As practical to code, I would say. You probably know the function/operation of the WS handle as described in NATOPS is way more complex than just raise/move/lower. I this is good enough for sim imho now, but there are definitely some bugs/wip things that need looking at.
-
It should be only possible in 20° position, period. But now in game if you do that by dragging the handle to 20° and stowing it like you showed in video it does not move when wings sweep. I didnt know about the mousewheel, so I did it by dragging only to 68° and stowing it (which should not be possible as I understand it) but the handle moves with wings sweep so Ive been doing it like that. Im sure there is a bug report about it somewhere. Plus there are some other bugs/not implemented things with the emergency WS handle (like for example you can not stow it in the oversweep now, also in a bug report somewhere).
-
If you have emergency WS handle out of spider detent normal operation via CADC and throttle control (does not mater if you have the switch in auto detent) is bypassed. Master reset will only revert control to CADC and throttle control if the emergency WS handle is in spider detent which can only be done in 20° wing position.

You are supposed to do steps 44 to 46 in manual WS mode, not ememergency WS mode. As you said, throttle WS switches dont work in emergency mode. As for steps after 48 its just not very clearly written and missing some steps I would say (like coming out of oversweep again).

Do not move the wing sweep handle all the way forward from oversweep, it will not move if you do that, as you shown. I always only bring it to 68° position push it down and press master reset. Never failed to move for me that way.

Only if you have expanded chaff adapter installed.

Agreed, this really needs to happen.

Yea imagine this, you are sitting in back doing your job and for some reason some higher power will start messing with your switches and then disappears, of course you will set everything as it should be again. If you want to get radar to stby just tell him via menu he will keep it off, I can assure you of that myself for sure. Or if you want to mess with his switches yourself disable him.
-
Is he broken? I have not noticed. Either use him or disable him, you cant have it both ways and cherry pick what you would like.

Who and for what Would you like to buy any new modules?
Golo replied to mosqui's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Yes, absolutely. What is even point of having nice graphics when you are unable to fly with it. Dont get me wrong I love how the version 2.7 looks, but it is not worth loosing half of my FPS over. If you cant do it without significant performance loss, which is most important feature for me, then dont do it. ED I suggest instead of testing new versions on your supercomputers, you get mid-low system for that and then decide if its good enough to implement them. Because loosing 30FPS on high end system is inconvenience, on mid-low system it is reason for sim retirement. -
PSA: F-14 Performance/FM Development Status + Guided Discussion
Golo replied to IronMike's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
F-14A NATOPS manual. If you read it carefully tho, not just selectively, there is a "launched at maximum weight" part. F-14A can definitely launch at mil. AB usage? It depends. -

Oh wow, its written on the internet, therefore it must be indisputable truth. I stand corrected. -

No, F-14s with TF30 could take off without burners just fine. -
Simple fact is that ED absolutely suck at optimization. Since 2.7 to this day Ive lost 25FPS and I cant get that back no matter what (all) setting I lower, I gain maybe 5FPS back. So thats 25FPS down the drain for nothing, there isnt anything noticeable (except clouds they are pretty) for me to justify loosing 25FPS. Take your clouds and whatever else and shov.... and gimme my 25FPS back. Because now its nigh on unflyable.

That is correct.

Disengagement of pitch and roll SAS and need for all SAS channels to be ON for AP to function is definitely in the game manual, and NATOPS. That +-200fpm, that was stated in past update from HB. Its general knowledge here, but I cant find reference to it anywhere else either.
-
If you want to engage altitude hold, you have to be within +-200fmp on VSI, and more or less trimmed hands off, otherwise it wont engage. Paddle will also disengage pitch and roll SAS, you wont be able to engage AP in that case. All SAS channels have to be ON for AP to work.

I have just done some gear/flaps, pitch moment tests and I have some notes/questions. Test conditions: F-14A, clean config, around 5k ft, at 15 AOA, trimmed to hands off level flight, at about 8k fuel. When lowering gear alone (flaps up), there is a some pitch down moment which is what I would expect, razing gear will produce pitch up moment which is also OK imo. Next with same conditions when lowering flaps (gear up) there is also some pitch down moment, again OK as I wold expect. When razing the flaps there is a pitch up, again OK as expected. So far so good, but now comes the wtf moment for me. Same test conditions, I lower the gear (flaps still up) there is that pitch down, I compensate for it still holding 15 AOA, then I lower the flaps and instead of pitch down as I expected (from before that I tested flaps only) there is a quite a pitch up. Nose goes to 20° pitch line, 3k fmp up, I watch it still hands off as doing that bleeds off enough speed so it sets back to 15AOA at lower speed higher alt. Interesting, I raze the flaps just to see what happens and there is again pitch up now to 25° pitch line, AOA goes to 11 as they say (actually to 25) and Im in stall prevention mode. Interesting. Now, why would flaps have different pitch moments just because of the gear state? With gear up they have pitch down moment as I would expect. With gear down they have pitch up moment. Why? All this at on speed 15AOA. Why are they not behave same regardless of gear position?

I like it, but I would change layout for Scan elevation and Scan azimuth. Go symmetric wherever possible. Scan elevation 1:Auto, 2:+1.6dg, 3:+3.2dg, 4:+6.4dg, 5:Level, 6:-6.4dg, 7:-3.2dg, 8:-1.6dg Scan azimuth 1:Auto, 2:20R, 3:40R, 4:60R, 5:Center, 6:60L, 7:40L, 8:20L

no bug Gear Alternate Release Reset Control in wrong position
Golo replied to TheCamper's topic in Bugs and Problems
Its not automatic switch, after landing using LG alternate release you can not operate NWS. You have to put that switch into reset position yourself and you will be able to use NWS again, if you have utility hydraulic pressure available. Then put it back to OFF after. I found that its not an instant reset witch, in my case I had to wait couple seconds for it to restore NWS with running engines. -

Golo replied to TheCamper's topic in Bugs and Problems
I agree, I can use NWS just fine with that switch in OFF position. It just for reset after using LG alternate release. -
I had it same, I just unplug and replug throttle, it helped with that.

HAT switch UP for nose down trim, HAT switch DOWN for nose up trim.
