ECM is not implemented inside 50km range, but Blueforce Air-Air missiles keep receiving improvements to work nicely inside that range. Red Air defenses are not properly simulated. They keep Search radars ON to make the job easy to the new modules, exposing their position quickly to the new Blueforce fighters, even when the Air defenses could be with an EWR in his group, or they have in real life passive optical sensors. doesn't matter, they want to be radar ON all the time. We don't get GCI and is not any announcement made by the management of this simulator until date about this important feature. So seem not to be even in plan. This case affect directly to Mig-21, Mig-23 and Mig-29A and S, 9.12 and 9.13 versions were still intended to be operated in a GCI radar network. Not seem to be the same case for some Blueforce counterpart. As Aim-7M have been improved and they even added a new version Aim-7MH closer to the in game R-27ER performance, Or Blueforce Hawk air defense system have been improved to launch to a 40km range and not even medium altitude, just against 2000m target our new Hawk missiles actually have almost the same range of S-300 in game. Basically our new Hawk is a long range Air-defense vs the rest of all Redforce SAMs still waiting for improvements. They bring to the Sim missiles those not yet even have 10 years full operational as Aim-9X and at the other hand the R-27P (passive anti-radiation A-A missiles) already announced by official military statements that this missiles have been operational for long and is actually offer for export as the exporter company officially announce in his page: Production (ktrv.ru) Russian Artillery MLRS cause enormous lag in a multiplayer game, so nobody use them. Not a word about improvements on that. I think you misunderstood what he ask. In the simulator is not anything close to the 2000 in the red side. Not even Air defeses such is a powerful side in redfor. You are talking about the balance should be left to host and players, but for example even when The Fighter Collection Company doesn't order to programmers do an improvement in to redfor. We still get more and more improvements in Bluefor, for example Aim-7 have become a 40% capable than R-27R. guys this last update is killing the memory. The game is unstable. I did all what you told me and still not really good. I am missing GUI graphics when I play long or do it something.

I will be so happy with a FC3 level, as full simulation will be almost impossible. A good flight model and I will say we can have a moving map in one MFD. probably a ground radar mode.

My friend there is not official documentation because Mig-21 was not made originally to face BVR blue forces (long range combat) We have a problem in this community as you can see above the user Skysurfer answer your thread to troll you and as this forums allow that, that is getting classic actually. About your question: tactics with Mig-21 must be in groups and with GCI. GCI is a ground controlled interceptor not yet implemented in our simulator. The owner of this simulator is a western company and for years we ask for a GCI implementation and seem that is not in the road map for The Fighter Collection company. So basically is very hard teach you some tactics. What we got and what we use actually: We use AWACS and EWR but as those units never tell interception path you never will know if the bandit is flanking right or left or the heading degrees to correct the interception. What I do: I do a sneaky flight until a point that can be a defined front line or a point is safe for you and you know enemy will pass over and from this point I ask for the closest air threat (4 in AWACS radio menu) and if the closest bandit is at 240 degrees I put him on my HSI 240 and I keep him at my 9 a clock and keep asking AWACS to correct this 9 a clock, and again asking and so on. All those must be bellow 500m. after 4 minutes or less I do a loop and again I put him on my 3 a clock and keep my flight below 500m when he is about 25km from me he probably gonna be busy with someone else (you should not be alone in your coalition) at this moment you ask AWACS for his position and you climb looking for him with radar off. Ask again AWACS and when AWACS tell 15km you turn radar on and lock him. After that is a matter of your combat training skill.

tested again. So when I use player GUI rearming menu. I have only two options 40 Flares with 18 Chaffs, Or 38 Chaffs without flares. then that mean there is a combination of many Chaffs without Flares. that mean the bigger cans are used for Chaffs too. So Why we cant use a combination more flexible instead the standard 40 Flares with 18 Chaffs. If you use the Mig-21 against modern fighter you will know what I am talking about. 18 Chaffs is not enough. If IRL we can increase and combine more Chaffs we should have it this option. It is a very bad situation get out of Chaffs in the middle of a BVR defensive combat.

In this particular module The chaff can are smaller (see pods) and only reserved for chaff. there is not reason to keep the biggest can for flares only as this can size is standard size used IRL for both chaff and flares. Please see pods...

I was playing in some tactics with Mig-21. I found a particular issue as we can’t edit the countermeasures in the editor (still need test this with the in game player GUI armament menu) ones I start on the air I spend the chaffs really quick because I notice I spend more time trying to evade SAHR missiles than IR missiles. So basically I need a bit more Chaff than Flares. i see the smaller containers are for Chaffs only in the Mig-21 countermeasures pods. Believed or not it is very important this extra chaffs. 18 are not really enough. can developers make the option in editor to edit and add more chaffs?

I was reproducing a track with AI carrying Aim-120. For my surprise the AI was waiting for a missile incoming to shoot Aim-120 against the incoming missile and all missiles were a perfect track and hit. The other day I was in a chat and a player was telling to his buddy the way to set the radar mode to shoot down incoming AA missiles. And doing some multiplayers another player was telling the same in the text chat. At the beginning I was thinking maybe is something will not happen against human players. Bum!! today I was doing some training against Aim-120 and happen to me. Two of my missiles downed, not only from F-18 but also from F-16. This is a joke?? I am coming back to STT mode because we are talking about OP in DCS and this unrealistic over powering in combat is not real and the Fan Boys will use it against notching maneuvers and against Helicopters in low speed. You can detect an Helicopter or Notching fighter in a flat desert background, but you can do the same in a irregular plenty of trees terrain. at this point you should trying to convince who?? Micky Mouse Fan Boys god of the DCS air space?

GGTharos the Helicopter was downed in his FARP hovering and not in AA combat. So is not way Pulse STT was involved. Notching low level in a fighter and slow Helicopters are similar cases. that’s why I brought the Helicopter example because the OP in this radar mode is clearly another action against the incoming Mi-24 and at the same time against the AA combats

also making a loop or maneuver in low vertical speed will brake this track for long enough to make a waste that missile on the air, Doesn’t happen in DCS. We are seeing a imbalance and biased implementation in this simulator and they seem to keep pushing on the same direction without go serious job... GGTHAROS you look like the ambassador of all the western unrealistic over power in this so called simulator. If you don’t mind leave the thread free of partially arguments please...

I am talking about Aim-7M doesn’t lose track in any moment. If I get a notch against the aircraft radar how come the missile keep tracking...? What is the signal it receiving at those few seconds...? Moreover... with this overpower simulation we got AA missiles intercepted by this overpower pulse STT. See my last pictures

did you see in my pictures. I am low level at the moment of the notching with the f-14 radar upper me and very close. Totally ground background and doesnt have any effect. this F-14 was a human radar operator. They are cheating and 3Th parties have green light to overpower the modules systems, with the management of this game looking the show. please look in my last picture how they are able to track and hit my missile with this unrealistic and overpower pulse STT.

Well it is a matter to make a test with the S-125 Pechora but removing the P-19 and using an EWR far away instead. That was probably the way those fighters was downed. The Pechora system have a optical device to track air targets in silent mode until the very last moment of launch authorization. If ED add the ability to track visually with realistic range for that optical device on the TRK unit (see real pictures, also our unit have it as ornament only) then we can do via AI this interception. The only you need to do is order Pechora add an specific air target already tracked by the EWR (on F10 view) and the optical device will help TRK radar start visual tracking and launch at the very last moment also this option should be reserved for Expert AI level only because it is a high skill for the Sam operator level IRL. Of course this level of simulation will not happen, because new modules F-18, F-16 and F-14 will be downed by the CA player commanders ones after other using 60s systems in DCS. Also those Fan boys coming from Micky Mouse simulators believe they are god with such a biased game. They will be so sad and will not accept such a realistic ambush tactics by SAMs using IRL tactics and ignored Hardware (the optical systems) by The Fighter Collection (western management owners of the Russian programmers job in ED) Please see my mission below as an example how to ambush a patrol with old systems. In one of my tests one unit was downed and the other was able to leave and come back again later to circle the TRK unit to avoid a launch. In my opinion this AI is over smart. Actually all the F fighters AI are on steroids over smart and all the RU AI are retarded as hell. You know... 60s SAM ambush.miz

I don't know what is going on with DCS now days. Notch doesn't make any effect to brake a lock. I was making a loop Notching F-14 radar and I never stop listen the SPO-15 RWR lock warning. the same when Aim-7M was tracking me, Notch make any effect to the F-14 radar. Does RUAF and Russians were wrong inventing maneuvers and way to defeat a tracking lock and Wag and Nick have ordered reinvented the super radars for DCS only? Radar or Aim-7M. What could be wrong here. This is a standard in DCS?
