  1. It’s still yesterday here.
  2. Feels kinda like December 12, 1998. Congrats all!
  3. Yes, and fully functional would have to include automated thrust lever capability for simulating autothrottle.
  4. Depends mostly on who is/are flying them.
  5. I'd support paying with something like lumens (XLM). Not all digital currencies are based on "mining".
  6. Is that because each computer is modeling the actions of all the assets in the sim? If properly run on a server and AI aircraft are removed, then wouldn't our individual clients have less work to do - primarily modeling the flight of the aircraft we are in?
  7. I agree. I purchased the Normandy map and assets pack because I thought this had some potential. About 20 years ago there was a cool subscription based massive online WWII sim. Seems like DCS could easily better that... it was great fun. Some of the real WWII battles were massive furballs. It seems like a great area to have do a good sim that would be less dependent on many of the things that are difficult to get right in a more modern simulation. Also, it seems that it might be easier to map huge areas of the Pacific where it is mostly ocean, and relatively small land mass, making it easier to make the map. Just imagine the Hawaiian, Midway, Gilbert, Marshall, and Solomon Islands as a start and expand West from there. Might it not also be easier to implement a dynamic campaign based on this sort of scenario than a modern one? Obviously, we would need more than the asset pack some of us purchased with Normandy.
  8. Thanks for that Andrew!
  9. Yep, seems easy enough to have assets available based on the mission date. So, part of the data on each particular asset should include the beginning and ending date of when those assets were operational for each country. Of course, we should have the ability to override this. For example, some may want The Final Countdown to make up part their DCS timeline.
  10. Will the SRS have an intercom function and know how to connect the front to back in MP?
  11. I think the whole point of a flight simulator is to be able to simulate the real experience of flying. So, there is the real experience and the video gamer's idea of what the real experience should be. How we each want DCS improved is an individual preference. Some of us are more serious than others, some just have different priorities. I personally want night lighting fixed. I want comms fixed. We all want different things. I think RL pilots tend to treat the simulator like being in a real plane and not a video game with an infinite number of do overs. Sure, crashing a sim is not the same as crashing a real aircraft, but perhaps real pilots act in the sim more like in RL... and they want to know they are proficient before taking it to the boat. For me in sim, I will certainly try some what ifs, but crashing simply because I am unprepared leaves me with a foul taste.
  12. I've noticed it change with altitudes down low and was wondering if it was trying to hold TAS.
  13. Lots of fuel but delayed ignition?
  14. Go to Eagle Dynamics in your windows menu and see what you have options to play and update. If it only lists the beta, then you probably only have the beta installed.
  15. Just an idea, but is it possible the RIO could be incapacitated, but not killed?
  16. How do you put the launch bar down in order to connect to the catapult?
  17. "I'm a fighter pilot Tex, not a murderer."
  18. If you want a guarantee: During the week of December 15th, it will be Christmas next Wednesday.
  19. Good question, but not sure it would make sense to allow for that.... you could probably reach some functions in the other seat in an A6... not F14...
  20. Bummer if your Goose gets cooked.
  21. Contract pilot.
  22. wow, glanced through it and I like the design.
  23. You got it. Sometimes I think the CL30 climbs better than a loaded DCS Hornet :)
  24. Does that site have tested compatibility data with specific MB - RAM combinations? I found info on this in my ASUS documentation. In the case of my MB (Asus Z170 premium), the specific memory I have is only verified to be compatible when used in two of the four slots. They recommend certain brand/models with certain chips for use in all four slots, but I haven't had any issues using matching 2x16 + 2x8 filling all four slots.
  25. I think that load time has improved, but what is more important to me is that any stuttering or lag freezes that I experienced with 16Gb are completely gone. So, it can be a smooth experience through an entire multiplayer session. For me, no more pauses in the sim at the worst possible times. -----> fingers crossed for the future Also, 32GB should be more than enough.... I purchased an additional 2x16 to add to my 2x8 because a. I think 32 is the new standard and b. if there turned out to be a compatibility issue with my existing ram, I would have been able to simply remove it and still have 32 total with the new 2x16 set. All that said, I am not planning on rechecking with 16Gb, so some of my differences could also be the result of an improved DCS code.
