  1. Let me also add that the key mapped to the red backlighting only turns the backlighting on momentarily when used, ala a push to talk switch. The key should toggle the lights on or off when activated. This behavior is in DCS 2.5.
  2. Thanks, I got it working using JSGME. I went back and re-read the readme that was in the archive. Copied the .DDS files as directed and it worked.
  3. Hi Devrim, I have tried your Mod in V2.5 via JSGME and the result is corrupted (pixilated) panel graphics in the cockpit of all SA342 versions. I did not try the extract .BAT as I use JSGEM for all mods. I see that some here have the Mod working in 2.5. Perhaps they can shed some light on how they installed. Thanks
  4. No, No, and No! There is X-Plane, FSX and P3D to name a few that are set up for civilian flight support and include a myriad of aircraft, ATC, flight planning tools, weather simulation (including "real" weather) and numerous vendors that supply products and aircraft. These sims are all "study sims" and are every bit as complex and demanding as anything DCS has to offer the serious flight simmer. If you have a serious itch for a civilian flight sim, I suggest you try one of the sims above and further suggest that you're beating a dead horse here.
  5. Hi, A little help please, where is .lua located and what is the file name? Thanks
  6. Tried that and IT WORKED. Now, I'm the system administrator and was logged in as such. Don't understand why running DCS Beta as an "Administrator" would clear this problem but thanks for your suggestion.
  7. Hi, Updated the Beta copy and installed Harrier via Module Manager. When I attempt to assign Controls Axes and then hit OK, the screen blackens and I have to use the Task Manager to exit DCs. Delete the Saved Games/Config folder and tried again, same result. Anyone help? Thanks
  8. Skimmed the document and it looks very good at this point. One suggestion (plea) though, PLEASE create the document with a dynamic Table of Contents that will link to the actual paragraph within the body of the document. Document of any size are very cumbersome to navigate without such a dynamic (linkage) structure. Thanks and looking forward to the initial release.
  9. Ok, found the manual. Thanks for the response and information.
  10. I have the BETA version of DCS installed and it's within the BETA that the 430 is supported. In the BETA version, the 430 is only available in the MI-8. For some reason, the 430 module was also available in Module Manager for installation in the Stable release of DCS. I installed it there and in the Special options, the MI-8 and L-39 are available for the 430. The release notes for Wednesday's update clearly indicate that the release was for the BETA DCS version. So the question is why the BETA does not include the L-39 430 option or why the Stable release includes the L-39 and the BETA does not?
  11. Well I fumbled around and got to the point where I could power the device on and navigate through the buttons. Questions though: 1. What is the navdata source? That includes waypoints, airport ICAO -, VFR Beacons, etc? 2. Is the MI-8 autopilot linked at all to the GPS for LNAV at least? If so, how is the GPS "source" selected? 3. Will there be some type of tutorial documentation available?
  12. See my post above (#77). You need to replace the two files in Skull's mod with those from the stock 1.5.7 P-51D Cockpit Textures .zip archive. The files are listed in my post.
  13. Skull, The 2 files I moved from the stock 1.5.7 P-51D Cockpit Textures zip archive to replace the same files in your mod are: P51D_cpt_glass_dif.dds P51D_cpt_glass_refl.dds As I mentioned, after replacing these two files in your mod, the mod is good, at least in my installation, in 1.5.7 (Stable and BETA) and 2.1.1 I can't figure ut why you don't have the problem in 1.5.7. The version of the mod I used was right off the User files. Thanks
  14. Skull, That update included new glass DDS files in the P-51D Cockpit textures zip archive. I've got opaque instruments and cockpit glass when I apply your mod in the stable version. Perhaps the problem is created with HDR on and/or textures high. I don't know what settings you're running but there is definitely a problem in the stable version and I suspect the BETA and the NTTR 2 versions as well. EDIT: I replaced the two "glass" DDS files in Skull's original mod with those from the last DCS 1.5 update and the revised mod now works in all three versions of DCS. I tried posting the revision here but I keep getting a security token error trying to attach the .zip file. Maybe it's too big. Skull, the dates on the two files I replaced are both 7-5-17. I'm sure you'll see the files in the latest P-51 cockpit textures zip file.
  15. Interesting. Appears that your neighbors are updating. Nothing yet in the US
  16. Appears that the Euro time zones have the update, North America does not, at least on the east coast of the US.
  17. Anyone have any clue as to what "deferred shading" is or does?
  18. There's a video around these boards where our Gazelle is flown upside down from landing approach to a hover, rolled then to right side up and landed. I can perhaps understand a high speed roll in a light weight helo with the right power but I can't understand sustained inverted flight. Right or nearly correct flight model? I don't think so.

Droppy114,Will you share your settings and/or presets? Thanks
  20. Yeah, I'm not going to pretend to understand how a SF update applied to a BETA module aircraft affects the Stable and 2.0 releases. I don't care what was said or apologies offered, the fact the there were possibly three installations to consider was well known and it was decided to let customer deal with it. So be it. There won't be another Star Force aircraft in my future.
  21. I run three copies of DCS, Stable, OpenBETA and 2.0 Alpha (NTTR). I followed the instructions and deactivated my MIG21 in DCS BETA before applying the update to BETA today. I reactivated the MIG in BETA and all was well. I then tried the MIG in the Stable and Alpha versions and in both received and "Integrity Check" on (apparently) the activation code for the MIG. Two things, apparently the deactivation affected all copies of the MIG on my computer, and I can't fly the MIG now in the stable or the V2-NTTR copies of DCS. I'm not happy.
  22. +1. I see though that ED apparently found the problem and the fix is set for the next NTTR update. (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=184790)
