  1. Late in the evening by Moscow time, still keeping my fingers crossed...
  2. Hi. I have taken up a business opportunity, in order to fund buying equipment neccesary to produce this on a more professional level. And to keep the prices down, as I wont have to outsource any work, and everything can be done in-house. I am currently 6 months into this deal, and it might take another 6, but it will be worth it in the end...
  3. I'd also be interested to see a 770 upgrade
  4. 4 days! is it 4 days now??
  5. I didn't mean it as hard/easy, but in terms of quantity. Study simulation is hardcore no matter what the period is. It would be like saying that B-17 and a P-51 would be the same amount of work to simulate. It's not that P-51 would be easier, it's just that B-17 is the same level of work, just a couple of times more of it. So you have the propeller instead of a turbine/jet engine. Jets have hydraulic bends too I guess :) AFM would be AFM. Now what about hydraulic systems, jet has more. Electric systems, jet has more. Weapons systems, jet has more. Defense systems, jet has more. Radar, HUD, backup systems, weapons, missile AFM, etc, etc. Way, way more coding in terms of quantity, not quality. Just saying... but we'll see soon. How long it takes for a jet, and how long for a WWII plane.
  6. You know it's good when you first think those pictures are real.
  7. After thinking about it, I would be surprised if they went with a single module route. A WWII plane is "just" a 3d model and the flight model. Compared to a fighter jet it's probably 10-20% of it's complexity. So my bet would be they go with a pair of aircraft, or a theater for Mustang and Dora, or both. Here's hoping... I'm not an authority on WWII, but the smartest move would be to make a theater where the most aircraft types saw combat time, and then dedicate several years to releasing aircraft that fit into that theater.
  8. We need a countdown! 5! 5 more days...
  9. You guys are right! They did mention it will be on P-51 level. Well, that's not helping at all. @SithSpawn: It's not over till the fat lady sings buddy. I'm still hoping for mine, DCS: 1st September :)
  10. Nooo! I just forgot about it, and there you go... Thanks for the longest week ever! :) About the announcement, I expect an FC3 level WWII sim. I'm afraid DCS level modules would just take too much time.
  11. Heh, thenks for the encouragement :) I'm kind of in the same boat: Quad core Q6700 at 2.66ghz and Nvidia GTX 9800+ 512mb, bought some 5 years ago. Even went with a 27" monitor recently, for work purposes. So the sim is unplayable at the moment. Was thinking of going with a similar setup as you described, nice to know I have a lot to look forward to. Only question is, go triple screen, or wait and see how Oculus rift does.
  12. So... one guy developing a tank sim? You have the will power of a mountain goat. That's this crazy devil down here: Too bad there's not more of you, but judging by the picture, you're almost there. P.S. Sorry for the weird compliment :D

    DCS C-17

Even more! 2.000 FSX Boeing 737 simpits in the world, + a couple new ones every month. You can probably multiply that by a factor of hundred to get the whole player base. Just for that plane only. How many A-10 simpits? Everybody needs this, whether they want to fly it or not. Although an airliner would be pretty much useless in this constricted world, a transport plane, tanker, AWACS or a bomber would be awesome beyond explanation. It would interest civil aviation players, and slowly bring them to the dark side :bomb:
  14. Are you kidding me?!? Now it's getting ridiculous! He had to close it down? I hope devs would stop listening to stuff like this. You guys know your financial state, your team workload and general plans. Don't let the shear stupidity of a few members make your plans for you. This is going to bring in many players to this world. And in the end, that is going to help everyone. When are they going to realize that...
  15. Pics or it didn't happen! :D
  16. In before massive hysteria about Beczl moving to WWII content.
  17. A very interesting read
  18. There will probably be a ton of "adult video content" for the rift so... She could be looking at you and seeing Brad Pitt in the bedroom :) Actually, I would use that as a selling point. Heck, she might even let you get his & hers. She doesn't need to know that it's for flying Co-op huey with a human copilot :D No multiple monitors, no simpit... you're deep undercover. Basicly you're a goddamn flight sim ninja as far as she's concerned!
  19. Someone said free candy?!? There will be many grateful little boys in this candy store. This and the Dora will make waiting for other WWII content much more fun!
  20. Might be easier that way, financially. Have multiple sources of income since this is such a niche market.
  21. http://flightsimcontrols.com/store/joysticks/fat-king-cobra-mkii/
  22. Why? There's probably 10 times more civil aviation simmers then there are military ones. Wouldn't you want ED and partners to make 10 times the money they're making now?? That could be the difference between pushing out a military module every couple of years, and pushing out a couple every year.
  23. Of course it's going to take a lot of time. The earliest we can expect is two weeks, but that doesn't always come true. We are probably in for a very long wait, and things like these are not helping at all :)
  24. You are a liar and your pants are on fire! Take that back, take it back! :D
  25. Better wait for Wags to change his avatar to a B-17, then it's on for sure :)
