  1. Picked pay for all but would chose free P-47 because of fan base surrounding the other planes. Personally they should give away P-51 and charge for the others.
  2. Well at least DCS WWII should know what its going to be released at now and missing the first stretch goal even through it was lowered (barring a miracle) is pretty disappointing. I just hope they can deliver what they are already promising.
  3. Should of just given the P51 away for free with some type of agreement from DCS. Its going to be what 2 1/2 years old by the time this thing ships and most of us already have it. Giving away 3 of the most iconic planes of WWII is crazy when people would of been lining up to pay for the BF109 and Spitfire to say the least.
  4. I wouldn't kid yourself because what they're designing at Star Citizen is nothing simple and they've got a lot of ship modules over the $100 range. The problem with DCS WWII was the marketing of the simulation and what your getting for your pledge. If they hadn't made it confusing or offered 3 free planes a whole lot more people would of been pledging at least with the $40 mark. SC hasn't raised near 21M so far by poor marketing and what 2M in the last month alone for a game that won't come out for 2 more years. If you got something great you don't have to give it away and that's where DCS WWII messed up.
  5. Check out this site. They have sections for each area of the plane and details where available. http://www.daveswarbirds.com/b-17/contents.htm
  6. Other photos.
  7. Not everyone made it home.
  8. Is there anything I have to manage at high altitude like the carbs? I noticed they were at like -50 or somewhere close at 30k so does p-51 model water freezing in fuel lines at extreme temps.
  9. I'd be fine with another plane other that the B-17 if they lowered the mark but the gap is huge between the 100k level and the next benchmark as it stands. I bumped my pledge up to $85 mark to go ahead and pay for my FW190. Kickstarter and transfer fees being 9% seems really high but I've never done a Kickstarter campaign. Thats a huge chunk of this whole project.
  10. Chipped in my $50 today. Don't know if I'll have any more before the kickstarter closes but I'm sure it will hit the $100k mark. Can they lower the stretch goals so the first one hits at the $175k to $200k mark?
  11. History channel had Air Aces show on a few weeks ago on Francis Gabreski who flew the P 47. Really interesting story ended with him in POW camp because he decided to fly just one more mission when he should of been going home.
  12. I don't think this will be the biggest hurdle. Modeling a four engine aircraft with a complex bombing sight and everything else that can go wrong with these will be very hard especially to DCS levels.
  13. I had a lot more trouble taxing the thing that doing my first takeoff and landing which went quite smooth. Had to get the brake setting right so I quit killing props. Are there any videos for getting out of flat spins?
  14. I still remember playing the B-17 Flying Fortress The Mighty Eighth going over long runs over Germany facing incredible amounts of flak mixed with German fighters. You could man the different positions, take care of the wounded crewmembers, and even when you finished your bombing run there's the long ride home. Usually you had quite a bit of damage from either the flak or fighters so getting home wasn't easy with one or two engines out or your flaps shot out. Just sitting in formation watching the planes getting shot up and taking damage around you was quite different than flying in the fighters seat. Of course the best part was if you laid your .50 cals into some fighter coming in at the wrong angle. It was probably one of deadliest jobs of the war outside the U-boat service or combat line infantry units.
  15. A lot of us probably remember playing B-17 Flying Fortress and bombing the crap out of Germany. Great sim.
  16. You don't have to use the steam download version. Just buy the game there and get the module serial number from them. Download the game directly from the DCS website and when you start a mission it will ask for the code. I buy games from all kinds of sites like green man gaming and others and use the activate code on steam. All your buying is a code and I'm sure retailers hate it when the guy who makes the product puts it on sale. That's business and DCS will put them on sale when other guys don't anyways.
  17. I bought the P-51 mustang to try and move it over the way you did it. I'd migrate everything over to steam but I don't think the upgrade version of Blackshark 2 will migrate. Waiting for the E store on DCS site to come back up to install before I purchase more titles from steam.
  18. Steam has mustang on sale for $11.99 and other titles for 70% to 80% off. Huey is only $9.99 for the next 2 days but I have a question. They had previously said to buy all titles from one site. I've bought all previous purchases from DCS but now they are carrying them on steam. Will I be able to use the steam licenses with my previous purchases in DCS world?
  19. The TOW2B is aimed just like the regular TOW missile. Reticle is placed directly on target but the missile will automatically fly over the target and fire a second round straight down when it senses its over the target. The armor on a tank is the thinnest on the top of the turret and most tank units deploy in the defilade whenever possible.
  20. First sim I remember playing was F-15 Strike Eagle. Long time ago it seems now.
  21. GoGamer had them for about $30 dollars.
