I know there are a lot of us that love to fly... but a lot of us get older and make us lose the sharpness and agility on the keyboard, stick, eyesight.. (add very bad health to my list). I still am active with the squad activities too, but hard settings make it very hard. Have very bad diseases, and pain, low stamina, and... just like fun... easy things...). I can do hard slow startups, but prefer quick starts by far. Can't do much about speed of my body and eyesight... so, if you make and do missions and campaigns give us old farts a chance to with aircraft and missions we can do. Thanx! :joystick::pilotfly::doh:

I just looked and flew at DCS Beta, Same issues with Mig-21...
-
apparently the issue was reported a while back... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=191516 and more: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=186618

Here is Mig-21 track showing ground start with no missing parts, i.e.: bomb switches. compare with air start that has missing bomb panel cockpit. 11-15-17_track_Mig-21_ground_start_bomb_console_with-nuke_bomb_not_missing.trk

btw, when I build a mission with ground or air start mig-21 with nuke, the 'The IAB/nuke panel is missing when nuke is loaded. if I start from scratch, go into the mission, load weapons, load fuel, startup etc, all the weapons and panels are there and work fine. But, if I build a mission, the panel above the cockpit is totally missing with toggles for the bomb. There is a thread in the offical DCS forums, but I do not see a resolution, a fix. The thread about the issue is old. I think they are talking about the same issues. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=186360&highlight=nuke re: Top and I were trying the mig-21 nukes out last night... I went on testing several hours later... so, if I land and re-load the switches appear. If I start with hot start on ramp, with nuke, the bomb switch console it is missing. if I do a ground/reload weapons, it puts the bomb switch console in as it should have been in the first place. I tried many times over. I think it is a bug that was never reported. if it was reported, I didn't know and am sorry, please move thread or disregard. I know this module has been out a long time, and I would think it would have been found out or announced as a features ages ago. I added two formats of the trak file. one trk, the other is in a zip. Some browsers refused to let me add one or the other. AirStart with nuke, has no bomb console switches as it does on the ground cold start. 11-15-17_track_Mig-21_airstart_missing bomb_console_with-nuke_bomb.zip 11-15-17_track_Mig-21_airstart_missing bomb_console_with-nuke_bomb.trk

Latest patch SU-33 DCS Beta issues not fixed
Ramstein replied to Ramstein's topic in Su-33 for DCS World
ok, my mistake, I thought more was fixed. -
I ran the patch update 10-05-17 (date I updated, not sure which day that patch was released) for SU-33 Beta, and other... ======= the patch notes say this: DCS Su-33 Added new instant action missions on Caucasus. Missing textures in cockpit fixed. Fixed exaggerated hook bouncing when contact with deck. Hook retract speed increased to real value. ======== my flight in DCS Beta with SU-33 showed it to be about the same , it was bouncing/sliding around the deck after I landed, it could not settle down, would not take fuel and ammo in rearm/refuel, because it was moving all over the deck. Even with engines off. More tests to check out many items. I took off several times. I did some dogfighting, and came back and landed several times. :joystick:
-
I mentioned this in a post, apparently all of these issues are supposed to be listed as each bug separately. I said it was bouncing al over the deck. It was actually good until the patches... now, it's got so many problems, it just all messed up... IMHO. I know it wasn't the intention of DCS, but come on, with 100 issues and taking out of Beta???

List of bugs that I've found in SU-33 beta
Ramstein replied to AJaromir's topic in Su-33 for DCS World
before the last patch the SU-33 worked fine. Of course it had the original Flight Model. But, now it's porked. The patch basically broke the FM. So, no reason to try to see what's going on with it. Until a good patch comes, it's parked. -
I can't use 'U' key for carrier takeoff, with barrier behind aircraft, supposed to raise barrier (behind engines of aircraft on deck, in starting position) and aircraft sets into position. SU-33 explodes about 50% of the time I try to launch on carrier. Aircraft continuously bounces around on deck. Speed is too low to takeoff, unless you go way back on deck. I have had Flaming cliffs and the SU-33 for ages. There is no way this Beta version could be ready in a week or two. Too many issues. FYI. I put it on a land base and flew also a few missions. This has all been since last night Friday 09-22-17 with latest patch.

X-55 Rhino Hotas Issues and Problems
Ramstein replied to Raven434th's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Logitech has updated drivers for some Saitek HOTAS, which include my Saitek X52 Pro. I think I already posted about this a few months back. I know the post is in these DCS forums... here is Saitek X52 Pro software and drivers, Windows 10 versions http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/x52-pro-space-flight-simulator-controller/downloads# of course I don't know your exact model, but if you go look, you might find yours... I see the X56, I do not see the X55 for Win10.. http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/x56-space-flight-vr-simulator-controller/downloads# check to see the SST software and Drivers, both. As they are different in the download and Install. If you don't use SST then just use drivers I use the SST with my X52 Pro. Good Luck! :joystick: edit: I see the differences listed in this link: http://www.tomshardware.com/news/saitek-x-56-rhino-hotas-peripheral,31522.html -
someday I will probably buy these, I have my eyes on these controls for flying... so many things to buy but priorities ! I hope to put my Saitek to rest and replace with these controls....

X52 Pro Controller & Rudder Problems
Ramstein replied to Jetstream's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
do you have pedals or do you use the rudder twist? How old is the stick, any sticking buttons, etc.. my stuff is older and the sticky button problems usually start with age, and not just with Saitek... I have Saitek X52 Pro and CH pedals My Saitek pedals had to many problems with age, so they were retired... Calibrate your stick also. The A-10C has the insert key to lock the steering. one more thing, I had to stop using the turn knobs, as they got old and would send bad inputs to controls. -
Nice, wonderful!

Win10 Drivers: as you know Saitek sold their business 2x in the last couple of years http://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/x52-pro-space-flight-simulator-controller/downloads# Logitech runs it and handles new software and drivers.. I found they made new software and drivers for one of the Saitek sticks I own, the Saitek X52 Pro. it is an WHQL version for Windows 10. I am trying it, it was a pain to install, as their directions are horrible and the setup wasn't click and play, I had to dig into the separate files to find certain files in exe and zips. I would suggest not messing with the latest drivers and software build sunless you absolutely need them. I am still testing mine, and have not got much tested yet. While I Have had my Saitek stick for 10 years, it is worn and not al problems are software, a lot of worn buttons. The last Win10 drivers Saitek made a couple of years ago were not signed by Microsoft, so one had to go around the signed drivers check, for them to install. Supposedly Logitech did it properly, but I am not ready to say all is well with their acquisition of Saitek HOTAS sticks. IMHO ======= the drivers and software are in the same download, but I had to go into the folders and take each one out separately... the drivers are Version: 8.0.121.0 the software for profiles is Version: 8.0.131.0 (no matter what the Logitech info and download page says, inside the files it says, in text, these are the actual versions). the profile software will appear as a little joystick on your right taskbar. save your profiles from your Saitek install. You can continue using the same profiles, and will just copy these to your new 'c:/user/.../.../.../logitech folder. Logitech only made a new front page with their logo and design for the desktop and taskbar, and used the same profiling creator. :joystick:

X-55 Rhino Hotas Issues and Problems
Ramstein replied to Raven434th's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I see others have the dreaded Saitek nightmare, ever since the support went in the toilet.. I use the software and setup my controller in game and also use the Saitek software. But, if you use the rotaries in the software profilers. and they are worn... I decided to not use them at all in the Saitek profile software. Now, not as many problems with keys and bad key presses... I fly several combat flight sims. I use Win10. (I see this thread is a few months old...) -
get behind a real plane with afterburner , during takeoff. There are no rings....
-
I tried to climb a bit, I think maybe 15k feet or so and the engine flamed out... it is horrible at any high altitudes
-
I wanted to print one out, for a manual I made.. 3 ring binder... (it actually used (2) 3-ring binders for just the highlights of info...)

Is there a photo of the weapons selector? thanx :book:

BK90 - Can it only be used over flat terrain?
Ramstein replied to Hoggorm's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
dispersal of the bomblets seems to be best if BK90 is set a little bit higher... of course the dispersal parameters can be entered into the computer.. -
GTX 1060 6 GB Recommendations
Ramstein replied to B2Blain's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just ordered a Nvidia Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB ram. my wife needed to replace her video card, the pny oc CARD HAS A BAD oc PROBLERM CAUSING ctd'S. I am giving her my Nvidia card and I am going to use the new GTX 1060. I am going from a 680 with 1 GB to the 1060 with 6GB ram. I had no problems with mine, but might as well use the new one. I really want a new joystick, but it keeps slipping away. Still using my old Saitek X52 pro. I am anxious to see if I will see targets better, and not such long loading times with the new video card. -
I find the gauges to not be accurate when the fuel lever drop below 1/4 tank. it often just drops from say 1/4 tank, to zero very fast. I would have expected more linear changes, but seems to change with spurts. Is this my imagination fuel usage readings? Thanx. I am not saying I have a good understanding of reading al the instruments, but it seems like one moment you have a little fuel left, then you take your eyes away for a few minutes and you are empty...
