Would you want/ allow flyable civilian aircraft in DCS
hegykc replied to Kroll's topic in DCS Wishlist
FSX was released in 2006. And now, after 7 years, weapons and military aircraft are being implemented. DCS was released in 2008. So I reckon by 2015. we'll see some civilian aircraft starting to appear in DCSW... DCS: At peace :) ( in peace? ) -
Error Messages on TM Warthog throttle/joystick
hegykc replied to sobe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Don't you just hate computers sometimes. how in the hell do you corrupt a font? And why would it only cause problems for the hotas... I swear, sometimes it feels like these guys are becoming self aware and just screwing with us :) Maybe it's time you drop yours into some liquid lava :) -
I too remember reading something about it. The .50 cal being ridiculously messed up because Maddox personally believed that it was the worst machine gun of WWII...
-
Noooo, music :) I would too rather listen to the cockpit and the engine...
-
There's a youtube video with interviews and the pilots meeting each other, if I remember correctly...
-
Okay, so it's not Dora the explorer, it's Dora the butcherbird :)
-
Was "butcherbird" a nickname for a specific version, or the whole 190 range? Or was it an allied nickname...
-
Haha, yeah you wish :) 480 eur is the seat
-
Haha, thanks for the updates guys :)

Yep! Or, it is a post apocalyptic world. After a nuclear war, the ground is 'unlivable' and all the battles are fought in the skies... Mad max style. Make some crappy old rusted skins and have at it :D EDIT: oh yes, and the drugs.. drugs everywhere. Deserts.. the deserts are made out of drugs. Why? Because drugs.

Want some turbine with that whine?

Wait, September is the ninth month of the year?? Arghhh, screw your damn Veggies!! :) 44 days, that's a lot more than two weeks!
-
Nobody's buying up anything. RRG will become a 3rd party developer, developing WWII content.
-
I've been thinking the same thing. Definitely saw some world domination desires, and possibly a hint of anti-dentite :) tendencies in Luthier's plan to bring the most realistic WWII sim to us. I mean, september 1st, helloo? :D On a more serious note, when you have a developer who is genuinely in love with aviation, you have the best chances that he will deliver.

Wow! Gotta spend more time in the mods subforum :) Great team and effort! The force is strong with this one. I have gathered reference pictures of the throttle unit for my replica controls project. The B8 grip is also covered. Good luck!

Was that EVE talk? Sometimes I have trouble understanding DCS guys, but this went completely over my head :D
-
Don't forget 49.99 :)
-
I don't think you even wan't to know how much :) Recently there was a thread about replica F-16 rudder pedals. CNC machined, 9.000$. I'm thinking, just the grip, 2-3 grand. Would be nice though...

One big YES. Russian grips&throttles&pedals are a priority. Instruments too. This technology gives me (or anyone else) an opportunity to manufacture products no matter what the demand is. 10 or 1.000 units, it is doable. All one needs is enthusiasm, and I've got plenty of that :D

Thank you everyone, for the kind words and support. I read every single comment even if I don't reply. It is a great motivation, which I certainly need. In the beginning I was trying just to make a grip for myself or a few others. Since then this project has grown into a full scale production plan. I always try to emphasize, I'm not working on producing awesome products, I'm working on producing awesome prices for awesome products. That's why it's taking years instead of months. Manufacturing thousands instead of a couple. But I'm finally at a stage where people/companies are coming to me with proposals, instead of me begging/searching for them. This community is always giving up hard earned information/experience for free, so be sure something great is coming out from this. As I said, in worst case scenario you will have the 3D models for free, and in a year or two these will be under 100$ printed at an online service for sure. Each month DCS is becoming more and more of a legend, and I hope so will these controls. That's the reason I started this, a professional/industrial level simulator at consumer prices, deserves a professional/industrial level controls at consumer prices! And more. I hope to offer this technology to other sim product makers. If no industrial manufacturers can offer this, it is about time we as a community do it ourselves. It will take a team effort, and it is happening now! P.S. I am also sorry that there isn't more visual info, but that will come. I will start a thread where I will post updates for every single grip&throttle&pedals for every single DCS aircraft available or in production. Also, I am making these as a personal challenge, like skiing or football or mounting climbing, so there is no chance for other than success, this way or the other this is happening. Thank you again for all you patience and support.

I don't know, sounds like a perfect game to me. If you like MMOs. I mean, multi thousand dollar ships, spies, intrigues, 100+ player battles... Free to play if you manage to get good, at either economy or war/partnerships... This is spanish saop opera stuff :) I'm blown away by these reports and surprised that I don't actually play the game. or should I say life simulator, in space.

DCS: September 1st it is then :D

I was thinking it would be fair to include aircraft weight and kinetic energy when talking about recoil but yeah, pretty wild story... I'm telling you, it was TPA rounds. That's 'Tank Pushing rounds' for all you noobs.
-
Must have been TPA rounds
-
That is correct. But, the tank is either stationary or moving perpendicular to the aircraft path. And the P-47 has 8 tons which are moving forward and have kinetic energy... Something like that anyway, I'm no physicist, but it's not just aircraft weight vs tank weight. Wether it's true or not however, I wouldn't put my money on it :D
