  1. hurrrrr, this is what you get when you're reading late at night and you mix up lbs and kg.... Yeah the chinook has a much greater MTOW. No CVR(T) for Mi-8.
  2. Potentially dubious wiki sources tell me that the Mi-8 max takeoff weight is slightly more than the Chinook's max takeoff weight. And a Chinook will carry a CVR(T) vehicle. I'm not sure we have those in DCS.
  3. It should work with both if it was in the game if I'm not mistaken
  4. The links on the first page appear to be dead :{
  5. ARC and RSBN are two really nice navigation methods, you can do some proper radial cross conflagulating from VORs and airfields to put you in very precise places. Also if your mission is anti-air you should always have a nice bloke on the phone to tell you where your quarry is. The latter should be better in DCS but it's ok as it is as long as you keep spamming bogey dope requests.
  6. Fly ultra high and run him out of fuel?
  7. All I need is paratroopers out of a DC3 or Dakota. I don't particularly mind if one of you guys wants to fly it for me.
  8. I hope it involves the radio homing equipment.
  9. Does the PA85G work like the not-quite-autopilot in the Mi-8 whereby it holds attitude/ altitude for you?
  10. B A A or B, whichever is more realistic. A
  11. That would be cool, I'm not sure, legally speaking, if you were to record a version of the Top Gun theme it would be alright to use in a commercial product. If it was then that would be great. If not then you could do it anyway and people can use the file if they want. This sort of thing is part of what makes DCS truly great.
  12. That's a rather obliging MiG-15 pilot
  13. I'm glad to hear your dad's better Zeus!
  14. Less complicated for you. Awesome spitfire for me. I think we can make this work!
  15. I've certainly got the wrong end of the stick
  16. Yeah if you've got the Warthog, the A-10C is the one you want. Otherwise I would recommend the MiG-21 (I still recommend it anyway if you have the need for speed)
  17. A bit exciting isn't it? I like the A-7 a lot. Looking good for a French airforce now as well.
  18. Yeah we find ourselves in another of these situations where the limitations of DCS will limit gameplay somewhat. It was the same with GCI for the MiG-21. Technically you can do it but it's pretty bad. I think ED want to do something about it as part of an ATC update, I hope we get that at some point, it would add so much.
  19. That's some pretty serious attention to detail there guys, well done!
  20. Some say that it's exceptionally agile, most comparable to the F-16A in its flight envelope. Hard to find any real data on it though to compare.
  21. Bought the Hawk and Kurfurst. Definitely enjoying the Kurfurst, more than I thought I would and the Hawk will be great with the AFM. I need that Jug though guys.
  22. Make sure you don't overwork yourself Chris. And yes I *AM* your grandma.
  23. I've tried this before, I don't think you can talk to ships, not even carriers. Maybe you can with an Su-33 and Kuznetsov, never tried it.
  24. Yes and crucially for me it misses out Devon and Cornwall, both my home and a source of excellent flying terrain. But really for a DCS map I expect that it's far too big even though I think we really do need a theatre level map like this. Good find regarding the F-14s involvement in this theatre, frankly I find that fleet defence is a very important role for any aircraft based on land or sea in the GIUK Gap. Of course it would provide an excellent habitat for VEAO's Sea Harrier and Lynx modules as well.
