  1. @NineLine Any progress on this front? Your efforts are appreciated. This is kind of a big deal.
  2. The M1A2 (in real life) has a 'flex gun' mount. It doesn't have gun sights. It is a 50 caliber machine gun with a large depression trigger system. The in-game sights should be the same as a HMMWV.
  3. We don't even need detailed vehicle interiors in CA - they do nothing for us except give us something to look at, which has no bearing on gameplay. I'd rather see precious developer time invested in other MUCH NEEDED areas.
  4. @NineLine Thanks for your support pushing this forward.
  5. This is a myth. A tank will ALWAYS draw heat. There are enough energy sources and metallic objects on a tank to draw and hold heat. Even the smoldering wrecks that we use as target practice on our training ranges provide enough heat to draw a gunners attention in thermals. Leo 2A4 - ironically, now that I noticed...is using American M829A2 APFSDS ammo. Not a big deal but a great example of BROKE versus INCORRECT
  6. Not much of a point to this since we can't load/unload troops without pre-mission scripting and located EXACTLY at the correct waypoint.
  7. This thermal imager is NOT WORKING - It is not displaying the correct thermal depiction of vehicles or objects according to their thermal temperatures or signatures. (I'm aiming directly at an enemy tank!) It would be different if I said that the the in-game leopard is displaying the WRONG COLOR THERMAL (actually green for this model) - that would mean that they are NOT CORRECT. Nobody is asking for a 1:1 simulation of vehicles, but the M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 tanks have the arguably the most sophisticated thermal imaging packages in the entire world for MBTs - They should, at a minimum, be displaying SOMETHING that appears to be the thermal representation of what they're looking at.
  8. These are NOT working thermals. We're talking about MODERN main battle tanks - their cornerstone is fire control systems and thermal imaging systems. Our current 'lead mode' system or whatever is not accurate not realistic. I posted an entire thread on this...You were part of the conversation. Would it be so hard to distinguish mobility and firepower kills? Why is it that HE rounds sometimes kill more effectively than AP? that seems insane to reality. I've made the reports I've made the videos Nobody is asking for a "full fidelity ground vehicle simulation" - we just want something that more closer reflects true vehicle and weapon capabilities. Modern western main battle tanks are built around fire control system and thermal imaging systems. We have neither of those in game - we want what can be expected from reality. Nobody is asking for fully modelled interiors or ultra-technical details of vehicles - we just want the basics to be right. The module has existed for 11 years with very little to show. What's the point of having these vehicles in game if we can't use them for their intended purpose? To serve as Armored PERSONNEL carriers or Infantry Fighting Vehicles - that can actually carry infantry. Currently - the ONLY want to transport infantry is via scripting done in the Mission Editor. The reality should be that you drive up to any group and can 'embark' and then disembark without any previous scripting requirement.
  9. Module has been out for 11 years -still no working thermals -still wonky fire control systems -AI still shooting through trees and bushes -still using hit points as damage models / no real armor modelling. -still broken reloading -still massive issues with waypoints / pathfinding / units not responding -still no way to load infantry without scripting I could go on. Whats the point?
  10. In case you don't see it....I'm aiming DIRECTLY at a tank. A tank with absolutely ZERO thermal signature. Regardless of when it last ran its engine, a vehicle like this would absolutely have a thermal signature. From sitting in the sun, alone, it would gather heat. I really hope we can get proper thermal imagers one day. Thermal imaging and fire control systems are the cornerstone of modern MBTs.
  11. I tried making a tank mission on the Normandy map and it was impossible due to the AI just shooting directly through forests and treelines. This is also another major issue with Combined Arms currently.
  12. One of the biggest issues with Combined Arms is the unrealistic engagement ranges. AI units seem to launch HE rounds at their maximum range in hopes of hitting something. In many cases, I have a hard time believing that the AI can even see what they're aiming at...I sure can't! Units engage at their maximum range with High Explosives. It's very odd that tanks engage each other at maximum range with HE loaded. I wish the AI would be more selective with ammunition employment. AP(FSD) for armor HEAT for light armor HE for no armor/infantry Currently, it seems that the AI just fires with whatever munition has maximum range Is this related to armor values or rather ammunition damage values?
  13. Not a bug, but seems weird given that the T90 is playable. This is the last modern vehicle that remains unplayable.
  14. @NineLine FIXED in the last beta. Thanks!
  15. Honest question (nobody will answer honestly) Do you any of you even know what a 'study sim' tank is? Tanks are designed so that an 18-year old from the streets can easily learn and train and become competent in the systems. I first trained on an M1A1 in 2006 and it was very easy to learn the basics of the crew stations in only a few short sessions. There's just not that much involved, and its actually fairly easy. This isn't an advanced aircraft like the A10IIC or F-18...tanks are easy to use. What we have now is perfectly fine. What I think would be more appropriate are enhancements to already existing features in game or fixes for some features that are missing. This includes better/more realistic thermal imagers on vehicles, realistic zoom for vehicles like the M1A2, and fixes for long-standing bugs like the reload bug. Examples are shown in my video: https://youtu.be/iVHTVJ-zvJM I also hope that the developers don't waste their time with modelling interiors. This is a developer time-suck and pitfall that could be spent in other areas. Most players spend their time looking through a gunsite, scanning outside of their hatch, or with their face in a map. If you're looking at the interior of the vehicle then you're not doing your job (unless you're the loader, in which case, that would be extremely boring in a video game)
  16. @NineLine Any news here? Our Chieftain still has no gunner position. Driver only. Thanks.
  17. What is the result of you hypothesis?
  18. Still cannot gun the Chieftain
  19. @NineLine from the other thread: It has no gunner position in the current beta. Driver only.
  20. When will we see this? Also - what other feedback do you need for other units?
