  1. Yeah, I tend towards the military take off wherein I'm accelerating and climbing right off the mark. I need to work on the hover then forward/climb variety. I'll check out your track. If you are able, try to do a video with voice explaining your "moves". Thanks again.
  2. Thanks. I've read your posts here and I'll look forward to your video. Strange, I don't have the same problem with the UH-1 or the MI-8. I'm not great at either but I can land and walk away. I think the difference is that in those cases the vendor (DCS and Belsimtek) produced excellent "how to" videos and posted those here. They were very helpful and shortened the learning curve.
  3. Hi, After umpteen attempts I just can't get the hang at landing the Gazelle. I get close then I either slip backward and/or to the side and wind up a smoking hole in the ground. Request: Can one of you Gazelle jockeys record a video or track with Controls Indicator ON and verbal instructions (if a video), showing me what you do to land the Gazelle? The videos I've found on You Tube lack either control indication and/or voice instruction and therefore are not that helpful. I'd really appreciate it as would my dog who typically receives my wrath after my hole in the ground landing attempt. Thanks
  4. I have not checked the Fuel Pressure during AUTOSTART but with the edited Macro file mentioned above, my engine will start. Fuel pressure must be OK then. The AUTOSTART routine pumps the Fuel pump prior to engaging the starter.
  5. Confused.. I have not touched the throttle when using Autostart. Are you referring to the Autostart (LWIN + Home) command?
  6. Until ED provides a fix, I edited the "macro.sequences" LUA file and added effectively 3 more seconds of starter (clutch) application and 5 seconds overall to the Autostart macro. Seemed to do the trick. AUTOSTART is now functional for the K4 in the stable and BETA releases. Shame ED changes these files and does not fully test the change. If anyone wants the edited file, post here and I'll post the file for download.
  7. Hi Squirrel, Yes, I believe that is the problem. Also, in the 1.5.5 changelog there is mention of Autostart being modified to allow start regardless of radio communication, whatever that means. I compared the "macro.sequences.lua" files for the 1.5.5 vs. the 2.0.4 K4's and there are differences but I'm not an lua programmer and therefore am not sure what the differences mean. Thanks for the response.
  8. Hi, Tried the Autostart command after the update today (12-28-16) and the engine would not start in the K4. Command runs as evidenced by the commands listed in the chat window, "run starter" command given, prop rotates but engine does not start. Problem is in the Stable and Beta releases. Autostart functions without problem in the NTTR Alpha release. Edit: Looking through the forum, it appears that Update 2 to 1.5.5 (12-2-16) may have adjusted the Autostart LUA file. Also, I saw several posts regarding the K4 being hard to cold start after that update. The Script LUA file in my DCS Stable installation has 12-16-16 as the modified date.
  9. +1. The most important feedback the developer receives is from the customer, not "RL Pilots".
  10. I played with the Magnetic Brake when I flew last and understand now how it works. What is most confusing is the apparent interchangeable use of the terms Trim and Magnetic Brake. I also fly the MI-8, Huey and KA-50, all of which use the term "Trim" for what is in the Gazelle "Magnetic Brake". The Gazelle is the only bird of that has two "Trim" systems. Tends to confuse the novice. Anyhow, appreciate your help.
  11. Thanks but I read that entire thread and I'm confused to say the least. I'm going to search for a video on Magnetic Brake operation with a spring centered joystick. I doubt if I find one but thanks again for your help.
  12. Found the answer: The USE FF option was on in all three of my DCS installs. I know I had it off but I have no idea when it crept back to "on". Anyhow, clear that option and all is well with the Trim. :)
  13. Thanks. Any thoughts on what to do when you change position of the cyclic and want to trim that position? Do you reset trim first before moving to the new trim position?
  14. Hi, Anyone help with the correct procedure to apply the magnetic brake? I've been having problems applying and re-applying the magnetic brake. What is the process to 1) apply the brake initially, and 2) reapply the brake after changing the position of the cyclic? Do you have to hit the reset trimmer button, either initially and/or before adjusting the cyclic and reapplying the brake? Thanks
  15. Hi, This thread (https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=176981) should be moved here. Any news on the tests that were scheduled for last week? Thanks
  16. If you ran the update for DCS 2, you should have a working Gazelle. I've been flying her since the update and other than the trim being borked, the module flies.
  17. The bug was reported to be in DCS 1.5.5. I wanted Poly to understand that the bug was also in DCS 2.0. Also, this bug is serious IMO and in the opinion of others affected. The bug was reported 10 days ago and no word yet other than it's on this weeks test schedule, I assume to verify that the bug is "real". Finally, 10 days is more than a reasonable length of time in terms of waiting to hear from the developer . So, guilty for "spreading it around". ;)
  18. trim problem The Trim problem described here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=177452 is affecting the Gazelle in the DCS 2 -NTTR also. Anyone else having this problem?
  19. Now that the Gazelle has been restored in DCS 2 NTTR, the Trim problem is now affecting DCS 1.5.5 and DCS 2.0.4 - NTTR. Any news from the scheduled test?
  20. Trim Reversed Description: Trim action is reversed, i.e., Trim Nose Up command results in nose down trim, Trim Nose Down command results in nose up trim, Left Wing Down command results in right wing down, etc. Single Player Non Steam To recreate: Start, Fly and apply trim Controllers: HOTAS Warthog using POV Hat on Joystick for trim input. O/S: Windows 10 32GB RAM GTX 1070 4GB No Mods used to recreate Note: Reported in Bugs thread by other players as early as 11/13/16
  21. Same Issue here with Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog and VKB Rudder Pedals, Single Player, DCS 1.5.5 Public release and BETA Release. I7-6700K, 32GB RAM, GTX 1070 4GB. Pitch and Roll trim axes are reversed. I also noticed that after I applied the magnetic brake trim, then released the trim, I could not apply Magnetic Trim again. I don't think that's correct. Magnetic Trim should be enabled and released as many times as desired. I noticed the trim problem was initially reported over 9 days ago and Trouble Tickets were issued. What's the status, Please?
  22. Well I've "stayed tuned" but have seen no update. Can Poly provide a status please?
  23. I have the same problem with the LED based Pro Clip and for that reason I went back to the visor clip. I have no problems using the visor clip. I'm sure that if you use the TIR GUI, you could adjust the range when the LED clip is used. I just never tried it.
  24. What Option are you using for the Terrain shadows? I flew with "Default" and I see large groups of trees in the Free Flight - SU25T mission. Not sure if those are "forests" but it looks like in your screen shots that you have groups of trees and also areas where there should be trees but no trees are there. Hard to tell without side by side screen shots of the same area.
