  1. Crappy 3D model, nightmare cockpit, nonsense loadout. Uspectacular flying, too low on final. Music, well... Hey, you asked for it, nothing personal, tastes are different.
  2. The English Version DVD Box will arrive sooner and will be distributed from the UK for Europe. I don´t have a date and spricing info for that, but I´m shure it will be available all over Europe from stores like simware etc.
  3. First: No, not yet planned. Second: Yes. German localized DVD version will be in stores on March 6th 2009 for € 39,99.
  4. It is in preparation for "DCS: Leo", to be released in 20XX, right after "DCS: Spetsnaz". It will feature 4-person multiplayer and wiggling with those wings will be part of the startup-procedure. They also serve as airbrakes for a sudden stop, as on the Mercedes SLR. Of course! What a question...
  5. Hey Wags, Thanks for bothering to comment! As the saying goes: "No news is also news." or something like that... By telling us that you guys are aware, that might cease these nonsense speculations somewhat... ...for maybe a week or so...;)
  6. Nice, however, Neutrashimy is not hard to land on, especially with the rearmost antenna having no collision model. Try the Moscow, that flightdeck is really tiny and therefore much harder with wind and ship movement.
  7. Hi @ll and Happy New (Simming) Year! In preparation for this year's LLTM from April 2nd to 5th in Ahaus, I have begun drafting a concept and schedule for this year's LockOn Competition, taking into account feedback from the previous years' events. One of the major requests was more free time and a less packed mission schedule. Therefore, I have decided to keep Saturday Evening free for beer and socializing. Futhermore, the combat missions will no longer consist of multiple rounds, but only one single sortie. This will leave ample time for briefing and team tactics discussion before the flight. The dogfight matches will no longer be "best of three", but only one single round, making for a shorter dogfight tournament. Nevertheless, there will be enough competition events offered for those who like to indulge in a full weekend of LockOn flying. As you might know from the past, you do not need to participate in all those events to be successful in the overall competition. Just make sure you are on time to join the briefings of those events you want to participate in. Especially the new "single sortie" mode for combat missions should provide for less stress than we experienced in the last years during a 3-hour mission time block . Here is a preliminary draft of the LLTM 2009 LockOn Competition Schedule, likely subject to change: - All times are local time which is Central European Summer Time or UTC+2. Friday, April 3rd, 2009 08:00-12:00 Build-Up, Free Flight 12:00-14:00 LLTM Welcome Ceremony, Lunch 14:00-17:00 Air Race 17:00-18:00 Dinner 18:00-21:00 Combat Mission 21:00–01:00 Dogfight Tournament Saturday, April 4th, 2009 08:00-09:00 Free Flight 09:00–12:00 Combat Mission 12:00–13:00 Lunch 13:00–16:00 Combat Mission 16:00–17:00 Free Flight, if necessary: Dogfight Finals 17:00–20:00 Combat Mission, Dinner after briefing & before takeoff 20:00–01:00 Free Beer (5th Anniversary vJaBoG32) Sunday, April 5th, 2009 08:00–10:00 Free Flight, if necessary: Dogfight Finals 10:00–14:00 Solo Aerobatic Displays, Lunch 14:00–15:00 Free Flight, Packing 15:00–17:00 LLTM Closing Ceremony This preliminary schedule will most probably change after coordination to incorporate the time requirements of the Falcon4 and IL2 competitions regarding food and briefing room times. If necessary, one of the combat missions will be dumped. I am open to ideas and suggestions in this thread, or via E-Mail to woodstock@virtual-jabog32.de Expect the LLTM2009 Homepage by Head Event Manager Jan "Ice" Hilt up and ready for participation sign-up in the next couple of weeks. Expect the full LockOn Competition Manual including the finalized schedule available for download in the first weeks of March. Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible in April in Ahaus! Best regards, Woodstock LLTM2009 LockOn Competition Manager
  8. Yeah, looks like the devs believe in bad luck, they even prevent the use of the onboard number "13" in the LockOn payload screen. As an analogue solution to that, I suggest simply naming the next patch "1.14".
  9. Urze, any hint on how to get to the recorded show on the game-tv page?
  10. Did you make sure that the ammo dump or truck on the Turkish FARP are also Turkish units or at least in the same coalition?
  11. You have to have at least the Intercom or one other radio on in order to hear audio messages or warnings. Some of them, like e.g. Nadia fire warnings also need the engines fully running and the generators on, they will not sound on ground power alone.
  12. Nice thing about this is that you can edit the HUD Test text to read whatever you want, maybe something like "YOU SUCK AT FLYING ME". Just edit \Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Scripts\Aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\HUD\HUD_test_page.lua and keep your text in upper case letters. BTW, I´ve found another easter egg: there´s a secret stealth mode where you can reduce your Radar Cross Section. By hitting LCtl-E at least ten times you can hide all your rotor blades from enemy radar and shortly thereafter you will disappear completely from their screens. Then you can continue sneaking in low and slow...
  13. It´s not physically modelled, it´s a simple scripted event. "If airspeed larger X animate closing door." Otherwise you could get it too dangle on lower speeds doing a steep left bank and do other funny things with it. That would be physics modelling.

  16. When it´s ready. Sorry, couldn´t resist... :music_whistling: I read something about early next year, but it´s not in their hands, local rating boards, manufacturers and distributors playing a role as well.
  17. Nope, this is not an RC helo with reverseable blade pitch.
  18. That arcade mode is not a feature, nor a bug, it´s a VIRUS! First Jim, now Groove... INFECTION ALARM! Step away from it, fellows, or we´ll all be buying gamepads soon! Happy holidays @ll!
  19. Flight Manual Page 6-14 (.pdf document page 294)
  20. More like 10-12 months, since it was said that they are aiming at 9 months after the boxed release has left the house.
  21. How do you do that from within the cockpit, if not in the way described above which leaves the course needle non-functional?
  22. Yes, it was stated long ago that the possibility of a LOFC patch would be looked at after BS, and I´d welcome one, of course, but not at any costs. However, with Wags stating that part of the team occupied with BS DVD release and most of the others already having jumped onto the A-10C, I wouldn´t bet money on it. There might well be a BS patch, but even if not, I expect all BS bugfixing and patching latest to be integrated in the next module's first release. That would be sustainable if they achieve a release cycle of less than 12 months. We´ve seen LO patches taking longer than that... But who knows, ED have surprised us with some very unexpected decisions in the past, so one might even see something as seemingly unlikely as a LO patch... Just my two € cents, no insider info behind it.
  23. It seems to work for me if I edit waypoints (change coordinates) already in the INU from the mission editor. However, in case there were no INU waypoints preprogrammed, if I create new ones inside the mission, the course selector window and double needle in the HSI do not work in Auto Mode, they do not display the course between the current waypoint and the preceeding. Using manual mode and setting the course there is no option since the heading bug does not work as a bearing indicator then, so there´s no way to judge if left or right of course. Is it a feature that the (automatic) course select needle works for changed but not for created waypoints? The heading bug working as bearing-to-waypoint indicator in Auto Mode seems like a very strange behaviour to me, I just don´t get the Russian logic of displaying stuff on this HSI. I´d have expected the thin RMI (dedicated ADF) needle to have a toggle switch between ADF and INU waypoint as source, similar to the Airbus RMI selectors between VOR1/ADF1 and VOR2/ADF2. In this case the Ka-50 HSI could be used like the other Russian instrument represented in LockOn where one aligns the small bearing needle with the double course needle to establish on course, instead of having a CDI like in western HSIs.
  24. Our download section is open to anyone willing to share high quality work like skins, movies etc. with the community. http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads
  25. Good news for the PC flightsim community: Despite their sad loss, Dieter´s family managed to keep the peripheral hardware business alive and are currently rebuilding production. On the slightly updated homepage the first items of the not yet complete again product list are offered for purchase. They state that they expect the full original procuct range to be available soon, including the not yet orderable F-16/C pedals for the TM HOTAS Cougar. http://www.dhs-electronic.de/home.htm I wish them the best of business success and once more offer my condolences.
