Thank you! I will try this asap. I want to enable my latch fire key on my Joystick, it's a pia to reach down and fumble clicking the switch in the cockpit.

When I go to copy and past text, code, etc, in a forum, only here in DCS (longtime member). The text will not copy the mouse just does nothing, locks up a few moments. I am not sure when this issue started. I am using Windows 10 with the Edge browser. I also have Google Chrome, and when I browse the DCS forum and copy and past, there are no problems with copy and past from here to my notepad, etc. what is wrong with the copy and past with M.S. Edge browser and DCS forum? thanx...

question about changing the default lua files.. will they pass integrity checks, and will patch updates change them back? thanx

I removed trim functions to my Saitek HOTAS ... I think it was causing me to crash with all kinds of control problems... even with deadzones .

How to make and add kneeboard for Combined Arms? How to make and add kneeboard for Combined Arms? It is not in the list for aircraft, as only aircraft show in the pull down menu. Can CA be added as a folder and pick it? I don't see any posts for this. Thanx.. I really like the KneeBoard builder wish I had known before. :pilotfly:

Track of trim gone bad. It is possible the Saitek stick is sending bad inputs. I try cancelling out trim with the O key, in the control panel it says use that key to cancel trim. I used an instant mission, it cut the time and get to the issue without a full mission with takeoff... as you can see it happen well after the start... I don't have problems until I try to add any type of trim. Then go back to no trim to cancel out and go back to neutral. Also, I try setting the Autopilot button on top left cockpit to see if that will take over and smooth out the ride. But it just turns those off as it gets worse until it is totally out of control. It starts going bad quickly while flying. :joystick: DCS_Viggen_Track_Trim_Gone_Bad.zip

My working Saitek X52 Pro AJS-37 profile. I attached it, so others may try it, and improve it. Of course some settings in my AJS Control panel maybe set and work with my joystick profile, and the profile features may not work without those same setting and key assignments. It is a work in progress. DCS_AJS-37_Saitek_X52Pro_Profile.zip

I deserve (I would rather not use the word deserve, but, if I must) I deserve (I would rather not use the word deserve, but, if I must). I am a disabled U.S.A.F. Veteran, with incurable necrotizing pancreatitis, I mostly do things inside the home, because outside hobbies are impossible from being sick. I got sick from chemicals in the USAF, e.i. jet fuel, fuels, and chemicals. My old Saitek gear is worn out and cannot afford a new flight stick, and want anew HOTAS bad. I can fly IL-2 ok, as the joystick works ok there, but in DCS, the old Saitek Stick just fumbles the keystrokes. Until the VA gets to my appeal, 20 years in the process of appeals, hospitalizations, etc, I don't have the cash for a new flight stick setup. PLus, it is cold and raining or snowing so I am inside mostly, and flying what I can, health permitting. I fly with my squad (AKA Wardogs, since about 1997.) Thanx. :joystick:

When one opens the map in DCS, does it have any adjustments to make it more or less Opaque. Like in several other sims, you can fly, look at the map and see through it, (adjust opacity) so you fly, look at the map, and see through the map to watch your aircraft while you simultaneously check out the map info. In other flight sims you can have opacity adjustments on a slider. I cannot find this ability to adjust the map in DCS. is it already in? I can't find any reference to it in DCS. Will it be implemented sometime in the future? Thanx. :pilotfly:

I worked in aerospace a few years with a engineering degrees after I left the USAF. The electronics has a plastic conformal coating on electronics, because the aircraft wrings the water out of the air each time to go up and comes down, compresses ands recycles air and water... everything where air is can get soaked in water...

behavior of the Mustang while hard flying
Ramstein replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
sorry, no track, but you guys are over thinking it,, cruzing along, good weather, 80% power, nothing over rev, over power, all good, al normal.. then took stick up down, back and forth, small travel, but quick in all directions, no upside down, just left, right, up down, etc..etc. for 10 seconds,,, lost most power, but engine stayed running... dropped altitude because no power, checked al gauges, al gauges show engine trying to die, but kept running, as I dropped the throttle, pulled in pitch, lowered pitch.... leveled out, started giving throttle, leveling out, engine back to normal after a minute or two of calmly bring it back to normal... had fuel, did not run out of gas in any tanks... weather fine, did not over speed engine, prop, not deep dive, climbs, or rolls.. just brought it back to normal and then al was good, was along flight from 1/2 down to top to Krymsk area, killed some ground targets in on killing ground targets, like trucks, no guns shooting back at my targets.. practiced with friends with flying different aircraft and helos. no reason for the Mustang to loose al power putter and try to die.. only that it didn't take the jerking around very well. F-15C - How to apply brakes without going off the runway?

I am looking forward to all brand new high quality flight stick, pedals and gear, mine is cheap and worn out... -
behavior of the Mustang while hard flying
Ramstein replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
auf den Kopf gar nicht fliegen I was not upside down at all  -
I was flying along, and decided I would yank the stick, up and down, back and forth, not violently, but not smooth. I wasn't going full speed at all, probably 80 %. All gauges below red. On left fuel tank. Plenty of fuel in the tanks. 10k feet altitude. As I took the stick, up down back forth, not full, just enough to toss the plane, the Mustang lost power, lost speed, acted fuel starved, took a minute to recover rpm, speed, etc,, I dropped some altitude, leveled out, held steady, all was back to normal. I have never seen this happen before with the Mustang, in any sim I fly. it clearly acted like I was in a violent situation, but I was just throwing around a bit, but not much, and not upside down at all. :joystick:

I tried TrackIR 5, but was not enjoying it because my head moves too much.... everyone else, I think 90% of the people I fly with very often, use it religiously... I am still not 100% for it for myself, but if I had the extra cash, I might give it another go. I know this thread didn't mention TrackIR, but came close enough... I too have had computers since the early 1980's.... and early sims...

A real life pilot, doe snot fly online, told me that at a large lake in my area of the USA, the water is always very cold, and has a rim of mountains around it.... he said the cold water causes the aircraft, lite aircraft, Cessnas and what not, have a hard time getting out of the area of the cold water area above the lake, because it causes the plane to not have the lift and power like over warmer water... I tried to model this in DCS, but cannot find enough weather variables built into DCS to try this, make the lake water a certain temperature, and simulate similar conditions to see if it affect the lift and power needed to leave that area without crashing. He says often people fly over the area, not realizing that the effect makes it very difficult unless you can get enough power and lift to overcome the physics of less lift, not a lot of power in a small prop plane, and of course maybe 4 adults and weight of fuel. Anyways, while the modeling of weather and conditions in DCS is really good, there is still a lot that can be done. I usually don't like messing with wind/weather in the sims I fly, just make flying a PIA. IMHO

has one of the latest patches broken key commands in Beta? I was flying beta version online on a friends server, and it turned out several of us have new problems with some key commands on some aircraft that were working fine before one of the latest patches. Some commands would no longer work, steering, brakes, etc..etc.. maybe got broken on at least a couple aircraft. Sorry can't be more specific, because I didn't write down al of the issues and aircraft, but spent a couple hours looking for what, happened with which aircraft. Crazy stuff going on. Probably just going to wait for a new patch. I hope the non-Beta wasn't broken by any of the latest patches.:joystick:

it will be so, it will need a better server, as the packets online won't keep up and then the only way to run online will be through dedicated server setups , as the weakpoints of gaming shift from different components..... make this better ands that lags,, then that gets better and something else lags... the pursuits of the holodeck future...
