  1. OR: But a bit to the east so you get Murmansk, And probably not as big. but the GIUK gap is a very important strategic area where Russia is concerned.
  2. I hope for GIUK gap.
  3. But we aren't asking for that, we're asking why it wouldn't work on an unmodified aircraft.
  4. Those RCAF skins are amazing. I could build a whole campaign about that if I had the right map.
  5. The thing I like about the nuclear weapon implementation in DCS is that it doesn't quite work properly and clips with the terrain so you get a real "holy crap that place is borked now" feeling when one lands even if it's unrealistic.
  6. This whole thing is incredible. I wish you so much luck Hegykc and I'm so up for an F-18 grip when there's one available.
  7. Could navigation waypoints be introduced to a flight plan inflight?
  8. I really must agree, the MiG-21 is of unsurpassed (so far!) quality I would say.
  9. ooh Why is that then?
  10. Thinking about it perhaps it's a case of the bomb on the rack completing an electrical circuit that's required to make the pylon do its thing. Blind guesses as you say. I'd love to get an official answer I love to think about mechanical detail like this.
  11. Yes but why? Tuning a vespa is a matter of changing cam profiles, exhausts, crankshaft bearings, valve lift and so on. Making a MiG-21 drop a bomb loaded on pylon 4 is a matter of what? I don't know. Why is it different to dropping a pair of bombs loaded on pylon 1 and 4? I don't know that either. If Cobra is sure that this isn't a capability possessed by the MiG-21 simulated then I presume that either he or Novak knows the answer to that question.
  12. It's Syrian airforce so I suppose it's quite likely that someone has changed something in there. Although I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to drop bombs singly in this configuration. The clamps that hold the bombs on the pylon receive the command to release when the pilot presses the release trigger, surely they would open regardless of whether it had a bomb on it or not? Explanation would be appreciated.
  13. I don't know what controls would activate such a system But if you want to get rid of all your fuel the MiG-21Bis won't stand in your way...
  14. We will have both versions. If you want compressor stalls then you can fly the A, if you don't then you can fly the B.
  15. Would they cool faster at high altitude?
  16. If it can be detected and tracked by radar then yeah it can. A missile that shape and size ought to have a sufficient RCS to be detected by AWACS. I couldn't speculate as to what range it could be detected at.
  17. In such a circumstances you would land as soon as possible and let the ground crew do their jobs. If that isn't possible because of a busy airfield or if you're under desperate orders to intercept something nasty immediately then you might be on the losing end of a fight.
  18. The NATOPS F-14D manual makes specific mention of attempting a carrier landing with an asymmetrical wing sweep condition. It says don't do it.
  19. I'm not seeing a traditional HUD collimator, is it that camera thing that produces the projection? How does it all work? what alien technology is contained in this bizarre machine?
  20. How many military pilots are lefties do you think? I never thought about it before.
  21. Good. I can't understand these people baying to be ripped off.
  22. Yes I would like to see the roll rate corrected if it should be lower than what it is. Thanks for sharing your knowledge TK
  23. Yeah I like metal but I've already got a metal grip, let's have a resin one if it helps you.
