  1. As I've said previously in this thread: I don't think that was ever their intention. It simply seems to be a linguistic error.
  2. Haha. I wonder if non swedes understand the sarcasm here :) I did my military service there some years ago, patrolling that naval base and archipelago. Sometimes I asked myself "will I see a stranded foreign submarine today?". It was a bit surrealistic knowing the history of the place. I'm not sure non swedes understand, but that was sort of like our "cuban missile crisis" during the cold war.
  3. What happens after the weekend? Will they take it away from us again?
  4. I guess it won't happen today since there's only ten minutes left of today. :(
  5. Thx Prowler, that sounds like good news, but I'm going to wait until the discount goes away and then buy immediately afterwards :)
  6. Updated my last post with some more answers.
  7. MiG-29 1: You can get into TWS, right? Just press the same key once more and you will get a mode called TWS2, which can lock multiple targets. 2: I don't think those indicators are working right now, in the current version. I could be wrong though. 3: No :( 4: G is German version. S is modernized and capable of carrying R-77. Su-27 2: You can go ahead and switch to an IR missile without the radar loosing track. It will keep tracking and it will cue the IR seeker of the selected missile onto the target. 3: That's how the real thing works. It's explained in another thread on the forums. I won't go into details here. 4: No, the missile won't track again after loosing the target. Su-33 1: It will not be possible until the Su-33 receives the advanced flight model in a future update. A-10A 1: This aircraft is not SEAD capable. Avoid SAM by staying out of range or using terrain for masking. You can take down some short range systems using AGM-65's. Su-25 1: No, there's quite a big difference between the Su-25 and Su-25T. Way to much to go into here.
  8. A-10A: Not click-able A-10C: Click-able
  9. As a big car enthusiast, with an affection for Saab, I'm starting to find this thread really offensive. I've had my feelings hurt numerous times now.
  10. The module page was always like that. The "mid" part was written by the devs on the forum, and they have repeated it numerous times, even very recently.
  11. That's exactly what was going through my mind, lol :) On topic: Anyone think today is the day? I'm sure going to come here and check at least once per hour.
  12. Haha, I hate moustaches. :) Either one shaves completely, or one wears a full beard. There's no in between.
  13. Mirage 2000 before it got the refuelling pipe in front of the cockpit is just one of the best looking aircraft ever.
  14. You surely mean the A-10A, not the C. Not click-able at all actually. FC3: Simplified systems, no click-able cockpits. DCS: Fully modelled systems, click-able cockpits.
  15. Thanks for clearing that up. First I thought the number was for the Viggen only, which for obvious reasons sounded crazy. If it's the entire SweAF during the 20th century (almost their entire history) then it makes sense.
  16. Actually, swedes use those sometimes in spoken language. We say jaktviggen and attackviggen. It's pretty common actually.
  17. And here I thought the MiG-21 had a bad track record of lethal accidents. If this number "600" is true, then the Viggen is much worse. But then again, how could it be true? There were only 329 Viggens built. Did every airframe kill two pilots during it's service life? I highly doubt that.
  18. So in plain English, it wasn't just a fishing boat, but an undercover SIGINT vessel. It makes sense now.
  19. I don't doubt your story, but I gotta say that is a strangely irrational response by the Swedish air force. The fishing boat would not be committing a crime by drifting into Polish territorial waters while in distress. By international law (UNCLOS), any ships in the vicinity, including Polish navy would have been obliged to assist the fishing vessel. By sending the Viggen's, the Swedish air force risked escalation for no reason.
  20. Most likely I think you uncle encountered unarmed recon and attack Viggen's. Since he served up until early 90's, the JA would have been in service during his time too, but I don't think he would have encountered it very often unless he was approaching Swedish airspace. The JA flew armed and closer to Swedish airspace. They would often be in the air at the same time as the unarmed planes flew further away, but they stayed behind and loitered, acting as a QRF just in case anything were to happen with the unarmed planes pushing further out from their bases.
  21. This is not the Mirage-thread. This is the Viggen-thread :smartass:
  22. About spotting in VR: I think ED should use the new model enlargement setting and give it a dedicated setting for VR, which is only available to VR users to avoid people with monitors using it as a cheat.
  23. You need to do a reality check. Going up against these with the AJS is suicide. Try MiG-21bis, F-5E, F-4 etc... Those are going to be somewhat balanced encounters for the AJS-37.
  24. You mean the new Star Wars movie? Yes, we are there. As for the Mirage, Zeus already told us it's not going to happen today.
  25. Those players aren't the problem. The problems are those few who intentionally teamkill.
