You have to assign an action to the unit in the triggers and actions menu.

There already are some 'real' VOR stations. You can find them in the ME if I remember correctly.
-
A transmitter with a frequency within the VOR range does not make it a VHF omnidirectional range station! A VOR uses two antenna's with two radio waves that are in antiphase. The difference in time for reaching the receiving antenna can be used for triangulation.

After some more research I can conclude that the electrical system is clearly WIP. Please refer to my findings below and correct me if I'm wrong as I am not an aircraft technician. If not it's not WIP, I hope the testers would be so kind to file an official bug report. DC VM readings under different conditions: BEFORE FLIGHT Everything OK DURING FLIGHT Battery (on) - 28V (should be 24V) Battery (off) - 28V (yes, it's turned off!) Main Gen (on) - 28V Main Gen (off and reset) - 28V (Should indicate 0V ofc. Does show 0V when main gen breaks down) STB Gen (on) - 27V STB Gen (set to starter) - 27V (Should be 0V) ESS Bus (Batt, Gen on) - 28V ESS Bus (Batt off, Gen on) - 28V ESS Bus (Batt on, Gen off) - 28V (see Battery (on) - should be 24V) NON-ESS Bus (automatic on) - 0V NON-ESS Bus (normal on, Batt on, Gen on)) - 28V If you switch the NON-ESS Bus back to automatic it will read 28V instead of 0V. You can't revert this action

Don't know, don't want to know. I want to know how the Huey and the Mi-8 are coming along. Both need a lot of attention before the beta tag can be removed.
-
I think this is just what PilotMi8 likes to see (for himself).
-
Mhhm so maybe this is just more realistic, which is always a good thing  I can't remember shaking <110kts on previous versions though...
-
Hey, After the introduction of version 1.2.6 it is no longer possible to reach cruise speed (109kts) without the first symptons of retreating blade stall. In other words: there is a lot of shaking when you fly 109kts. From what I remember shaking always started more towards 120kts, which is closer to Vne for the Huey. I don't think this behaviour is correct unless someone can prove otherwise.

Ahh thats why I need about +25 degrees for my usual range. I thought the chart was crap :music_whistling:

The three switches enable the circuits required for the anti-ice system to work. You can leave them off if you don't expect temperatures below 5C. It looks like the helicopter in the video is on a mountain or something so it could be already around 5C or maybe they're expecting lower temperatures further down the route. Engine starting depends on the wind. From the Mi-17 manual (you can find it in the Doc folder): (2) The engines starting order depends on the wind direction and dictated by the even usage of the established service life of the engines as well. The first to be started is the engine at the leeward side. This could have something to do with heat or gasses coming from the windward engine that disturb the starting of the leeward engine. This is only my guess... EDIT Ahhh Sniped

Yes, Mi-8 is also missing the sounds! I got shot down today and I didn't even know I was taking fire...
-
Thanks for this mod. It's great!

Was it on a FARP and are you sure that FARP has the required vehicles on it? Are you sure the airport belongs to your coalition and is supplied with the desired weaponry? Using mic switch and intercoms to open rearming and refueling window? Or press Lctrl + Lshift + C to open the door, ground crew should work then without intercoms.

Talking about impact sounds... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89067 No impact sounds from HEI rounds is a bug with a long history for me. Wags shows that it's not broken in his A10A promo video, then V1.2.6 comes out and... Nothing! Same for the 23mm HEI rounds. EDIT: Sorry wrong impact sounds... I thought on the ground. Disregard post it is off-topic.

I got used to the force trim on the virtual pedals. Just center your non-ffb pedals while you trim. I requested this feature too but if they add the option I'm not going to use it (anymore).

DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Screenshot Thread
TurboHog replied to Rammit's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Couldn't resist adding the S-5 rockets because it is a realistic option. Maybe no longer used by the Russian Air Force, but I think the Afghan Air Force still uses them on their Mi-17's (My source: ) -
Ohhhh... That makes sense. About the issue of the voltmeter always indicating 28V no matter which VM source you choose: I'll check back later when the Huey is done.
-
Allright, nice findings! Will try ASAP. But I mean of course that the manual will cover this subject in a more comprehensive way.
-
How do I get rid of the "armament overlay"?
TurboHog replied to swe_badger's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Or Lctrl + Lshift + H. I sometimes turn it on to quickly check how many rounds/rockets I have left. -
1 - no, likely to be implemented later on. 2 - Wait for the English manual! The included Mi-17 manual doesn't really cover this subject.
-
Anyone with some more knowlegde about the electrical system able to help me out ;)?

In my opinion beta products shouldn't be on sale at all. It's like BST treats the beta Huey as a final release version. I have never seen a beta product that could only be 'pre-ordered' go on a crazy sale like this one.

Thanks EB. We've all been waiting for this!

Can I already use the R-863 preset channels? Where can I find the file to enter my own radio frequency presets? After a quick scan in Cockpit\scripts I couldn´t find anything. However, if you choose to transmit on preset frequencies (tiny panel just above R-863 freq selector, selector is above pilot's head) you won't be heard on the frequency that you've set manually so the presets must be defined somewhere.
