F-15C Nose wheel wobble and tire blowout during take off role
Ramstein replied to 450Devil's topic in Bugs and Problems
I found that if you let it lift after about 170 mph + depending on weight loadout, etc.. it will stop the wheel problems.. steering too fast on taxi seems a bit conservative,, but it could be my perception. In real life they bug around the taxiways pretty fast, and have pretty good breaks on the aircraft, and can handle corners pretty good for being an aircraft. it just seems in here the tires pop a bit too easy... but that's corners... too much front pressure at high speeds seems like it would blow, but I personally never saw one shred,, plenty of hot brakes for landing though... -
In using the F-86 a-a missiles, might as well get out, go knock on the enemy pilots' door, ask him to roll down the window so you can toss in the grenade.. you must get up very close and personal on the bandit's 6 to get a half decent lock and for the missile to actually hit the thing.. IMHO :megalol: btw, one of our pilots flew off Navy carriers around that time of Korea, I will ask him about that particular missile.. it definitely is no Aim 9 ! Or a contemporary of same type..

F-68 cockpit bubble glass cannot see through in many conditions
Ramstein replied to Ramstein's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Thanx, I figured some stuff was reported as bugs... I highly doubt that anyone would want people to believe that's what pilots could actually use! :pilotfly: -
F-68 cockpit bubble glass cannot see through in many conditions. When flying, and with a little sun, or moisture, or at above ground flying, etc.. too much streaking, too many scratches, too many streaks, etc.. to see when panning or looking out of cockpit window... Is this suppose to be the norm for the F-86, or a problem they will fix? :helpsmilie:
-
The sounds in the F-86 disappeared when taxing, and came back a couple minutes after takeoff... This weird stuff started after installing the F-86... :helpsmilie:

Same here, with radio stuff, I need to learn how to operate the radio,, and wanted to chime in with Thank you for very good videos on weapons and all !

I get a couple of sound problems with the F-86. First, it causes a static sounds on some speakers that are not even used for the sim, these speakers are only setup for TeamSpeak. They do not play the sound of the sim in the game, they are only set for Teasmspeak, sounds (off the computer). I think the radio in the f-86 at certain settings cause this problem, I don't have that issues isolated to know exactly which setting cause an interference, humming sound in those speakers. The bigger problem is that often, when I am flying the F-86 Sabre, I lose the F-86 aircraft sounds. Just goes silent. Still flying, etc. Just no sound in the F-86 Saber a very short while. I have the sim sounds going through (also Nvidia Video) an connector cable HDMI into an LCD HDTV from the computer. I have used this setup for 7 years. Not the same computer, but same setup, the computer is newer. Maybe it doesn't like my Win 8.1 Asus with Realtek drivers? :joystick: Note, I fly the SU-25T, A-10C, FC3, Ka-50, Mi-8, UH-1 Mustang, and Sabre modules. Only the F-86 gives sound problems.

Question for those that use Saitek HOTAS
Ramstein replied to Ramstein's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah, I ran into big problems after some Saitek drivers software, and luckily I made a restore point before trying their new software.. I am pissed... but luckily I saved a huge mess from ruining my computer... Saitek sure went to crap, and they removed the only help forum... :joystick: -
Question for those that use Saitek HOTAS
Ramstein posted a topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Question for those that use Saitek HOTAS, about drivers. I see they released new drivers again, but they never say what has changed. Ever since they closed the Saitek forums, I have no clue how to get answers, except for e-mailing them. I downloaded and installed the latest drivers, even though my X52 Pro HOTAS is getting old. I have Windows 8.1. Does anyone know what the latest changes are in Saitek drivers, software, etc. I understand when they release a new product, they can include more then one product in the software and drivers. But, still, anyone know what is different. I see a change in some numbers in the description of the new files. Also, slightly different file size. Thanx :joystick: -
Eagle Dynamics FM discussion (WWII Aircraft)
Ramstein replied to Yo-Yo's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
like with what they say about flying full real... in combat... if you don't want outside views because that isn't real, etc..etc.. consider the full real experience, blow up some bombs around you, have someone take a hammer and ropes and smack you around... then you are getting closer to full real combat... you are suppose to have fun in a simulator, not make it less fun... :pilotfly: -
has anyone actually had the MFD built in the Saitek X52 Working correctly without going through bunch of b.s.? Thanx.. I have used Saitek for 15 years, and the last time I tried it only gave me problems... :joystick:

I was just stating that in real life you can really see the sizes.. the F-5 is tiny compared... totally different aircraft.. I just di a compare and contrast... the wings on the Mirage are freaking huge surface area... I shouldn't have even brought it up... it contrast in sizes of the range from tiny to huge,, the F-100 was huge compared to the F-86. The F-4 Phantom has tiny wings, which are really spoilers for stability, push by raw thrust... in the extreme... F-4 Phantom has 3,600 gallons (U.S.) of fuel with the centerline tank full.

that was the only one I took a photo of when I was stationed at Ramstein A.B. 35 years ago.. along with 10,000 other photos,, just thought it was cool having some photos... btw, they are pretty damned big... some little fighters, or multi role, like the F-5, are tiny, compared in size, F-111 is pretty big... Mirage is pretty damned big... just sayin'. Yes totally different roles... just in general... sizes are so many, and some may not realize the sizes in real life...

good, I keep passing up several aircraft... I really have enough, but then everyone else jumps in something I don't have.. Mig-21 is popular, plus I don't have any German WWII aircraft, yet..
-
I serviced the Harriers when I was active duty USAF. They always came over to Germany to practice sorties.. :joystick: Also with many other aircraft...
-
I was flying a couple months ago, my whole computer screwed up,, ended up completely going through it,, I think it is fixed and spending 6 weeks working it... I think one of those updates hit it hard..

x52 pro with new rig = problems
Ramstein replied to cfarsr's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Saitek really screwed us, in combination with usb3 and win8.1 it has really really sucked getting these back working properly, and Saitek bailed on us with no help from them! IMHO -
I will check this info out... I am very used to setting convergence in all my flight sims. it said in page 48: They can be set on the ground 250-300 yards. But, apparently , not in the sim. Oh well.
-
so, no gun convergence settings for the Mustang in this sim? that is strange.. ??:joystick:
-
so, the only way for Aries to work properly (the overlay) to work is in windows mode? that is.. dcs in window mode?
-
if the Mig was $18 I would have gotten that... but really want a USA 'SEAD Fighter'... till then...
-
I didn't update at all, I had formatted my hard drive, and install Win 8.1. Then installed the new Aries. it just will not start.
