So what is this Maps traffic optimizations

With the supercarrier close at hand will we finally get back to making the Tarawa a functional ship?

If the supercarrier module works as advertised, it will be quite an achievement.

and that is end of Q1 for 2.5.6?

Don't see any mention about fixing or revamping combined arms issues including ground movement and logic.

Is Vulcan another rewrite of the system? As a novice this sounds like we wont see this until perhaps 2021. Look how long 2.x took to come out. Am I wrong on this? Ah this system can run cross platform ie Linux.

Stew remember the Export.lua for the harrier does not work for the f-18 so you need to use the proper file for the UFC to work.

for anyone interested I was able to get my setup working for two monitors so I can flip between the A-10, F-18, Blackshark, and av-8 cockpits with helios. I use OvGME to organize my instruments files so they recognize the naming convention I use for the outputs. Note the Export script used is not compatible for both the AV8 and F18 so you need to load it using OvGME depending on which jet you want to fly. Is use a 1920x1200 monitor for DCS and a Dell P2418HT as my touch screen.

Glad to see the Bell Textron agreement. If Poly can prove themselves, maybe they will be open to license the Cobra or Venom or Osprey. Marines need CAS and transport. (Especially when they fix the Tarawa :-) )

After watching that clip first thing that came to mind is this module is going to KICK A$% !!! Now Im going to have to find a squadron to join. Hopefully this will live up to the hype in MP.

ill bet those video contrails are a result of launching missiles at 29000 feet.

1C announced they are coming out with a Normandy map for IL-2. Since I believe that Ugra makes maps for both DCS and 1C will be interesting to see how they compare.

TACAN bugged. and I thought it was just me... No wonder I can never find the carrier!!! Never shows up on TACAN.... :(

yes thats good. There have been changes on the Tarawa in the last couple of updates. In particular the points where the AI spawn have changed. For a while a flight of 4 helos would line up on the deck upon spawn. Then they were spread out on the deck. Now the spawn spread out and next to the deck over the water. When the lead fires its engines up it disconnects from the deck and the ship moves out from under it. Also AI Harriers try to fly in and land next to the ship over the water. Needless to say not a happy ending.

All over this one. Need the CH-46 to fit the timeline, Cobra and finally have DCS fix their carrier logic so the Tarawa is actually functional. AI wont land properly or maneuver the deck.

Any more news on Tarawa updates or are we still in a holding pattern for DCS fixes. AI ops is totally disfunctional.

Thanks for the reply Zeen. I found the UFC button. They were right in front of my face. Also thanks for updating the F18 zip so they work with the A-10. Now we need Blufin to fix his Av-8 profile. :-)
