  1. Good Stuff Bunyap, you've convinced me about this machine. I think I'll get it when the CC version comes out. I can see that the Spanish aircraft designers share my love of seven-segment-displays, red LEDs and push buttons. I wonder if the Matador variant of the Harrier II had any cockpit design input? I can't find any images of the Matador cockpit.
  2. Doesn't the Tomcat only have three wing positions anyway? (not counting oversweep which has to be done on the ground manually) The control for setting the wing sweep is a slidey lever thing on the left side above the throttle and I think I remember it has 20 degree, 40 something degree and 68 degree increments. It's been a while but I think I remember the NATOPS manual mentions that there is a manual override but the wings still drift to the incremental stops eventually, they're like slots inside the wing glove that the wings drop into and lock... I think. The manual also mentions the effects that asymmetrical wing sweep can have, ie it's possible for the left wing to be swept all the way back while the right wing is in the 20 degree position owing to a failure. I have the manual knocking around somewhere, I'm happy to be corrected and informed on technical details.
  3. I think angels 3 is too low really, I've never got good results from that altitude.
  4. F-104S yes definitely F-104G most likely yes. Not really sure about the older ones.
  5. I do not understand the purpose of that. Really why?
  6. A reality of this is that DCS is niche enough that nobody cares to pirate it, especially given the structure of DCS:World with module plugins that makes it harder. At the very least there just isn't a need for limited activations. What, really is the point of having limited activations such as we have?
  7. Does it really have that muhc of a place in DCS world do you think? I tend to believe that the map is just a little bit small for the theatre level engagements that the MiG-25 is designed for. That tactical bomber version might be cool though.
  8. Probably there would be a place for the Tunnan I'd think. It turned very well I'm told.
  9. We know from that interview that a MiG-23 of some variety is coming, but it won't be the next one released. We expect from the very subtle hinting that an F-14 of some variety is coming but... I don't know if I believe that. The third we have no idea, I suppose it's possible to be a WWII propfighter but we have no idea.
  10. As an aeroplane to fly I really like the P-51, it has all the trimming options, a nice, powerful engine, good visibility, it lets me diddle with levers and switches almost to my heart's content. But as a fighter against ze tchermanz I don't think it stacks up very well, I don't own the 109K4 but to me it looks like the superiour fighter at least for the most part. But I'll carry on flying the Mustang because I like to.
  11. OK! I would like to register. Pilot Name: Paradox Mustang Livery: Miss Stephanie (By Tom Weiss) http://www.****************/topic/39860-dcs-p-51d-miss-stephanie/ (sorry for the broken link, replace asterisks with "lockonfiles" Pretty sure there's only the one version though so it shouldn't break anything.) Country: UK
  12. Dragged kicking and screaming back into the metal tin filled with 5000 other men!
  13. I wonder what version that is. MLD?
  14. Oh I would love to be in on this!
  15. Noice! A happy christmas and non-denominational winter festival to everyone.
  16. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the T.16000 yet. You can swap the grip to the other side and use it in your left hand with no problem at all. It's not even a terrible stick.
  17. Quite well written. Turn and burn cavalier is more my style so I'm relegated to high altitude now in the Mustang. It's no bad thing because I like being up there, I've got the option of diving on someone if I so wish although I'm a terrible shot so it doesn't always work out well for me. I wonder what your opinion of the spitfire models is regarding turning and burning versus the 109 models.
  18. I see no reason why it wouldn't work like that, surely pressing the weapon release button would just open the claws that hold the weapon once all the other switches were set in the right positions, arming the pylon and weapon?
  19. I want a Hawk
  20. We only care about dogfighting doras then do we? fair enough
  21. There's going to be something to learn in here about losing graciously at some stage. Fishbed pilots are always going to rely on ambushes, there's no point in chastising them for not fighting fairly, why would they?
  22. In my opinion an omission in the DCS P-51 is the lack of a fully functional AN/ARA-8 Homing Adapter. Some time ago it was mentioned by Yo-Yo that the reason for this is that the current beacons in the Georgia map aren't set up for the right kind of transmission (AN/ARA-8 accepts both continuous wave and modulated continuous wave between 120 and 140 MHz. I am wondering if the modifications to the ADF navigations systems we've seen in DCS World recently are sufficient to start modelling the AN/ARA-8 Homing Adapter. Sithspawn, any comment regarding the possibility of an official feature request would be appreciated but it's probably jumping the gun a bit.
  23. Any variant yes. I doubt it would get much use from me after the F-18C comes out though.
