The Mi-8 is approaching the final stages of development so there is enough to tease about. If updates for the Mig-21 are interesting, how could the almost beta DCS: Mi-8 require an automated script for updates?
I think it's important for a developer to let potential buyers know what is going on behind the scenes. Look at how games these days are promoted long before they will be released. A good example is Rome II Total War, which owes much of it's support and pre-orders to the many preview and behind-the-scenes video's.
I don't understand why some people on these forums consider newsflashes, screenshot updates as not necessary. You should think of it as an investment for BST. One that will pay for itself after release or during pre-order.
