ARH missiles shot at BVR range are just too easy to dodge if they are not supported by the launcher. You just turn, then the missile will not even see you once. It's a way way harder against a skilled pilot who knows his TWS and use his ARH as SARH (keeping the lock as far as possible so the missile get updates before going active)

Warning tho : using this online will get you banned asap. :music_whistling:

Nooo that is perfect : You just have to fly to any ennemi AO to find a great population of airborne target without defense :D

Spintires is on sales on steam - still 7 hours to go. I bought a couple of copy yesterday for me and my wingman.... Hell.... I can not recall how many years it has been since the last time I laughed so hard at a game. It is a really great game, I warmly recommend it. Cooperative mode is awesome and well done, you can tow your friend out of the mud, recon roads for the truckers, repairs people and refuel them... The whole thing of the game is to carry wood from A to B, with small carriage or "russian" style carriage. Oh yeah, unlike Truck Simulator- forgot about that nice Highway. No such shit in there. Just mud, mud, mud, and eventually some ditches. Graphically, it is just about the best thing I ever saw. Well... didn't played latest casual game either but the mud is moving dynamically, as the water is. Trees and bushes bend and fold realistically. They is still some stuff to polish like commands and camera view.

Hi there, I'm helping an Indian player to get setup with Digital Combat Simulator. Does anyone know shop in India that could sell decent joystick and trackIR ? I'm from Belgium and it's not like I know a lot of shops in India. Thanks !

TrackIR Randomly fail. You start a game you don't have trackIR anymore. Need to restart the whole game. No issue whatsoever in others simulators. I wouldn't complain if this wasn't part of a long series of bugs.

Oh.... Wait.... the date... what a shame :P

I-don't-recall-who found a trick. Replay the file. It'll save properly in tacview .

Just override the mechanic ASC (can't recall the name) and you'll have a quite nice plane.

It would be nice to be able to launch the user/password entry when you are in the MP menu. When your password fail because the damn password save is bugged, you need to quit the game and relaunch it to try again. . . :music_whistling:

So is they a reason it is out of most server ? I'm loosing my head trying to follow what's broken, what's fixed, what's broken again :P

So far - Open beta patches are released to commercial version within a few day, a week at worst. And in most of the case, they is just no difference, despite all the bugs complain - then we see a hotfix coming afterward, following the same pattern. That is a personnal analysis and I may be wrong, but i think Open Beta is more a kind of "safety catch". If they is a major showstopper, like BOSD or CTDs, then they will hold up before releasing it to the standard version and just tell the OB users "sorry it's a beta, hold on for the fix", and rework it. If nothing MAJOR arises, then they release the patch a few days after, wether it's bugged or not. Note I have nothing wrong with this. :P I would also be interrested to know the customer ratio between OB and standard. It seems to me all the DCS drugged guyz are using openbeta, since all servers are still full after going to openbeta.

For the lock, that's simple - The attacker emit a beam of radar wave in the direction of the target. However, that beam isn't like a millimeter wide, so aircraft flying in close formation will also "receive" this beam, hence think they are locked too. When locked, separate from your wingman to understand who is under attack. I prefer the Russian RWR since it display emitter power, which can help you determine the range.

Bis is latin. very rarely used in France.

So who likes the new F-86 canopy and increased gun smoke?
Darkwolf replied to Winston60's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Is that weed on the texture ? ? ? I think that's not the barrels that smoke too much :D -
can we get screenshot of the user manual ? :P

IFF don't run well in scan mode. I have a friendly fire due to this. I also nearly shot a friendly today but I lost the target. hopefully I found out he was friendly:smartass: For now, I shoot first, ask question later. SA is very important. Don't hesitate to text while engaging jammed targets.

They do when you turn. :P

since you can adjust your viewpoint....

you don't defeat R27. They are just designed to miss you :P Just Kidding, great screen. That's a Tail Radar. Useful tho. I thing It has a RWR but not implemented. Ok Hitting RWR P51 in google just get me in my own yesterday's message. --->[]

Business. Eagle Dynamics is a company. They need to pay their employee and make benefits in order to run. So, to keep it simple, like any other each plane / map / new feature is like a new product. Those products have cost (devellopment) and revenue (sales). They will consider viable project and devellop them. Beside this, as a company, they have to consider all the legal liability (copyright) and things that are impossible to devellop. For example, F/A-18, which is a very well know plane, is an heavy investment with a heavy potential. BF-109 is a lesser costly project but with faster income. DCS-2 is a project that won't bring any money straight away, but keeping the customer base by providing superior simulator environment, hence supporting the sales of other products. Or I may be completely wrong and they just choose random planes after a few bottle of vodka but I doubt about it :P That would be nice from Wags to jump in here.

Actually, I setup my pylons at first. AA mode, SAR and my R3R pylons. So when engaging, I don't have to mind too much for that. regarding RWR, I use it to home on target. ID is really tricky but here is some tips : Put your target on 90°, bank 45°. If it's still on, you have an aircraft contact. I go left and right to pin point the source correctly. If it lock, just run back your base. Of course, that gives you a very rough guess, but hell - instead of thinking "I wish I could have a F15 RWR", I just keep positive and think "Hey, that's better than the P51 RWR that doesn't exist :P". I played a lot of submarine games to guess a target location only on tiny indication :P That help now. On a general basis, studying the mission helps finding targets - most of the crowd just go from Allied airport to Ennemi airport, without even thinking of anything else.
