  1. Thx. good links. Will take some time to read through :-) The Red starter and 'protector' from stainer might be interesting for the front instpan fire-ext switch: States total diameter .9". Sounds a bit large though ?
  2. Hi Dimebug. Looks great. Think you're on it already but just in case. One idea to further lift the apperance of flat empty panels might be to "snatch" the graphics from inside the DCS or likewise instead of pure b/w stencils. Haven't a qlue if it's possible from current version, though Could be extracted from L.O. earlier versions at least. Allmost all panels exept the FM/AM radios are at (or close to) the scale. Cheers Gus -edit. Looking a bit closer know on the 'stencils' I see it's the A version. You probably got the C-ver already otherwise there are a high-res post around here by paulrkiii http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=63481 -edit#2, IML'd my head ;-) and found the link
  3. nag nag nag... LOL. You pretty darn close yourself, hehe. Great progress and admire the quality of your build. Keep it up and don't loose hope during the upcomming workload. There will be even better (building) days to come :) /Gus
  4. Complements on your build. Looks great. Can you control the "dampning" (can't find the correct word here). The softnes of the forward/aft movement ?
  5. Check http://www.mikesflightdeck.com/downloads/order_bsai.pdf http://www.mycockpit.org/forums/ can be another option. Thought he had an account here also but I fail to find it now
  6. Says 13,95 Handling and shipping outside listed countries (US, CA, Mexico). Ping Mike and check for bundling etc. They are worth it chhers /Gus
  7. Now you teasing, LOL . Would have taken me years to come to the same result . Thanks for the update, will save me a lot of time Cheers Gus
  8. Ooouch Red  , that mod looks absolutly great. Both the Otto's in place and also the handle to stick adapter. Can you share some pics and info how you made the handle "adapter" ? Did you swap the Amphenol 20-29 Female in top of the stick or drill through it (or any other magic) ? `Looks like you either made your own 'plug' to the TM handle or modded it ? I got hold of an 20-29 Male with contact and "had" the idea to make an adapter with inner threading to fit the amphenol plug and outer thread to fit the nut on top of the stick, was sure I'd recieve it this weekend but the mech firm failed  , they couldn't find the correct data for either the inner or outer thread they said. Do you know the correct type ? Your version is sure better, the one I got in mind would raise the handle another inch above top of the stick. Keep up the superb work Red and please keep the pics comming :) Cheers Gus
  9. Hehe. My priority would be the Hotas, Snus and then the car :smilewink: in that order (sorry for derailing the thread Axion) Axion. It's probably old news and not related, but just in case... I lost wintel access to my TMs some time ago. They both showed up under "devices" but I couldn't reach or recognise it from the Sim. Calibration tool access (Wintel) to verify was gone also from the right-click menues. USB devices themself was visable under the DeviceManager. Turned out my prob was the connection order of the USB devices (got a bundle of'em), I'd rebuild my rig and plugged it the HOTAS as last in the row. Unplugging all and started with the TM's solved it for me. Cheers Gus
  10. Looks fantastic, CubPilot
  11. Thanks for the update Red. Agree on the 'monster' topic there. Even if they added a nice touch of "kriririrshhh" feeling and sound. I removed and replaced'em with two qual pots and linkage but never got it to work proper and swopped to the TM instead. An option for the future effort :-)
  12. aaah. I'm far from updated :-) I compared the pics you posted to the version I know (attached). I played around with the linkage to a pot to achive something like shown in your pics but never got it working satisfying, so I swapped to the TM version instead. Do you know what year (aprox) was this new version of the Throttle Quad introduced ? Cheers Gus p.s. - PM box cleared -d.s
  13. Complements on the rebuild of the Throttle qaud. Outstanding approach and workmanship
  14. Thanks for sharing Olgered. Great value
  15. Hi Sokol1. Is that your design ? sweet result and congrats. Is the dampners home made or can you share the source ? cheers Gus
  16. Welcome back Trigger. Skiing instructor where ? (any plans for a Ski-Sim-Pit ? :-)
  17. Please count me in for a full kit also if still avialible. PM inbound cheers Gus
  18. You going for stationary Pit or (semi) mobile ? If stationary I'd go for option 2 or why not having a detachable subsection placed under. If 6" in option 1 is "floor" limit above true ground, it willstill cover a lot of cabling, power and elctronics. then it's the mobility part inhouse. Having the pit restrained to the garage or build"site" in the long run might impact on the use of it. Another issue may be how it will be presented or used, (i.e. event etc). From a visitors view. looking into the Pit from slight above can be good instead of 'climbing' up to it to get a peak :-) Less material may also imply a more solid platform (in terms of strength) Projectors or LCDs ? The last will force a bit larger/wide frame in option 2 to mount em on (not sure about the correct english word here but I think you know what I intend)
  19. Hi tbies Have you seen Helio Estrelas A-10 Version ? http://www.viperpits.org/smf/index.php?topic=5468.msg87448#msg87448 Out of my league currently but sure seems awesome :music_whistling:
  20. ooooch, that kinda collection should be forbidden to be shown here ?! (kidding) 2 COMM quads and a TISL on top, not to mention all the others.. congrats. Must have taken a sweet amount hours just to locate these. A bit envy to say the least...hehe. Living on the wrong side of the 'pond' doesn't help either Cheers Gus
  21. I'd say the other way around. Centered stick in correct level with an aprox 13-15 degrees left twist of the handle would get you the most ergonomic config. If you got the possibility, get an extension to the stick keeping the gimbal "floorside" to further lower 'twist' of the wrist (no joke intended :-) when pushing stick forward-aft. Adds a bit of extra control also.
  22. Hi Colin. Check post #146 on Rocketeers build thread also. Same or very like one of'em (top pic) http://forum.lockon.ru/showpost.php?p=842509&postcount=146
  23. Great start Burns
  24. Gadroc. For the descission to make Helois donour-ware is a gesture that truly shows devotion to the pit building community. I understand the gigantic effort spent into both building this great proffesional application and also all the administrative overhead to comes with it. A BIG thanks Cheers Gus
  25. Hey Red. You are same guy that said something a while back about you ok with switches and knobs etc only ? LOL Seems you getting far ahead already... seems that syncros will be the next challange. Very greatfull if you could share the pinouts and values to control the needles and flags. Got an HSI very likle yours but haven't yet gutted it.
