    M2000 vs Mig-21

I'm looking forward to testing it but my understanding is that the Mirage 2000 should be superiour in basically every respect to the MiG-21Bis. As I say. I'm looking forward to testing it!
  2. Yep, that is absolutely as intended. The 109 was always a beast for long flights. This is one of the reasons I prefer American warbirds.
  3. I think I prefer no wing flex to Belsimtek Sabre style wing flex (flapping about like a chicken on meth at critical mach but rock solid everywhere else) The wing flex on the F-14 is impressive though, I hope to see it well modelled and if anyone can do it it's you chaps.

    Whats Next?

Razbam have an F-105D for FSX I want the F-105D so so badly!
  5. I would really be up for the Panther. It's the closest thing to my beloved Lynx without being a Lynx.
  6. I'm excited about snake eyes!
  7. For me the most important equipment is the stuff that's relevant to the air war like the Chain Home radar system, and Rebecca/ Eureka transponder systems. The British and Ameriancs were operating portable radio transponders equipped at the platoon level for airbourne infantry as well as armoured groups. Spitfires, Typhoons, Tempests and others were able to tune to these frequencies and find the signal sources up to an accuracy of some 50 to 100 yards. Things that make the air war more interesting. And an excuse to actually *use* some of the systems that warbirds had apart from their guns. Not everything was dogfighting as I'm sure we are aware. Also horses are a fantastic suggestion. edit: The AN/UPN-1 radio beacons used by the USAAF in conjunction with the airbourne forces is also a very important piece of equipment in my opinion: If airbourne infantry and the ground support thereof is to be simulated of course.
  8. That's one of the best things about developing for DCS though. Your audience understands and even enjoys the severe limitations and eccentricities of these aircraft!
  9. I surely hope so
  10. It's not that complicated
  11. The downside to having so many modules out is that you have more to maintain and improve as standards rise I suppose.
  12. I can't find a picture of the same prop at fine pitch from an angle that shows its relative "thickness"
  13. For me it's the implementation of the homing adapter that lets the P-51 down. Though the damage model could certainly be better.
  14. My favourite is the P-51D. It feels like an aeroplane first and a fighter second while the German planes feel like flying weapons with a singular purpose. P-51 is also most useful in ground attack if you like that sort of thing (I do) K-4 is probably the best dogfighter though I think.
  15. My money's on the Viggen now
  16. It's annoying because 37T is quite a small part of the land area of the Caucasus. Oh well.
  17. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd forgotten, it was ages ago.
  18. The TF-51 and P-51 have no differences other than weight and a small shift in CG. It wouldn't be noticeable in the real aircraft. Having guns makes a pretty big difference to how much I enjoy the P-51 though.
  19. From F-16.net: "In September 1991, IOC (Initial Operational Capability) was achieved for the AMRAAM on USAF F-15 aircraft. The F-16 followed in January 1992, and the Navy [on F/A-18s] in October 1993. Full-rate production of the missile was approved in April 1992, marking Milestone III." I'd like to know your source for F-14s being equipped with the weapon a full 5 years before they were operational with the USAF and 7 years before they were operational with the US Navy. Perhaps a modified testbed?
  20. That's weird because the first AIM-120A was delivered in 1991
  21. Amazing. Suddenly I want in with the 229th I gave the Huey a rest for ages and came back to it very recently. I suck but I'm relearning it.
  22. Has he learned a lot about aeroplanes in the years since Top Gun? Like which direction the throttles have to be pushed to make it go faster?
  23. I love that the radar display has the bearing tape on the lower edge, that's genius. Get very good situational awareness like that and never mistake what the radar is showing you.
  24. Looking really good Zeus. That artificial runway symbology is crazy, it looks like 1980's science fiction.
