  1. Well, that could include anywhere on the planet then. I do believe Cobra said something about a Proper Tomcat home. To me that says Miramar, Fallon, or Oceana. We'll have to wait, and be happily surprised. The good thing is, we WILL have Straights of Hormuz, and Libya (VEAO) to operate the Tomcat in as well. So there will be Combat Theaters. I am also willing to bet a good recreation of "The Final Countdown" Combat scenes aren't too far away either. -Woog
  2. We already have a proper theater, the existing Black Sea Map. Do a Little research. the Russians fought the Germans here. -Woog
  3. The new DCS 2.0 Engine does support a global map. The problem is no developer has yet stepped up to put in the time and effort to build it. I am in complete agreement, though. Give us basic land masses. Let me fly from England to Nevada for a red Flag meet. I mean a Photo real map with 30,000 foot resolution can't take take up that much hard drive space, can it? -Woog
  4. Please Starway, Join a Studio (Leatherneck sims) and get your stuff published for real. You are very talented, I would pay good money for legitimate versions of your mods. These absolutely need to be in the sim, and backed as proper modules. The future looks bright for DCS. I hate mods, but yours are very enticing! Keep up the great work. -Woog
  5. Hey guys my auto-updater stopped working. How do I repair, or update from 1.2.15 to 1.2.16?
  6. All I am saying is, add the existing assets of the Crimea back into the Greater "Black Sea" map. No upgrade is needed to either the Crimea, or Georgia areas. Just a simple plug in of of buildings, forests and Aerodromes that are not being utilized.
  7. As DCS 2.0 will not have these supposed "Object Limits," I surely hope that the Crimea can be brought back into existence. I'd be happy to have it back even if nothing else was upgraded. Just the old existing objects. A complete update of course would be welcome too.
  8. PhotoGraphic Airfields You know, as I sit here and think about the Lack of auxiliary airfields in the NTTR map, I wonder: How hard would it be to include all these others as a Flat featureless, High Res Photo? You could include every one of the Airbases, AND civilian airfields without having to model them. Just a photo base placed exactly where it should be. This would leave room for further expansion at a later date, and also give modders a canvas for object placement. I hope this is not an original thought. I am excited to see what E.D. brings us. But more importantly, What Leatherneck is able to accomplish in the Map department. -Woog
  9. I will tell you this, Catia is one CAD program we use for the real Life Jets at Boeing. -Woog
  10. The Area where Edwards is located is on the map. However, the base will not be modeled. A pity, since it is one of the most important, Historically significant airbases of all time! But back to my Theory NAS Fallon. Here is a great set of action shots taken at Fallon, with a heavy dose of Tomcat Glory! http://tvrphoto.photoshelter.com/search?I_DSC=Fallon%20Naval%20Air%20Station%20NAS&_ACT=search&I_DSC_AND=t
  11. Why would you wait behind an Il-78, when you can get gas from a U.S. Navy S-3 viking?
  12. Hey Cobra, Can you combine all the Weapons thread's into one? Also in the Process, can you just say a little something like "Yes you will be able to drop bombs?" I have no doubt in my mind. However, there seems to be a lot of thick skulled people out there that, can't see a painfully obvious clue to save their life. Thanks, -Woog
  13. What a dumb Poll. Of course they will be Air to ground capable. Do you not see the Bomb racks on the Pylons? Not to mention they all were upgraded by the time they were retired. F-14A's were also "BombCat's."
  14. Yes there is. This is an image posted by Wags. I took the liberty to transpose the borders onto Google Earth, and Highlighted the airbases that Should be included, but aren't. As you can see, there are countless civilian airports inside of these borders, but I believe only McCarran International will be modeled. In the ED image Red dots are Military, Blue dot are the Civi airports. None of these "Dots" are slated to be modeled. -Woog
  15. One day I will be proficient enough to join a virtual squadron. For those that wonder what the NTTR map really offers in usefulness, I say this: Virtual Squadron meeting ground. Tournament style Squadron Vs. Squadron Vs. Squadron. I can't wait! -Woog
  16. The F-14 has been known to Best the F-15 on multiple occasions. The F-14 can pull very high Alpha, to the point that it can perform the "Cobra" maneuver. The Phoenix missile is a joke, and NOT TO BE USED AGAINST FIGHTER AIRCRAFT. The Phoenix was designed to be used against non-maneuvering, high altitude bombers that are trying to penetrate, and destroy the Aircraft Carrier. An old slower video, but a great bit of insight into the F-14's maneuvering capability.
  17. I'm guessing Fallon NAS. Here is why: It is part of the NTTR map already. Albeit the very far NW corner. I mean Barely on that map. But a single airbase would constitute a small scenery right? Fallon is the current home of the Naval Fighter Weapons School (NFWS). What used to be called Topgun, has been integrated together with NSAWC (Naval Strike And Warfare Center) to give deploying Carrier Air Wings a place to "Work Up," and get up to speed for the kind of combined operations they will be facing in theatre. Fallon has it's own Bombing, EW, and Tactical Air Combat Ranges. For further reference, most of the "Top Gun" scenes from the movie were filmed on the Fallon ranges in the Nevada desert. Just my Guess though. -Woog
  18. I am going to start creating logos, and squadron paint in Adobe Illustrator now. This way I can mass produce paints as soon as he's available! Yeah Baby! -Woog
  19. Why Wouldn't you read into them? It is far more unlikely of LNS to put images on their website of aircraft they are not working on, then the way you explain it. Judging by the Detail of the Mesh they show, the F6F will not be Ai. Think about it logically. If you ran a similar company, would it make any sense to essentially advertise a product that you had no intention of selling? Edit: On what page have you seen an image of a Corsair? I would really like one as well, but have scanned all that can be scanned. I did not see a single image of the F4U. They made a great choice by doing the F6f IMHO.
  20. You must not have seen the picture of the F6F on the Home Page? The guessing was over a long time ago.
  21. Not to mention this photo was from 30 years ago. A-7's were some of the first to convert to TPS Paint. Most were done by 1985. Also, A-7 do Not take off straight up. Ever.
  22. 1 Picture. A single picture is worth a thousand words. Judging from prior interviews, The cockpit is where this Extraordinary team likes to start. I just want one picture of the the Tomcat Pit. It will answer so many questions! After that I don't need anything until it is complete. Honestly, I don't want any more to be said by LNS, it only brings out the crazy fanatics. We all know that LNS doesn't do mediocre. I can rest easy at night knowing OUR favorite Air Frame is in good hands. Thank you Leatherneck for your Hard work and dedication. It will be worth the wait. -Woog :)
  23. Vampyre Knows his stuff. I can't help but think that Fallon would be a great airbase addon for Leatherneck to bring to the NTTR map. I've mentioned this elswhere, but it would complement both the F-14, and the F/A-18C when released. Also would make a good test bed for Leatherneck's scenery development team. Vampyre, Reno Stead is a great idea! Mustang's, Spitfires, Bearcat's and dare I say an LNS Hellcat? -Woog
  24. FALLON NAS is the new (since 1996, when the Marine Corps took over Miramar) home of TopGun Sith. By my calculations it should lie inside the NTTR Map...... just barely. (Far NW corner) I highly doubt it is modeled, otherwise Wags would have previewed it by now.
