Best thread ever. :P However I agree with some people here. Weird looking Aircraft aren't neccessarily ugly. Most of them i find quite nice, except the IL102 and the Thunderceptor.

The community isn't ED forum alone. A lot of players enjoy FC style of plane and doesn't want to go further. Forums are only representative of the *thin* upper side of a Customer base, where all the "way-too-addicted" are gathering. They is definitively room for more FC style plane.

Someone here apparently doesn't fly the same version of the BST modules than I do :D Anyway, you are right : Too much BST trashing : All unnofficial modules are failing to deliver at the moment. :P

As a sukkhoi driver, I fear more the P-51 than the Eagle. Just run and re-engage mid-range with 120. That's where the Su-27 is at disavantage.

WinX is just really messy for now. IE is worse than ever, start menu doesn't launch win32 apps, and one of the sub exe of the start menu has a memory leak that sink a gig of ram per minute. If you are curious, you can definitively try it. If you want Something stable, definitively stay on 7 or 8.1. DCS works for me, but i had to create a batch file to taskkill the memory leak every minute to keep the ram clear.

It seems pretty messy. Devs stays now in Russian part of ED forum. They failed to finish the few pictures to sort on the current Mi-8 Manual, you won't likely get anything for the sabre. You can still fly the thing with the real manual. They is also Milviz F86's Manual, but I don't recommend it : the real one is better. The main issue is to figure out what is working and what is not. You don't want to rely on emergency systems for now. I hope this will be done soon.

Tanks won't go far is the whole support line is burning. I don't see the A10C capable of doing BAI. --> They are updating B-52 to PGM capability. --> Helos are more than capable of taking CAS missions --> A10 is unable to do anything else than CAS. You don't need to look at individual stats, making hazardous comparison between the gun caliber of a plane. You need to take the whole picture. The A10 is just overkill for COIN mission (for one A10 you field a squadron of Tucanos) - it's definitively hazardous to deploy on force on force mission. Remember that Desert Storm was about shooting sitting ducks in the Desert. Not going close and dirty in woodland area. I love the A10 and I would prefer it to stay on the air. In the meantime, I don't see where it's still any use.

Hi There (if anyone actually read this). I had a few issue with the F86 that i'm trying to fly. 1/ Landing door very powerful : Nose gear missing, plane on the ground with the two main gear and on the nose. If you press G, the nose gear door will actually open and LIFT the plane. 2/ Emergency landing gear handle (below the weapon panel, just by the ground, in red) is not working 3/ Sometimes the comms menu don't work. You can use either joystick or keyboard, menu won't show up. Game has to completely be restarted for this to work again. Only noticed in F86 so far. 4/ The Extend main landing light switch don't work properly. If i set the button on extend position, It extend, however the light will only get ON if I cycle the button to retract, then extend again. Unsure this is normal behavior since ..well... no manual. 5/ Please, get us a manual. 6/ Seriously. Do need that manual. Best Regards, Pierre.

As a '21 driver i'm sad but i fully agree with the decision :) I missed the '80s weekend due to computer issue, hope this will happen again :)

Salut Deadzone, j'ai eu le même souci. Télécharge un module via le site internet (l'open beta ayant la meme version que la normale en ce moment, c'est bon). Une fois installé et activé, le module manager remarchera corrrectement.

Same is happening to me, no module in game manager. Can't download modules since OPEN BETA. :music_whistling: I opened a ticket, i'll let you know if i find a fix or if ED get back to me :thumbup: - Edit This afternoon, installing modules with downloads seems ok even tho Module manager is still not ok.

If he is close behind you, best bet would be a ctrl-E three time. If you are within IR range, you are pretty ****ed up. Best thing is to separate. I managed to escape a few bad situation. They isn't really a rule book and it is not working 100% . It assume you can pull ground cover. Even small hills are ok. -Activate second level of afterburner. -If target is close range, pull the worst turn you can, while braking as much as you can. Once the other dude overshoot you, just turn the opposite to the nearest hills/mountain area and fly as low and as imprevisible. If your target don't have trackIR and you can go behind the nearest mountain, decent hill, you are safe. Don't fly into a fixed direction - If the guy see you escaping in one direction, he will likely follow the general direction. If you put 10km (out of IR range), you are pretty much safe. Same goes with medium range. Escape, low and fast. plane RCS + ground clutter + Hill masking will just forbid any shoot, even from people flying a way way above you. I escaped all the close fight with this technic, except a few times in the northern area, which is absolutely flat. There, you are pretty much ****ed up. If engaged there : here is the second trick. Land. Most of the time, target will just loose you :thumbup: If ever you are crazy enough to pick the fight, drag the guy to the deck and set the aileron sensitivity setting to manual, full sensitivity (sorry can't recall the name). That'll allow some ****ing tight turns, but that'll be really risky. It's likely you die anyway. But the sensation flying the mig in that manual plane just worth it :D

Flightpanels will prove best useful in combat games. The combo feature is priceless :D

Do not use radar for search, unless you are in an old fashion scenario where your mig21 is the best plane. Consider AI to have better SA than god. If you are flying in MP environment with F15/MIG/Sukkhois, the only mean of detection you have are : RWR (don't neglect it, well used it can be great tool). Mark.1 Eyeball Remember four thing and you'll be successful in MP : Unless vectored by GCI/AWACS, against identified bombers, the radar shall be considered as a part of the firing system, not detection tool. Sapphire sucks more than you can even think. Mig-21 is a f**** stealth fighter. If you know how radars works, you'll know how to avoid it. I often flew to the ennemi base on populated servers - having shitty eyes I did not found anyone, but no F15 found me either.
