Los
  8. The big huge notice at the top of this forum is pretty self explanatory....
  9. And that's why you have Jester.

    Game Flight Mode

My young son started DCS (Or FC it was a while back?) in game mode when he was about 8 or 9, it made him excited to get into flight sims...now he's an actual pilot. Also the notion that its confusing to have these options or it clogs of menus. If you are not bright enough to figure out the option system in DCS its possible you wouldn't be bright enough to fly any of the planes in DCS anyway, so its a bogus argument. Options are always good.
  11. Set PD in steam to 1.4
  12. You dont have to program waypoints or target coordinates on most missions. When you pop into the AC that work was already done my teh mission designer and is embodied by the waypoint system. You can call up your pre-loaded way-points through your MFD and HUD. You might want to go back through the tutorials again and review navigation. You should still write down your waypoints, which ones are which, Alt, speed, wheres the Ip, where the target what it looks like, what weapons your using etc. You do a bunch of set up in the cockpit before you go such as weapon configuration. there are plenty of great youtube vids by guys on here which you can find with a cursory youtube search. If you are completely new to flight sims, there are liekly gaps in your knowledge of basic aircraft handling, navigation, tactical vernacular, and weapons delivery. I dont know what you dont know? 13. Dont go swanning about, instead go on an actual mission (there are plenty out there and many with good briefings) with a flight plan a target etc. Go there do the job and get back. LOs
  14. Is their a window behind you with the sun. If so cover it up. When you first start trackIR look at the head tracking image it should show you the additional lights that are screwing you up. Los
  15. Just some observations from my viewpoint. So I hopped into the pit and donned the two finger controls. They are adjustable to fit different finger widths. The devices are not heavy and did not impede the normal operation of the HOTAS. I flew an F5 free flight and an F18 CASE I recovery flight. The devices worked as advertised and I was able to use both fingers on all sides of the cockpit without issue. The mouse pointer was accurate and required no fiddle F'ing to select or manipulate switches. I was able to manipulate whatever switch I wanted immediately as if I was operating actual switches regardless of the time crunch I was under to select a feature. Miles had added a new function since the last time I had tested. This is a zoom feature. You move your finger up to your face and this zooms in the cockpit. Then you can move or manipulate things as normal from a zoomed in view even if you reextend your finger. When you are done zooming you twist your finger right and it unzooms. It took a couple tries till I had the maneuver down pat. I noticed no jumping or twitching of the mouse cursor. It worked well and control of the cursor passed perfectly fine between both fingers. (The one that is raised the highest controls the cursor.) I feel that Miles has developed a fine piece of kit! I should note that this was tested on a rift. I hope to do a VIVE test ASAP. Cheers... 16. exactly...
  17. It seems like some of you guys have never tried multiplayer before. Seat assignment occurs before anyone ever gets into the aircraft right after server connect but before getting in the AC. There's no jumping anywhere. And as mentioned the pilot must accept. BTW there was already a long and dragged out thread on this issue earlier.
  18. C-101cc multicrew works well...ave flown w a friend on several occasions... Los
  19. The UH-1 fits both bills
  20. Best to treat the multiplayer pattern as if you are flying into an uncontrolled airport. State intentions on the servers TS channel or common freq and key eyes open.
  21. The difficulty is predicated on your ability and motivation to learn....
  22. look at the point control thread around here. Its coming out soon. i've tried it and its awesome... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=218861 Los
  23. Its the Mods that make Arma 3 awesome and still going strong over the years. Feature not a liability.
  24. I agree with Zoomer. Just another non-issue forum users cook up to dissipate nervous energy while waiting for the F-14... :book: Los
  25. Well neither is the ATFLIR pod so it works out just fine...
