Well Ive tried it and it works, which leads me to the conclusion that spin characteristic for MiG-21 as of now are incorrect (bug). MiG-21 spins are unstable and oscilatory in pitch, yaw and roll. Right after onset of the spin controls are to be set neutral and aircraft should recover. If alerons are applyed into the spin oscilation are even more pronounced, if deflected oposite the spin aicraft can experience rotation along its longitudinal axis. This behaviour acording to the manual was much better represented in version 1.2.14 before the change to FM in my opinion.
-
What you just said is just about completely oposite (save the rudder part) of what any manuals I red including MiG-21 say about spin recovery.

Does the MiG-15 guncam save video to some file for future use? Because that would be nice.

Should not be possible without pressurised suit for more than a minute or so. According to ISA 20k is above Armstrong limit, and at that altitude water in body starts to boil at about 37°C.

No it isnt APU, its a DC Starter-generator. When starting it is used to spool up the engine and in this mode it uses batery power. When engine is up and running it changes its fiunction to gerate DC power for electric systems. Edit: I dont know what Starter-generator is used on R-25, but on R-13 it was GSR-ST-12000VT.

Huh, realy? -- There is a perfectly OK procedure for landing MiG-21 developed already and it is in manuals, I suggest you try to follow it. Works for me every time. Why people try to make their own (out of limits) I dont get.

For sabre sure, but not for MiG-15. To my knowledge engine of MiG-15s did not produce any smoke. I actualy consider smoke from MiG-15 now as a bug.

[EVALUATING / NO BUG] Almost impossible to stall ?
Golo replied to CoBlue's topic in Flight Dynamics
Really, spins improved? Can you explain to me how? Before, when you got MiG-21 into its characteristic spin oscilations and let go of controls it sorted itself out just like manual said. Now when you get to the spin (flat spin since 1.2.15) and let go of controls, you can enjoy fall to your death. It does not behave according what manual says at all. -
[EVALUATING / NO BUG] Almost impossible to stall ?

I have to agree. One other thing I tested after update was spins and as of now they dont behave like manual said they should. Now it just sets into flat spin. Before the update there were characteristic 3 axis oscilations just like manual said. I dont know what changed in FM, but this just isnt MiG-21 anymore . -
[NO BUG / EVALUATING] 1.2.15 slight tendency to roll right
Golo replied to Eldur's topic in Flight Dynamics
I would assume this is not a bug, but gyroscopic reaction moment of the engine. -
You are probably thinking about F-8 Crusader.

Awesome, thx.

The point is that he didnt make just video for entertaiment. What he did was more of an educational video and as such should be held to the higher standard both in correctnes of the facts and in presentation.

I was on Virtual Aerobatic server one day thinking what to do and this is what came of it. Its almost unedited save 2 cuts cos of text artifacts on screen, so its a litle bit long. 2A5l6DLz-0Q

The LG retraction and extension is one thing and it uses main hydraulic system (unles emergency extraction). And wheel brakes is another thing and it uses compressed air of main pneumatic system (unles emergency braking). If you leave the LG lever up the wheels will be using compressed air for braking continuously from main pneumatic system until empty. Thats why you have to put LG lever back to neutral position, or you will loose all your main compressed air. Leaving LG lever down on landing does not have any negative effect to my knowledge.
-
Are you sure you didnt damage you LG while performing touch and go? Because LG extension and retraction is handeled by main hydraulic system (unles in emergency extension by emergency pneumatic system)

That start up video is just wrong. It is wrong on so many levels I cant even start to describe it. Why is somebody doing tutorial videos if they dont understand the aircraft systems is beyond me. All I can say is DO NOT go by this presented procedure, you are better of with start up procedures from game manual or RL manual.

Already happened in Lock on nearly a decade ago. Anyway I would be for whatever version, its still F-14 = Awesome.

Without question make it as real as it can get, with cheat options for those who want it if possible.

Both RL and in game manuals state 490l FT - 5g limit, 800l FT -4g limit. Even so you can go little past this limit without detaching the stores. If I recal correctly from my tests, it even depend on quantity of fuel in them.

OK, then its a question of a magnitude and frequency of those oscilation. To be honest I was wondering about them too and also of inecial rotation effect that sometimes accompanies stalls/spins. But since I have no data on them im not questioning them because of unnatural feel.

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015
Golo replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Yes there is, its called drag. -
The fact that it looks unnatural to you is not prove that it is wrong. Go read manual sections on stalls and spins an you will find out about unsteady oscilations around all 3 axes.

I dont know, I tried it and used aprox. 1,5km to T/O, seems reasonable to me. 40°C, No wind, 4 x FAB-250 800l FT ASO-2 TW-10331kg Test NR Heavy.trk
