  1. Yes, trim is still functional when you flip ATT and ALT hold switches (default S and A keys). You gotta trim it straight and level to engage autopilot and but you can still use trims with ATT and ALT toggled. Dunno how it functions IRL but I guess this is a mistake by devs.
  2. Dunno, but I really find it weird, at higher units of AoA clean F-15C seems to aerobrake way too siginificant, almost like a delta winged aircraft. That requires dropping nose below horizon, relaxing to 1G or even going for 0G to gain back some smash. The funny thing in DCS is that different players get different performance outta same module and it's based on your specific X & Y curve setting. If used with zero or negative curve F-15 becomes way too responsive, slight pull on the X stick would generate 4G and cause performance loss, if you numb it out with a higher curvature the fight model seems to sluggish so there should be some recommended curve setting for each module and aircraft for us to compare data.
  3. Yeah, I just used that altitude and speed to simulate long range high flying airliner. There is a Civilian Aircraft mod, however I don't think that featured airliners performance is accurate so I used KC-135 instead. But You're right there, C feels like an E, draggy and fat, puffing and sweating up above 30.000ft. I tell you every >1G maneuver bleeds off too much. You simply can't maintain energy even in level turns without kicking burners to regain it. It does accelerate fast, but speed as featured in DCSW means nothing if you lose it just like that. I watched the F-15C unrestricted takeoff HUD tape, taking of from Nellis AB. I don't believe that jparticular jet was clean with pylons removed but pilot performed lift off maintaining 3°-4° pitch and reached 450kts at opposite threshold pulling 6G to 80°pitch and rolled wings level at 15.000ft at 250kts. Tried doing the same in DCSW with clean loadout and 100% of fuel and I reached 420kts at the opposite end, zoomed to 13.000ft (230kts) and nearly stalled berfore rolling inverted into a level flight at 15.000ft. I had to pitch down back to 13.000ft to regain smash for a <20°AoA level flight.
  4. Yeah, I tell you man it's difficult keeping up with airliners (AWACS and Tankers) in DCSW, straight and level flight @ 38000ft. Requiring occasional AB usage which is hard to believe. If you remove pylons from DCS F-15C would it improve it's performance in the game? Did anyone try that?
  5. Did everything as described in 0.22 setup walkthru and this is what I'm havin, I'm currently using NTTR with DCS:
  6. How do you export radar display? Can You screenshot your .LUA with required settings? And do you need any particular app to have it on a secondary monitor (or tablet) or what? Thank You!
  7. I agree. F-15C has a BARO knob pictured in altimeter but no inHg tape displayed in altimeter gauge. If not already made clickable at least it could display InHg value as set in Mission Editor and correct altimeter needle and tape accordingly. The other thing is CAS panel issue. Yaw, Roll and Pitch switch states are reciprocal. Switches indicate OFF state when active. Regards,
  8. Hello everybody, during my long experience with LOMAC, FC and DCS I've noticed that I usually fly with FullMil throttle RPM. If there was an app that records average throttle setting throughout the flight I'd be lik 95% of the time in Full Mil. The only time I use AB stages in some let's say cruising flights is during climbout (if heavy and tanked). And I reduce to lesser RPM during dives and approaches. I know this is also jet dependant (different jets require different RPM envelopes) but no matter of fast jets I use in DCS (F/A-18C, F-16C, F-15C, MiGs and Sukhois) I usually spend most of the time in Ful Mil. Seems that IFR formation flying also requires Ful Mil to catch up and sligtly less of a throttle to slack so my IFR throttle range is also in Ful Mil or just a bit lower. So I wonder how accurate is this compared to real jets throttle usage, do they also cruise with Full Mil. Best regards all.
  9. Any chance on having Hornet MFDs exported beside UFC and AMPCD like case with Viper where we have UFC and both MFDs option?
  10. OK screw DCSW2.7, I have many DCSW builds(both stable and OB) where I can compare patches and benchmark various differences. I suggest folks to do the same on their SDDs. In case of uMFCD crashing DCS perhaps we can have uMFCD slewed to a 2.5.6. build (or some older patch) that we could use for SP homeplay with uMFCD feature and do our MP gameplay with 2.7 build that You don't use uMFCD for. It's a great feature to have if you're a pitbuilderand have invested thousands into various panels and displays so it would be a shame if we don't follow uMFCD path. Any links to a latest uMFCD download that works with any of the DCSW versions, I'd like to check it, try it out and see what can be done? Thanks all and best regards,
  11. Now I just gave it a try with 2.7... F-15C @ 40.000ft MSL, straight and level flight in ALT and ATT hold, 5200lbs of fuel 2xAiM-120C on stations 3 / 4 1xAiM-9M on 11 ACMI pod on 1 G 1.0 3°AoA 0° pitch / 0° bank Synced both engines to 92% RPM (Full Mil throttle) and 492kts TAS / 244 IAS / M .88 is constant. Edit: Although she seems to accelerate by 1kt for each 100lbs of fuel burn. What do you think? Under performing or not?
  12. What Dudikoff said above works also with older TM Cougar software called Foxy that I highly recommend (and use for 17 years so far). Are U aware that You can physically adjust the position of both IDLE and AB detents if you open up a Cougar TQS? Say your IDLE detent is positioned at 4% of throttle travel. Foxy allows programing a curve so that all <4% generates a RSHF+End macro that kills your engine. So 5% can generate an egine start and 6% thru 100% behave like a slider with adjustable curve to allow more curve / precision in that close to FulMil sweetspot your throttle spends most of it's time at.
  13. Wear steel toe Danner boots with rubber sole like I do when I fly.
  14. So could the main reason of WH throttle going haywire be in the fact that 5V voltage actually fries circuits? How 'bout connecting throttle to a non powered USB 2 hub with 10ft of cable (to increase impedance and reduce voltage) in the first place, before anything goes wrong? I ask because I just bought my TM WH throttle and thinking of all proofing before I even connect it to my MoBo rear USB ports. I use TM Cougar HOTAS for 17 years now (bough it back in 2004 when they hit the market) and haven't had any issues so far. Thanks all.
  15. Well, FC3 has let's see 9 flyble planes on top of Su-25T and TF-51D you get for free with DCSW. Price of FC3 is equal to one of DCS WWII Assets pack so one cannot expect much brains from it.
  16. Yeah, with AMRAAM being a heavier missile it's usually loaded to outer hardpoints (1,11) of wing pylons that are easier to access and reach by a loading tractor. So TCTS and Winder are usually loaded to 3 and 9 that are hard to reach, approach obstructed by aircraft engine nacelle. Check at 01:40: https://youtu.be/2RHkxY3X8rY
  17. Back in the LO and early FC (1.12B) days F-15C was as good as AWACS so I steered away from flying it and meeting it in virtual skies (literally). Now it's an underdog in DCS skies so I kinda grew into it. The fact is F-15C got nerfed. It can't power climb, can't sustain in turn fights without pitchdown as much as it could, radar got degraded by at least 30%, Sparrows suddenly slowed down etc.Guess those Redfor rants from back then made a difference. It's quite unfair and unrealistic for a F-15C o I feel kinda sorry for it.
  18. Guess they nerf the Eagle and other FC3 flyables with each and every update. As such these slowly turn into arcade fighters so Your focus shifts to DCS single modules that each cost as much as all FC flyables. So unless there's a clickable, advanced avionics F-15C module in the making (there's F-15E) guess we gotta suck it up.
  19. It ain't just the Eagle, most jets in DCS underperform at altitudes beyond 30.000ft. if you fly straight and level and start from M1.0 holding throttle in FullMil you'll stall within few minutes if you don't kick your AB every now and then. I made a F-15C test mission of escorting a B747 flying M ,9 at 39.000ft. Had centerline FT, 2*AIM120 and 2 AIM-9. In order to keep up with it in S&L flight had to use my AB halfway thru. I find it hard to believe.
  20. Having it available on stations 3 and 9 of a F-15C would be welcome and add to realism. Any Integrity check friendly pylon editor mods on this matter? I remember, back in the days of LOMAC and FC, a utility called LOPE (Lock On Pylon Editor). Is anything similar available for DCS 2.5.6. and 2.7? Thanks all.
  21. Yes of course. I tried Vaicom but it was a Free one so it probably lacked AI commands toggle option or I wasn't paying attention back in the day. Guess I'm gonna go Pro sooner or later so I'll enjoy flying a further more. but back to Voice Attack, I have most of the DCS modules configured with all commands so I cover 90% off all featured commands, many of them sporting different phrases. I also included lot of prefix and sufix commands that I find great for creating complex phrases, mostly needed for managing AI Wingmen and entire AI Flight. So yeah, it takes a while to get it all sorted to my liking.
  22. Well there's the history units option in Mission editor allowing availability of date and year specific units. I wish it would also change the scenery accordingly so you'd have Lakenheath Eagles and concrete runways in full spectrum over Channel.
  23. Thanks, will check it out for sure, this is frustrating enough for me but some things You notice only after a certain testing period and I've been testing for a weeks now Yeah, I test with plain 15U$ Genius headset, with more expensive TM - T.Flight (~100$) and most expensive (270$) AKG HSD271 dynamic mike headset. In all cases mike boom is connected to a left earcup and all headphones suffer same problem. Since each sound is actually an air vibration, mike picks vibrations from an earcup. Earcup is either being too loud (actually it's cranked) or mike being too sensitive picking background sounds from a TV, my wife nagging or my pirate parrot saying "splash one" 20x in a row.
  24. I restrain from VAICOM plug in because it removes all AI comms text from the screen. So I often forget the correct phrases I need to pronounce to trigger a certain AI response. Using just a VoiceAttack I see all possible options displayed on a screen. It'comes handy when communicating with ATC while flying a FC3 jet that has no clickable and editable radio setup. ATC listing is based upon a distance, so closer ABs are further up on the list. So say I wanna contact Silverbow ground flying over NTTR in my F-15C, I simply call out "ATC" and it brings up a list of all available towers, I tally the one I want and I see it's bound to F4 key because it's a bit further away from me than the other 3 bases in the vicinity. So I call out "F4" and it takes me to a Tonopah context. I hope You see my logic here.
