  1. lol they gotta force that new stick on us... updating the software to older sticks wont make them money :music_whistling:
  2. Sorry for the double post, but I actually just checked my tracking and it's active! says delivery by end of the day tuesday!
  3. I got the email too. I have expedited shipping though... awfully early, I mean far away from the release date to be making shipping labels dont you think...? I have high hopes =)
  4. A-10 is easier to fly, crazy complicated avionics. KA-50 is tricky to fly, but pretty simplistic avionics. That's the quick and dirty of it.
  5. Conspiracy theorist much?
  6. You can always play it as a quick mission, as you can with any mission in DCSW. Simply go to mission, drop down menu, FC3, campaign folder, and it's in there somewhere. I forget what it's title is; snoop around until you find it! :pilotfly:
  7. Thank you! I thought it was a good idea too... Doesn't kill the mudhens, but it foils the attack for sure. Another problem with the scripting, the mudhens MUST die. Even if one limps back to base, you won't get a success.
  8. This mission gave me a LOT of trouble too. I had an INGENIOUS tactic that worked but I still failed the mission. Take off, fly straight for the mudhens, then do this: Lock one up, launch, he freaks out and drops his A2G payload. Break lock go for the next guy. Rinse and repeat until the mudhens have no more bombs left! But they just fly over the runway harmlessly and the mission fails anyway. Sigh. I eventually beat that mission by taking off from the taxiway, burning HARD for the fighter sweep, taking 1 or 2 with me on the way, LAND at nalchick, refuel and rearm, and wait patiently for the F-16s to complete their SEAD and turn around. Once they do, go for the mudhens. Honestly, a lot of luck is required as well. I've had missions where the initial flankers kill the eagles flawlessly and were there to help, and I've seen them get wiped out from the get go. Hope this helped...

    Fantasy modules

I read through the whole thread, amazed no one said it: The RAH-66 Comanche. Most of the info on it is declassified; I'm friends with the lead test engineer. Really cool dude. I got to sit in it at Fort Rucker's Museum 2 years ago. Both finished prototypes are in back in storage, rotor blades removed and up on jacks. To this day, that helicopter is still 20 years ahead of its time... and it was going to be in the field by today were it not canceled in 2004. Well... supposedly. I guess it was pushed back A LOT. See my avatar if you don't already know what it is.
  10. I ordered mine. Not going to lie, I'm raging pretty hard about the non-dual stage trigger, but the HALL sensors, number of hat switches, and low price tag outweigh that con. Plus I can sell my X52 pro and X52 (lol) to recoup most of the price.
  11. Love it. Thanks!
  12. The only thing turning me off to installing the 1.2.7 release is the separate install. I don't want to reconfigure all my graphical settings, hotas configs, etc. I'd rather just have it replace 1.2.6 Maybe next time, have the beta replace the previous version, but offer users a choice? Warn them it's beta?

    WTB: X-65

I'm looking to buy a saitek X-65. If you have one you want to part with, shoot me a PM :joystick:
  14. I remember reading in this book about the F-15 how easy the AIM-54 was to avoid. When the 15 and 14 would do DCAT together, a simple turn at long range was enough to cause the launching aircraft to lose lock and the missile was unable to reacquire it. Or something of that nature. May not be modeled in the game, or I could be mistaken. I'll try and find the book and reproduce it here.
  15. huh. Must be the placebo effect or maybe I'm just becoming a better pilot :smartass:
  16. I may be late to the game here, but did anyone notice a difference in the missiles in the latest patch? I thought they were a tad better...
  17. To kind of add to this thread, the screen no longer fades to black when my pilot starts to black out either; though he can still lose consciousness!
  18. aw. well there goes that! Thanks for the info
  19. So I had NO IDEA what the resource manager was, so I looked in the manual to find out. Pretty neat! There's a picture of the resource manager window... and did anyone look at the list of aircraft? Ka-27... Ka-50... ka-52?!?!? wait when did this happen?! Go look for yourself! page 218!
  20. Then how is ED doing the Su-27SM at a DCS level? You're crushing my dreams here man!
  21. And itll stay that way. I asked a while back, about pilots killed in the aircraft. They dont look dead at all; no blood splatter on the canopy, not slumped over the controls (til huey) etc. The response I got back, was if they implemented blood on the canopy or went any further denoting the dead pilot in the aircraft, they'd have to jack up the simulation's ESRB rating. I would imagine shooting or running over parachuting ejectees would be even more gruesome.
  22. Nope, it's been said before the only thing the "good/average/excellent" AI options does, is increase/decrease the time it takes for a unit to see you, and the range. And its very little difference at that. The engagement itself, accuracy, all that is cookie-cutter same yes. Was going to mention this, can't wait for some human factors modeling!
  23. I love that. Get frustrated, shot down, but want more? SWITCH AIRCRAFT CARRY ON
  24. I was about to say, I got fed up with it and deleted ALL The russian fighters. Didn't fire a single shot; walked the mudhens over to nalchik and bombed it. Next mission: do it again at a farther away airbase. ARE YOU KIDDING ME.
