It’s a third gen fighter and to be honest was not even a threat due small numbers of users and units. But yeah was there as a third gen. Not a Four Gen. Mig-29A counterpart as same generation level is F-16A, F-15A Non of them are even in Road plan. F-14 as a Navy fighter is not a direct counterpart for a MiG-29A frontline fighter. Our M2000, our version come a bit late for a Cold War, probably our M2000 is more compare to 9.13 version of Mig-29.

very good information source that explain with details the active participation in the 80s Cold War European Scenery. F-16 appeared FIRST in European countries even before Mig-29 did. 26 January 1979 BAF accepts first F-16 produced by a European assembly line (No. FB-01). 5 June 1979 The Royal Netherlands Air Force accepts its first F-16 https://www.codeonemagazine.com/article.html?item_id=141

As we will get our first Soviet Cold War 4th Gen Fighter Full fidelity, beside him the closest Full Fidelity 80s available for now is the M2000 and F-14A So what is the plan for a Cold War Scenery with Such lack of 80s fighters? Panavia Tornado could be another candidate. F-15C makes sense too. of course Mig-23ML and F-4, they are just a Gen behind but both sides were plenty of them. Probably in mayor number than 4th gen. no news on early F-16 versions or F-18? Both of them were really part of the 80s European scenery?

Yeah, that’s why I told you it’s a MiG-29G with imperial conversion. I just wanted to know the HUD mode. Look like GCI interception mode. Not sure if keep the same Soviet design for that particular mode or was a totally different conversion for western system.

Expectation on Air to Air missiles of the MiG-29A?
pepin1234 replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
That was not the point of my post. Parts including head seekers was made in Ukraine. Mostly for export clients users of R-27. That means information about variants is well known. and the modern new fighter means, R-27 for RuAf have nothing to do with what was made in Ukraine as it was a modular missile. So of course we still get a Soviet MiG-29 version but with the possibility to carry export R-27 family, unfortunately export stopped after 2014. But they were shown for real to the general public for sale to MiG, Su fighter family users R-27P/R/T with the respective extended versions. Not anymore in the web site. We have been discussing about that a lot in this forum in old threads. https://en.topwar.ru/185470-ukraina-zakljuchila-krupnyj-kontrakt-na-postavku-aviacionnyh-raket-r-27-vozduh-vozduh-srednej-dalnosti.html This news, even when is not 100% clear. Give you a picture of the situation for export R-27 after 2014. Mostly because was a Soviet design, still in use by new RuAf modern Fighters, for sure not with export components (Ukrainian made) -

@draconus highlighted for you. Maybe you missed the Ukrainian MiG-29 part and also I added the new fighters because in case you don’t know, Some parts of R-27 was made in Ukraine, but not for service Russian client… still a remarkable detail… -

R-27P on a supposed MiG-29 of Ukraine. The wing logo was censored but still the yellow and blue can be seen. New Russian fighters still using the Soviet design R-27 in late war action. Probably with new sensors made in Russia, after removing the Ukraine made parts. That particular missiles seem to be censored in the HUD. -
Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill

we can turn off the SR radar in your TOR while keeping the TR radar ON and tracking? that is all about my question is. it's not unrealistic at all. I didn't understand what you agree with @Abburo Buk launcher doesn't need a search radar, but instead have a limited SR/TR radar that will track everything go in front of him. Not sure is HAWK TR can operate with TR ones SR radar is destroyed. BUK do it and work perfect for ambushes. Also to set as single units in Frontline its a deadly tactic used in the current war. @Abburo doesn't have a clue what I'm talking about. unfortunately, This forum in plenty of them. -

Let me explain better… it’s not about turn on the SAM at the very last moment to ambush. It’s is turn ON the TRK radar only because if the unit received azimuth from EWR, then there isn’t need to turn SR radar ON but only the TRK to do the lock on and fire. SR radar ON means you have 360 degrees on enemy detection sensors, while TRK radar ON only means about 15-30 degrees of radar beam and so will avoid the easy destruction by ARM missiles from Air enemy units. ED knows very well that and is keeping it unreal for easy SEAD missions. Totally unreal. -

@currenthill we really need increase the simulation for Air defense sistema. Units like TOR, Tunguska, Roland have all radars together in DCS and that is not the way it work in real life. The only tactical system that work TRK and SR units independent is the BUK. Can you please do something to separate the TRK and SR radar and make a key combination for them separately. We already have triggers that turn off and ON radars and that way probably you can figure it out how to do that job. TOR and Pantsir are SR radar ON all the time and that is not the way always goes IRL. -
I would like know more about that in real action war. An inspection after landing is a must. Probably in real emergency situation you can skip that.

I want to know if FF Mig-29 will rearm and refuel with engine on like FF F-16,18,15 do right now in MP? This is a Full Fidelity feature though… as FC3 aircraft’s must engine off before rearm and refuel…
